I have to use my watch to remote climate control. App optimizations has fell of hard. Old Wish: When attempting to voice command to turn on the climate control, it’s met with Ionic not in range. Shame it doesn’t link to the app to function the car via Siri. ### 2/5 — Useless and slow to use *2026-08-20, version 5.4.3* Using with an IONIQ 5. This app is so incredibly slow to update, frequently returns errors that it can’t reach the car or complete the request. For such a well created EV, the app is by far the worst thing about the IONIQ 5. It’s slow, unintuitive, and gets in the way when you need it the most. This app is full of web views so it feels like a patchwork of web pages, not a real app from a major car brand. ### 2/5 — Lots of bugs *2026-08-18, version 5.4.3* I love this app.. when it works. It’s super convenient, especially when I constantly forget to lock my car and during the winter when I want to get it warmed up before leaving for work. That being said, I can’t stand the fact that sometimes the app won’t even open. I click it and get stuck with the blue loading circle often. When I go to the notifications to clear them out, that takes a while to load (if it ever even does). When I try to clear them out, it crashes the app the majority of the time. The layout is pretty straight forward and I love having access to all of the car’s health information at my fingertips, but I wish the app itself just worked more smoothly. ### 2/5 — Useful, but hard to use *2026-08-17, version 5.4.3* Very cool app, but buggy login and outdated ux. Tough to get around. ### 2/5 — Too many authentication steps *2026-08-15, version 5.4.3* The app constantly asks for authentication steps throughout all kinds of transactions. If I’m logged into the app on a phone that needs FaceID to unlock and get into the app, why do I have to enter a pin or another Face ID check to use all features. I get security but there are too many steps here. Signing up was very similar. Wasn’t able to add subscriptions when using the computer but had to use the phone app and browser. Not user friendly. ### 3/5 — We should get all updates *2026-08-15, version 5.4.3* Why we can’t get what all new Hyundai vehicles updates get if we have OTA updates also like all of them. We all should be able to get better self driving control plus maps among whatever new version of upcoming updates. Not fair not get them. All because you want us to get a new vehicle. Come on don’t make us leave your brand to this scum back of Elon Musk owner of Tesla that provides updates to all his vehicle owners. Remember some of us love all that technology. Stop skimming out of the technology. I really look forward to all that. I was definitely debating on what brand to get between Hyundai Ioniq 5 or 9 or Tesla. But really stop from getting Tesla is how Elon betrayed the middle class plus the poor and took everything they made America really great. Not the rich. The rich got richer because of the middle class. Let’s just say it like it is. No filter here. So make happen Hyundai for your customers. Sincerely. It doesn’t work half the time takes a long time to update. It’s is clunky and archaic. The app consistently crashes and has never been reliable. So many bugs it’s a real sad excuse of an app. It is almost as bad as Hyundai’s Customer service. Most of the time I open it and it’s stuck with that spinning wheel and does nothing until I force close it and reopen it.
