If frustration had an app, it would be My HSDC. This app is an absolute disaster—slow, clunky, and about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

First off, the interface looks like it was designed in 2005 and never updated. Navigation is a nightmare, with menus that make no sense and buttons that either don’t work or take you somewhere completely random. Half the time, it just freezes, leaving you staring at a blank screen wondering why you even bothered.

The login system? A joke. You’ll spend more time resetting your password than actually using the app. And even when you do get in, good luck finding the information you need—timetables disappear, notifications arrive late (if at all), and important updates are buried under pointless junk.

As for reliability, it crashes more often than a Windows 98 computer. Want to check your schedule? Too bad, the app has decided to stop working today. Need to submit work? Nope, error message.

In short, My HSDC is a time-wasting, stress-inducing disaster of an app. If my college had put any less effort into this, they would have released a blank page. Avoid at all costs—or at least be prepared to rage-quit daily.

It always amazes me every time I open the app when it feels like I have time traveled to 1998. Along with the fact this app looks like a website made 30 years ago, it is also notoriously difficult to navigate amongst other students I’ve spoken to about it. In my opinion, it is absolutely unacceptable that an app we rely on so heavily during our time at this college does not function as intended. I have no hope for the future of it, and it would be better to remove it from the App Store and start again. And to top it all off, a concerning amount of students cannot open this app, even if they have the latest iPhone. It’s almost as if this was a project by some students on their induction day. As soon as you fix your app I will promptly remove this review.

The timetable format is unclear and not legible, and information is hard to find and badly formatted. Furthermore the app does not work on the WiFi of the college it is made for.

The timetable is horrible, seems like that should be a simple thing to get right, but it makes seeing the week’s lessons way more clunky and complicated than it needs to be. Why the times are on the left and in the lesson box is beyond me. It looks like the students have made this on some sort of foundation IT course

But other than that it does the job well and things that you need are sometimes where they need to be.
