Just look at the “What’s new” ~ 5 years ago isn’t new. Successfully changed password 👍 Try to use it and it tells me that the information is wrong 👎 How can it be wrong when it was just successfully changed ❓ This makes it *impossible* to log into the myGov website. ### 3/5 — Works fine for its intended purpose BUT *2025-09-02, version 2.1.0* They should just let people use their own 2FA app/s if they want to, rather than forcing them to use this app. I found a desktop app (on GitHub some years ago now) that was able to give me the TOTP seed/secret meaning I can now use the 2FA app/s of my choice to get the codes rather than being forced to use this app. I just use Bitwarden for all my 2FA codes these days and FreeOTP or Tofu for Bitwarden itself. If I delete this app (I did) or lose my phone or something, I won’t lose access to my myGov account because I have the seed/secret in Bitwarden. I found that not all 2FA apps (Authy for example) support the more advanced SHA512 algorithm, which is what the myGov one uses. That was some years ago now though. ### 1/5 — Lame app *2025-08-21, version 2.1.0* Same loop over and over again can’t get code to access account ### 1/5 — Absolutely useless *2025-07-23, version 2.1.0* Absolutely useless the codes don’t generate through emails to get the app started and it locked out the my gov app too cz of this now it’s all stuck and have to call the centerlink help line and wait on hold all day absolutely useless verification can’t believe things this country get away with ### 1/5 — Terrible app do better *2025-07-10, version 2.1.0* This app seems to work for a week then after the codes do not work when signing in to MyGov. Have had my account locked and even erased at one point. Probably but that would take some skill to achieve, not sure how you could achieve that. ### 1/5 — DO NOT USE THIS APP *2025-05-27, version 2.1.0* Hi everyone, this app has a serious glitch, it links to your device, so if you use it to access myGov with one phone and lose this phone or Upgrade to another phone, you can not verify anymore and you have to create a whole new myGov account. The code generator is not good, you should only verify with email. They need to make code generator and myGov two step authentication via email or my ID. Otherwise it locks you out of everything. ### 1/5 — A Poor Attempt *2025-05-20, version 2.1.0* Of the many code generator apps I have used, this is probably the worst. I can’t paste my user id into the app and any attempt to do so scrolls the window so it is out of view. Select the hidden Help option and the app disappears. Bottom line - I won’t use this and will stick to the less secure SMS codes. Try to enter your username. Doesn’t pull from passwords. Every time you click in the field, the view jumps to somewhere else. Can’t even paste into the field. And when I get locked out of one, none of the other two work so it’s just a vicious cycle of nothing working at all. Which then means I have to spend hours waiting to get through to the help desk. Why can’t it be kept simple with SMS confirmation codes like everything else? ### 1/5 — A waste of taxpayers dollars, a security risk and should be deprecated *2025-02-12, version 2.1.0* Title says it all… They should use different two factor authentication apps that have been designed much better and able to allow migration. They should consistently integrate their other digital ID applications. Listen to the reviews *2026-01-27, version 2.1.0* Use SMS code instead. The actual myGov website would say the code generated is incorrect. As there was no other way to log in (SMS, secret question) I was locked out! Prepare to be on the phone to myGov hoping for your account to be freed. They also had no initial understanding of what was happening. I used it because I was overseas and didn’t have access to my AU phone always.
