The app is very unreliable. More incorrect with time to finish than correct. Sometimes cannot connect to robot via wifi at all. Have done all the usual attempts to fix when its incorrect (unplugging the robot, reinstalling the app, etc), but sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. Very frustrating. I had the same issue with my previous dolphin robot as well, so its the app, not the robot. ### 2/5 — Limited usefulness *2026-08-07, version 3.2.0* The Dolphin power supply only connects over 2.4ghz wi-fi. The app is useless if for any reason the power supply cannot connect, which means you cannot order parts or get support with the app. ### 1/5 — Can’t connect to wifi *2026-07-29, version 3.2.0* Glad this app works for some people. Wish it did for me. Connecting to wifi is a nightmare. You have to step through the whole setup process, just to change networks. It suddenly can’t find our WiFi, even when I have the power unit 10 feet away from our router. The only way to turn it on is manually hitting the button. I purchased this so I could run it remotely. ### 1/5 — Setup fails, and the app gives you nothing to work with *2026-07-25* I have not been able to complete setup on a Dolphin Premium 60. The “Looking for your robot” screen almost always finds nothing, no matter how long it runs or how close I stand to the power supply. Once, after many attempts and without doing anything differently, it suddenly found the robot and displayed the correct model and serial number. Tapping “Ok, Next” then failed and returned me to the searching screen. I have not been able to reproduce even that much since. The only alternative the app offers is scanning the QR code on the power supply, which returns “Code is not supported” with no indication of what that means or which code it expects. So the two available paths are a scan that finds the robot roughly one time in twenty, and a QR code the app itself rejects. At no point does it explain what failed. Hours gone with nothing to show, and no way to tell whether the problem is the app, the robot, or my phone. ### 1/5 — DO NOT GET THIS PRODUCT! *2026-07-24, version 3.2.0* After using the app and the cleaner for over a year, the app suddenly asked me to log in. I entered my email address, then it said it would send a code I had to use within 5 minutes. It took over 10. I tried this a dozen times. Next I followed the links to customer service. Went through the trouble to fill everything out and it responded saying they would contact me within(I think it was) 72 hours. It’s been two weeks. I’ve tried the app several times since with the same result. So it’s a useless app on my phone right now. I’m shopping around for a new unit since I don’t want to deal with any company that has this level of user service. ### 1/5 — Horrible App *2026-07-23, version 3.2.0* The cleaner is great but the app is horrible. Requires a code every single time you launch it. Their system delays sending the code if it sends it at all and by the time you get the code it has timed out. You have to log back in everytime you close the app and wait for a verification email. The app doesn’t load right more than half the time so it makes it useless. And this is after you get it to finally connect. ### 1/5 — What an irresponsible company!! *2026-07-19, version 3.2.0* The app is full of flaws , as a soft engineer it’s not the complexity, I can see it’s just not having the willingness or not being respectful towards paying customer. It’s says Tap image to connect , the image wouldn’t load. It’s a static image you are showing and how hard it could be test before release. And if image is not displayed no fall back solutions such as tapping on name of device to continue . Just an irresponsible company !! ### 1/5 — Buggy and insecure *2026-07-17, version 3.2.0* The app is so full of bugs it makes it almost useless. It won’t connect to even a moderately secured network with decent coverage. ### 2/5 — V3.2.0 Broke some features *2026-07-17, version 3.2.0* History no longer shows date information. Also while cleaning, the app shows Cleaning Completed as soon as it starts. The cycle is about 2 1/2 hours, but started at 10:30am and the top of the screen showed complete by 5:30pm??? Dolphin Sigma cleaning cycle ended in the correct amount of time even though this incorrect info displayed on the screen. Also logs me out of the app every time I close it now. ### 1/5 — Horrible connection. *2026-07-15, version 3.2.0* If you ever unplug the robot from its controller box you basically have to start over from the beginning by deleting app and sign in again just to hope it will reconnect. It having to enter your email address every time then waiting for a code to be emailed is obnoxious. Just let us stay logged in or work with Face ID. The login is ridiculous ### 1/5 — Practically useless with the Active 60 (2026) *2026-07-10, version 3.1.9* This app has features that don’t work. I can never get the history. It’s always blank. I can’t ever manually drive my active 60 (my model is supposed to have this feature) it just continually “thinks” and I can’t ever get past the “thinking“ mode to get to the controls to actually control my robot. The pick me up mode doesn’t work as the robot just wanders aimlessly around the pool finally finding a wall and as soon as it gets to the top and I come over to it (within 5 seconds) it goes back down and tries to find another wall. The instructions say that it’s supposed to stop for three minutes, but when my Active 60 gets to the top of the wall just climbs back down without stopping. I don’t even have enough time to bend down to reach for the robot when it goes back down and wanders aimlessly all around the pool again until it finds another wall and the same thing happens all over. Extremely frustrating. When I choose certain cycles such as “floor only” my robot still cleans the walls and waterline. If I choose “walls and waterline” it cleans the floor too. If I choose “waterline” it still cleans the walls and floor. No difference whatsoever between cleaning cycles and options. These features are a joke. Only the “times” feature works occasionally. For a $2000 robot I’d like to be able to have more control over my “controls”. This is a joke of an app and I actually am extremely limited in controlling my unit and what it actually does. The active 60 does an incredible job of cleaning and it works fine. But there is no difference whatsoever between all the cycle choices and options. It cleans for about two hours. It always does the walls waterline and floor, and I can’t control it manually and the pick me up feature is a joke .I’ve had it for about two weeks but none of the features do what they’re supposed to do. Get your game on, maytronics. The robot itself is sturdy and long lasting but it’s only usable if the app works, so I hope you’re reading this in your research before actually buying. It’s frankly easier to just walk over to the main control and press a button. ### 1/5 — recent update bug *2026-08-01, version 3.2.0* I wish I didn’t have to report this issue via review but the support link and Apples report a problem link are also broken :/ The most recent update 3.20 has annoying bug, it never remembers your log in credentials and demands to send you a security code every time you open the app. This alone is not unworkable but the bigger issue is if your robot happens to be in a cleaning cycle when you log into app you will get a communication error telling you that you need to check the robots control cable. Waiting to log in until all cycles are complete is the only way to work with the app. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Latest update awful *2026-05-31, version 3.1.8* After the latest update of the MyDolphin Plus app, which claimed to fix the issue of needing to log in multiple times, the app has actually become much worse. Now, every single time I try to access my Dolphin device, I am forced to log in again. I must repeatedly enter my registered email address and then wait for a security code to be sent by email before I can continue. This process happens over and over again and has made the app extremely frustrating and inconvenient to use. Instead of improving the user experience, this update added unnecessary steps and delays. This is by far the worst update ever. Please fix this issue immediately. ### 5/5 — Great App, but needs an empty basket notification *2025-12-07* I have an AW6 and I’m very happy with its performance and flexibility. App works well, though a little slow at times. One key missing feature is that I’d like to get a notification when the basket is full. This is the most common interaction I have with the AW6 and the app will show a full icon when I open it but not notify me on its own.
