### 1/5 — The connection to smart lid just doesn’t work

*2025-11-03, version 1.3.4*

The connection just doesn’t work. There is no troubleshooting. I work close tech so a. Savvy enough to know this is not user error. I have a 2.4g connection, vpn’s off, within WiFi range. It it hopeless!

### 1/5 — Salty App

*2025-10-23, version 1.3.4*

I was going to leave a detailed review but I’ve run out of steam trying get the app to pair with the unit.

### 1/5 — Absolute Rubbish

*2025-09-29, version 1.3.4*

Can’t even register my machine, flashing blue light, what about the green light?
Also, water softener recently installed & doesn’t even work & have to wait 2 weeks for a service call. Not a good start for such an expensive machine ☹️

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2025-08-23, version 1.3.4*

Just does not work

### 4/5 — No warnings

*2025-05-26, version 1.3.4*

I’m not sure how everyone is getting these warnings as I’m waiting for it to tell me to put more salt in currently it’s at 40% in both sides and it’s not chirped at all, no notification on the app no sound alerts via the app. Second lid seems to be doing sweet FA too. This is a poor show also no HomeKit which would help a lot but alas this app appears to be broken!

Update 23/4/2022 still broken no contact from Harvey what so ever, how does this app not have any debugging Dev? No way for debugging to be sent straight to the dev like other apps!

Update 11/10/2024 the new lid has been working good but this is for the developers can we get a port in Home Assistant so we can see everything in our home in one place. Not sure if @harvey has looked at automating in home assistant but a lot of people are looking for this ie potential customers. Check the chatter on the internet for yourself but think you could shift a good few units by just doing an integration with home assistant which is open source!

Updated 26/05/2025 the LID has been sending update best thing of all it’s been integrated to Home Assistant both blocks are visible and days remaining displayed for both sides also wifi and battery life viewable, now I have an automation that announces in the house when it’s got to 50% on both so I can just replace both blocks at the same time Culligar add on is called AQUACELL so enjoy also the people having issues adding the lid separate your wifi to a separate 2.4 and 5Ghz network hope this helps. AQUACELL please make the integration at a local level meaning no internet needed, this would be the icing on the cake!

### 2/5 — Lack of compatibility with Apple password

*2025-05-26, version 1.3.4*

Still cannot save password to Apple Password Manager. I see that this issue was raised 2 years ago. Hope I am not wasting my time typing this.

### 1/5 — Poor app

*2025-05-16, version 1.3.4*

Doesn’t connect to my super fast (excellent range) WiFi. Not designed very well.

### 1/5 — Problems/problems

*2025-03-13, version 1.3.2*

I have just bought a new lid in the hope that the supplied one was faulty but it hasn’t solved the problem of it not connecting .
It keep coming up with ( it cannot connecting to location starting with Aylacontrol) Apple can’t help EE can’t help . I am writing this in the desperate hope that you can

### 1/5 — Rubbish

*2025-02-28, version 1.3.2*

Totally useless. Impossible to register the softener even with a flashing blue light. Very frustrating especially given that this Arc softener salt usage rate is very high

### 1/5 — Still not working

*2025-02-25, version 1.3.2*

2025 and as other people said, it's not working, keep getting an error after the device joins the wifi and you can never complete adding the softener to the app: "Error Opening Page
Hotspot login cannot open the page because it cannot redirect to locations starting with "aylacontrol:"."

### 4/5 — Working fine

*2025-02-24, version 1.3.2*

Had for over a month. Working fine. Sends me notifications on low salt etc. Was easy to connect. Like some other reviews would like a history of salt consumption- hence 4 not 5 stars

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not do the one job it should

*2026-07-02, version 2.0.0*

The system inaccurately shows the salt tablet statuses and fails to send timely or correct notifications, so you might not notice when the salt needs refilling.

### 1/5 — Just doesn’t work

*2026-05-28, version 2.0.0*

How, in 2026, can a developer create such a poor app? After repeatedly trying to connect and failing every time at the last hurdle I called customer support. No help. I then got an email which said, and I quote, ”if you can please follow the PDF been sent”. There was no PDF. There was a video with similarly illiterate instructions which said if you get an error message turn off your phon’s WiFi and try again, which makes no sense as the set up involves you programming the I-lid to join the same WiFi as the phone is using! It’s pretty outrageous that they charge so much for an internet enabled device which is so buggy and fails to work. From the low rating of this app it shows the problem lies not with the users but the app

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-05-15, version 1.4.0*

Absolutely useless. Does not work.

### 1/5 — Good Luck if you have a secure network

*2026-04-02, version 1.4.0*

Having gone back and forth with the support team, essentially this app only connects if you have a basic WiFi set-up, 2.4GHZ, and a password with no special characters. Otherwise no chance. Even when I found a work-around and could add the softener it will only update the status when I manually press the button on the lid. Pointless.

### 1/5 — App stopped working since Dec 2025⁉️

*2026-03-18, version 1.4.0*

With the updates to iOS, could you kindly upgrade your app so it is not stuck with the old iOS version? App no longer refreshes, neither do we get any notifications. Replaced batteries which were still OK and still no improvement
KINDLY REPLY

### 1/5 — Not Fit For Purpose

*2026-02-25, version 1.4.0*

This has been impossible to set up on either iPhone. Really needs work.

### 1/5 — App stopped working since Dec 2025

### 1/5 — App connection issues

*2026-02-14, version 1.4.0*

App does not link with the iLid, tried a new Lid and yet the problem continues. Don’t buy the Softner if the App functionality is important to you.
Harvey Softner company also not helpful once the item is out of warranty.

### 1/5 — Mr

*2026-01-03, version 1.3.4*

not able to connect app with softner

### 1/5 — Can’t access

*2025-11-27, version 1.3.4*

I’ve just had the water softener installed. The helpful engineer showed me how to register the app. We did it together twice (once using my email, then again using my husband’s). In both cases we are not receiving the email to confirm registration so we can’t get into the app to start the process of linking the softener to thr app and WiFi etc.

I called support who asked me for the device details which seems stupid considering I can’t register!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-06, version 2.0.0*

Works as it should

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2026-07-03, version 2.0.0*

Set up by the installer Zach, giving me real time updates when I need to reload my harveyarc. Would definitely recommend getting your installer to install the app like Zach has.

### 5/5 — Water Softener Installation

*2026-07-03, version 2.0.0*

The engineer was amazingly thorough in doing the job, he was right on time
and completed the job with great care and most importantly left house clean! Also demonstrated and explained the functions and water hardness test.

### 5/5 — Water softener installation

*2026-07-03, version 2.0.0*

Zach was a great help getting my softener connected to the app on my phone.

### 5/5 — Would recommend

*2026-07-02, version 2.0.0*

Great experience. App is quite nicely done and quick to install and set up

### 5/5 — Installation

*2026-07-01, version 2.0.0*

Zach arrived on time with great communication and got on with install very efficient and friendly, offered good advice on install of app and how to use the Softener. Great job thanks

### 5/5 — Excited for the new experience!

*2026-06-12, version 2.0.0*

Hard water softner installed today. Looking forward to using the app to let us know when the salt needs changing!!

### 5/5 — Good product with simple app

*2026-03-17, version 1.4.0*

App is a useful addition to my Harvey Softener, works well and tells me when I need to top up salt, only a couple of things you need to watch out for as a user is ensuring the lid fits on correctly and that the location of the softener/lid is not too far away from your WiFi as your WiFi connection can be limited (I realised these things when setting up the lid away from the unit but once closer it worked fine and by not putting the lid on coreectly)

### 5/5 — Simple and easy

*2026-03-02, version 1.4.0*

Simple app, sends me the notification to remember salt. Great

### 5/5 — Simple and quick to set up

*2024-02-20, version 1.2.0*

Whilst I do note that it could be a slightly easier process if Apple password manager could be incorporated at sign up, I found this simple and quick to get working. So far displaying 70% salt for left and right which seems correct.
