After repeatedly trying to connect and failing every time at the last hurdle I called customer support. No help. I then got an email which said, and I quote, ”if you can please follow the PDF been sent”. There was no PDF. There was a video with similarly illiterate instructions which said if you get an error message turn off your phon’s WiFi and try again, which makes no sense as the set up involves you programming the I-lid to join the same WiFi as the phone is using! It’s pretty outrageous that they charge so much for an internet enabled device which is so buggy and fails to work.
