### 4/5 — Keys don’t change color anymore when pressed

*2026-01-04*

I bought the paid version and when I tap a key, usually it’ll change to a darker color to indicate that I tapped it, but that isn’t working. I thought that this used to work, but if this was never a thing, please add this. All other keyboards do this, it’s hard to tell if I’m tapping a key and if I am, which key I tapped.

### 2/5 — no swiping feature

*2025-11-07*

payed and realized after this keyboard does not have a swiping feature for typing with one hand. I mainly use one hand for work.. disappointing and lost my money.

### 3/5 — Changing keyboard height

*2025-09-19, version 3.7.7*

You can drag a slider from 30.00 to 60.00 to change a keyboards rows height but it’s extremely difficult to make all rows the same height unless it’s either the lowest or the highest because if you drag the slider a millimeter it’ll change by like 4.82 or something. Please allow us to input a number from our keyboard instead of just dragging a super sensitive slider

### 4/5 — Very interesting, but needs improving

*2025-08-24*

My favorite feature has to be the enhanced backspace which allows you to slide to control how much to backspace. This is much more precise and also fast than normal backspace! Another thing I like is the button to move the text cursor left. Easier than holding the space bar.

Here are some suggestions though: 1. Make the keys offset properly! My muscle memory from the default keyboard layout is completely ruined by the keys being perfectly aligned in a grid formation. 2. More efficient layouts, maybe even custom ones. Like Colemak. 3. Have a preset for a replica layout of the default iOS keyboard. Simpler to start off with, as your muscle memory isn't ruined.

Other than those suggestions (especially the first) this app is very interesting and innovative!

### 2/5 — It works nothing like the Video suggests.

*2025-03-18, version 3.7.6*

It functions nothing like video suggests. The features are very limited. If you want an unspecified array of additional features, you pay ten bucks.

### 4/5 — Best keyboard on the App Store

*2025-02-07, version 3.7.6*

The customization is great, the one-time $14 purchase for pro is refreshing, and the only problems i've had, is that it's slightly unstable and glitchy. I am running ios15 though rather than ios 18, so take that into consideration.

### 4/5 — Great app but a few features missing

*2025-01-19*

This app is almost perfect but i wish there was a way to add a current date button and we can edit the format to like yyyy-mm-dd or mm/dd/yy etc

### 3/5 — So-so

*2024-12-19*

I would like to see some sort of swipe or flow through capabilities. Also the word correction/prediction is horrible and the import from Swiftkey does not seem to function. I absolutley love the customization I can do otherwise. Please dont stop improving it. You have the chance to make it the best one yet.

### 4/5 — Great customization keyboard

*2024-08-18, version 3.7.4*

Honestly even at the free version of allowing a dedicate number row to the keyboard is easily five stars in my book, but I bought the Premium version in-app so I will be reviewing that.
Value - For $7.99, ouch BUT it is a one time purchase. Unlike all of these monthly/yearly subscription here. I come from using Android as a daily driver, and using iOS on the SE 2022 as a backup.
Customization - It did take quite a time to get used to, but man the advanced options are great. The row height is such a game changer. The face I can remove that annoying Keyboard settings? Golden.
Export - Awesome for backing up layouts.
Autocorrect - Eh not the best.
Battery life - Time will tell.
No swipe text - I read on previous reviews that this app was made by two people and hard to implement. Still would love to see that on future versions.
What I wished (reason for 4 stars more instead of 5): Create some sort of lineage on the drag down symbols on main layout. I know the default follows the iOS symbols layout...but if I customized the Secondary layout I should have an option to follow that. Now since I have a customized Secondary layout, I need to go in and change 30+ keys for the drag down option. Also maybe this is an Apple First World Problem(TM) limitation, but having a button for password managers would be cool to look into. I noticed it would bring up the default keyboard and yuck to that layout. Again, if that’s just Apple being Apple, that’s fine.

### 2/5 — Nie działa.

*2024-07-05, version 3.7.3*

Nawet po kilkukrotnym restarcie i pełnym dostępie. Szkoda, bo wygląda dobrze.

### 3/5 — Что не так

*2024-06-27, version 3.7.2*

### 4/5 — Unstable recently

*2024-06-21, version 3.7.1*

Until recently, the keyboard worked flawlessly. However the past week, it keeps on crashing (switches to the default iOS keyboard during typing a message multiple times).
Need a fix quick!!!

### 3/5 — Question

*2024-04-30*

Why is the full access link allowing the developer to gather and use anything I type in the keyboard?
Just curious…
Will change review based on speed and answer to question.

**Developer response:** Hi, thanks for the question and review!

Full access enables communication between the keyboard and the main app, which is required to properly sync settings, layouts and themes to the keyboard.

For some reason, Apple also requires full access for features like haptic feedback (vibration) and playing sounds (typing sounds). Apple shows a warning before enabling full access, because due to opening a two-way communication channel between the keyboard and the main app, this could be abused to read key strokes from the user.

We do not collect any key strokes and use full access only for the purpose of making the keyboard work properly, and enabling features that depend on sync with the main app (sync explicitly excludes key strokes, it's only settings, layout and themes) and that are otherwise not possible.

We'd be happy if there was a way for us to provide these features without using the full access functionality, but we as the developers don't really have any other choice, even though we know this is a common source of confusion for our users. Sadly the only choice we have is a) using full access, or b) severely limiting the feature set of MyKeyboard.

We hope this answers your question!
Best, Marco from FiveSheep

### 4/5 — Really great concept. Execution needs work .

*2024-03-25*

I have been wanting a keyboard app like this ever since we first got the ability to install keyboards on IOS. As soon as i saw it i downloaded it and paid to unlock the customization. So far im loving it(and now i just realized i forgot to put an apostrophe on my keyboard. Hehe). The UI is a bit confusing but is vary usable once you get comfortable with it. It seems people are giving it one star because they don't want to pay the $4.99 to unlock the apps customization. I might suggest letting the free version be able to rearrange the premade rows and pick which ones they want but not edit individual keys. Just a suggestion . Cant wait for more updates to my favorite app thats come out in a vary long time!

**Developer response:** Thanks a lot for your feedback! We have released a huge update to address the usability issues. The app is a lot easier to use now, pricing is very clearly labeled and there are tons of new features. We hope you like it!

### 3/5 — Great whwn t comes up

*2024-01-25, version 3.4.8*

Love this keyboard not having to switch between numbers and letters is great but it keeps switching back to the native simple keyboard so you have to close the keyboard and re open to make it work again! Please fix this and it will be the best iphone keyboard!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Unusable. Corrects you incorrectly, over and over and over. Most important features paywalled.

*2025-10-15*

Where to begin? You still can't have a comma. You can't really customize individual buttons. All the most desirable features are paywalled. And the autocorrect? It's absurdly broken. Autocorrects words like "out" to "but". And doesn't learn from your corrections. Doesn't even let you correct it. This keyboard is so broken, unstable, and inconsistent. I also have certain options enabled, like emojis, but they're nowhere to be found when using the keyboard.

Horrible app. Horrible keyboard. Do NOT recommend.

### 1/5 — This keyboard

*2025-02-24, version 3.7.6*

This app is trash. If a word ends with an a, e, or an o that word turns to some sort of Chinese symbol..

### 1/5 — It makes no sense in a non-English-speaking country.

*2025-02-04, version 3.7.6*

It's a good idea, but the inability to set up a language change key in a non-English-speaking country living under sanctions, where purchases in the appstore are not available, makes it pointless to use your keyboard. It's a pity that you can't change the keyboard language layout in the free version.

### 1/5 — Bait and The Same Old

*2025-01-15*

The same limited customization as every other keyboard app. No key relocation. No row changes. You can change fonts, and change colors. You can turn keys and feature rows on and off. So what? Support doesn't offer an email, just a bunch of we're-cool back patting about being open source.

Look if I wanted to write a custom keyboad app I'd have done it. All I want is to move some keys.

Maybe rocket science key relocation is available in the paid verzion. But, since the differences aren't spelled out, I'm reluctant to pay ten dollars to find out.

**Developer response:** Hello, I'm not sure how you got the impression that our keyboard does not allow key relocation or row changes. That's literally the main feature of our keyboard, and you can even see it in the App Store video.

The keyboard builder when setting up the app for the first time is just a way to quickly get started with a basic layout. If you press the edit key, and choose advanced editing, you can literally move keys and rows around freely, and edit their contents in any way you want.

This feature is only available in the paid version, but it certainly exists and works. Free users can only access the simple keyboard builder, which honestly still allows for more cusfomization than most other keyboards.

Best,
FiveSheep Team

### 1/5 — Can’t even make my own keyboard

*2025-01-05, version 3.7.5*

The button to add new keys and row just doesn’t exist for whatever reason.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2024-05-14*

App does not work on iOs 17.4.1; it's stuck on the 5 step screen with no way to go to another screen, even after fully closing and reopening the app.

Edit: Problem still persists after a full phone restart.

**Developer response:** Edit: Did you enable MyKeyboard in the iOS settings? The keyboard has to be enabled before you can proceed to the main app.

Previous answer: Hi, have you tried restarting your phone? We haven't seen this problem yet, but sometimes iOS doesn't correctly register the keyboard until the phone is restarted.

### 1/5 — Unmaintained, garbage.

*2024-03-15, version 3.6*

Scary that this app suddenly started deleting everything. If I typed on another keyboard and switch to this one the backspace delete would erase the entire section. It is sad that the displayed keys don't actually function with the characters shown either. A huge disappointment as a recent convert from android, the lack of a good keyboard in the Apple world was a big deterrent.

Interesting response from the developer. Total bull from them as well. Too bad I didn't take video of my screen, I would've gladly made $100,000 bet. I always find it interesting that my tangible truth is denied by somebody who has a vested interest in my experiences being negated.

### 1/5 — No swipe

*2024-03-08, version 3.5*

No swipe to text?

### 1/5 — Needs lots of updates

*2022-10-29, version 3.3.1*

It needs lots of updates because it doesn't even predict from SwiftKey word.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Really good keyboard

*2025-09-09*

I'm not sure what the keyboard was like prior to the update it mentioned from a month ago but it's working really well for me and better than other keyboards I've used. I hope they continue updating te app, there's great themes and customization. I definitely like it more than board and swiftkey. I wish it we easier to find in she app store. The only thing I don't get is how to delete she autocorrect and replace wish my original spelling, it doesn't happen much but seems like it should be possible.

### 5/5 — Provides a split keyboard

*2025-01-04*

Provides the best split keyboard I have found since Apple took away the built-in split keyboard from newer iPads. Just spread apart the keyboard with 2 fingers.

### 5/5 — this is SO COOL

*2024-08-15, version 3.7.4*

this is one of the best keyboard games i ever played and LOOK! got hey keyboard: uχjbb ӻiiҕ მჲpp ðazz (English: ukhíbb ffīħ ğöp ðázz) cool app!

### 5/5 — Great app.

*2024-05-31*

This app is great. I have one feature suggestion, I would like to be able to type by swiping on the keyboard just like on the built-in keyboard on iPhone.

### 5/5 — The absolute best keyboard for IOS hands down!

*2024-04-03*

I wish I knew about this app before. It is very customizable and much better than Swiftkey. I love the ability to move the cursor with a key and being able to swipe down to enter the symbols at the top of each key. How do I donate or pay for this app to support the development?

**Developer response:** Wow that's great to hear, thank you so much!

There is no need to donate, but if you really love the app, why not tell some of your friends about it? Awareness about the app helps us the most :)

Please feel free to contact help@fivesheep.co if you want to talk to us about the app or its future, or have any questions.

### 5/5 — Best keyboard

*2024-02-20, version 3.4.10*

Skvělá klávesnice, kterou si můžu přetvořit podle svého. Děkuji

A great keyboard that I can customize. Thank you

### 5/5 — Best keyboard

*2023-11-19, version 3.4.6*

Klávesnice kde si mohu nakonfigurovat každou klávesu byla dlouhá léta můj sen, jen jsem netušil že se mi to jednoho dne splní.

A keyboard where I can configure every key has been a dream of mine for years, I just didn't know that one day it would come true.

### 5/5 — My new keyboard app

*2023-08-05*

So this is the only one I have found that gives me extra characters without extra rows. This replaced g-board for me since it has so many bigs and never updated. This uses the built in text replacement feature. Has a good swipe function, delete function and is very customizable for free.

Note: it does not know at first but does learn quickly, as others have stated. A easy work around is to create a text replacement and put the contract spelling (you're) and in the shortcut field (youre). Problem solved.

### 5/5 — Easy fuss free alternative

*2023-04-15, version 3.4.2*

Much prefer this keyboard over anything related like gboard. Can customise any key to do anything I want it to do, makes useage easy.

### 5/5 — Need more protection from foreign hackers.

*2023-04-13, version 3.4.2*

Need more protection from foreign hackers.
