## What is myFOSSIL?

Emphasizing citizens as scientists, the myFOSSIL mobile app helps users engage with the practice of paleontology, connect with others who share their interests, and collaborate on fossil field trips, research, and more. Group members may include any of the nearly 1,000 amateur and professional paleontologists currently in the myFOSSIL community. I’ve tried for hours to get myself registered with an account so I can continue my quest of identifying a huge lot of various sharks teeth and a variety of marine life specimens I’m unable to currently identify for lack of find an app that offers a wider variety of species rather than just focusing on just sharks teeth, fish vertebrae etc. this app looked promising, it’s been to my great dismay that I’m completely unable to create an account in order to make my way around the app itself and form a better opinion. Update, perhaps?

This app would not let me register. I was trying to get a new account but it kept saying my password was wrong. I put my password in more that 5 times correctly and it still says my password is wrong. I don’t know how to fix this.

I was so excited to try this app, but it essentially does not work. I have tried to upload photos multiple times to no avail. Joining groups is virtually impossible. Geolocation forget about it. Interface looks good but app is literally nonfunctional. Please overhaul or else not worth anyone’s time.

Don’t bother. The app experience feels like a high school coding project. There’s no effort to incorporate machine learning. Worse, the people running this community (especially Bill Heim) are rude and toxic. I really hope the NSF stops funding this horror-show of a project. Better off posting your fossils to Reddit or some other online forum.
