Also it takes a long time to connect to my phone even if I am in the room. But otherwise really good and I like how you can change the colours. ### 3/5 — Poor setup process - but gets there in the end *2024-12-23, version 1.8.0* Having installed 4 different makes of Smart lightbulb, this one is undeniably the worst at trying to get to the end goal of making it work via Alexa. While it can eventually be found by enabling Alexa and WiFi etc, they really need some prompts in the system, (or better written instructions) i.e. to assist users to get there…like Lepro, Philips Hue and CALEX do! ### 2/5 — Loss of connection *2024-12-02, version 1.7.0* Port connection with daily loss of controls. ### 3/5 — Okay but needs improvement *2024-11-14, version 1.7.0* The physical lights are pretty good. I’m using an external floodlight. However the app is pretty basic and the scheduling doesn’t work. I connect it via Alexa and setup a routine using that system. However you can only select colours in Alexa and not scenes. Plus it doesn’t work with Apple HomeKit which is a shame. Still got a long way to go to catch up with Hue. ### 2/5 — Scheduling doesn’t work *2024-08-11, version 1.6.0* The app works to switch on but the scheduling feature won’t work at all. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Poor switchover plan *2026-01-21, version 1.12* Ridiculous that if you don’t switch to + on the switchover date the plugs will not only stop working but you can’t recover . At least the original app should still allow you to switch even if you can’t control the plug. VERY poor switchover setup. Will not use Myko device again…avoid ### 1/5 — Keeps turning on! *2025-12-06, version 1.11.1* Light appears to be nice quality, and easy to install. The app. Is easy to set up and use, but…. The light keeps switching on, with the status of the light also changing to ‘on” within the app. I’ve got another 2 a these lights waiting to install and was also considering buying another, but this issue is making me uncertain. Time and time again I’ve asked them over the space of a week and they just become unresponsive! One out of 5 will work. Then another day a different one or two might work and the others don’t. It’s constant!! Definitely wouldn’t buy these again!! ### 1/5 — When it works, it’s ok *2025-05-07, version 1.11.0* This app, more than all the others added together, fails regularly. Problems following updates, WiFi connection issues…very frustrating. It shouldn’t be so hard to make it stable. I currently have four Myko products and all 4 are currently ‘offline’, yet none of the other 15 things I have (via CALEX, Koogeek, Wiz, Resideo apps) are offline. Clearly a Myko error…but it gaslights you by telling you that it’s your WiFi that’s this issue! ### 1/5 — Meh *2025-02-26, version 1.9.0* App connected the bulb to WiFi easy enough, but unbelievable it’s not supported by iPhone shortcuts. I cannot believe that to change the light setting / temperature etc I need to go through the app instead of flicking some buttons on my shortcuts screen like with Tapo. Connected to Google Home also seems limited. Thats more a downside for Google Home app but again no way to select presets and changing brightness is a finnicky slider. Not that happy. I asked myko support and they simply responded “our app is not compatible with iOS shortcuts” That’s cool. My wallet isn’t compatible with your product. Returning for a refund. ### 1/5 — feb25 *2025-02-25, version 1.9.0* Purchased outdoor light that can change colours. When schedule is set to come on fault after 10 minutes of sunset it does not come on at all. It is showing as offline despite WiFi being connected? I have to switch it on manually with a switch by hand which defeats the point of spending more for a Smart light. This is not very smart unfortunately 1 star and dissatisfied ### 1/5 — Unreliable scheduled switching *2024-10-14, version 1.6.0* The scheduling is unreliable when switching Myko LED smart lamps. Some scheduled events turn lamps on ok but don’t switch them off and some events don’t turn lamps on. Must be the scheduling as there is a pattern to it (always the same scheduled events having the same problem? ### 2/5 — The new app causes lots of issues with transfer *2026-01-22, version 1.12* I had one socket on the this app which worked ok. Brought three more at a discount rate. The new app causes lots of issues. I can’t migrate to the new one as the sockets don’t work. Even myko don’t know the problem. No wonder the sockets are being discounted as they being discontinued. You can’t just add them to the new app and if they arnt migrated before the end of the January, they will not work. I have wasted countless hours trying I get them to work, seems that I’ve wasted my money. Very poor ### 2/5 — Phone support. *2026-01-20, version 1.12* After struggling with the migration of my smart plugs to the new app Myko+ contacted the Myko support team via their email request and within 24hrs I was contacted by a support engineer (Chris). Chris talked me through the correct migration process and helped with the automation settings to get the plugs running again. All plugs migrated ok and schedule set up. One observation is that the app is probably the least intuitive piece of software I have ever used…!! It has dropped the easy to use ‘schedule’ and replaced with ‘automation’ which is not at straight forward.. With the help of Chris everything is now back running.. Thank you ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — App works great, Myko+ does not, please sort it out *2025-12-24, version 1.12* Can add remote sockets on here, can’t on the new app and this app is due to stop working soon apparently :-/ ### 5/5 — Great Service *2025-12-08, version 1.12* I have had to get some information from customer support and they have always replied quickly I wish other support services were that good ### 5/5 — Globe Bulbs *2025-11-09, version 1.11.1* Used these type of bulbs with wall lights the switch is on the other wall so we control the bulbs with the Myko App really easy to set up and they connected instantly to the wifi no issues with these bulbs will look to change other bulbs around the house. They’re lovely - bright when needed but also I can have different colours and rotations when I’m having a bath. The Myko App works great with the bolds, but not with google. The Myko app on my iPhone works almost instant, but when connected to google home app. It’s slow (via voice command on my Google home hub). It’s 50/50 if it turns on/off ALL the lights (Normally turns off two of three lights), but for the price I’m happy. Most of the time I just use the light switch, but if want more (colours, different k) the app works.
