### 1/5 — Mostly designed to obstruct and delay

*2026-05-03, version 258.010*

This app seems custom designed by the City of Los Angeles to both obstruct the ability to get services or to delay providing services. Want to report illegal parking? I'm sorry, that's not an option, because we would really rather not enforce that. Please call 311 and wait at least an hour on hold. Other services take so long to provide that you might as well move if you really need them. Want to report a street light out? Thanks for your feedback. We will get to that in about a year.

### 1/5 — Was a good app

*2026-04-28, version 258.010*

Used to be an amazing app before the update. Now it doesn’t load most of the time and when it does you have to sign in 3 times to get anything done. Most of the time it just takes you to the city webpage anyway to make the request.

### 1/5 — One star- another thing the city does well (not)!

*2026-04-25, version 258.010*

Non functional— app doesn’t email the code. Now I have to call. Not sure what’s worse.

### 1/5 — Unresponsive - Understaffed?

*2026-04-22, version 258.010*

I’ve made multiple requests over the past few months regarding sewage that has been left standing in our street. The smell is awful and it is a health risk. I made the request under the appropriate category and I just continue to be passed along to various departments with no results.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2026-04-17, version 258.010*

God I hate LA

### 1/5 — Bugs

*2026-04-16, version 258.010*

This application will not let me enter my account number for DWP.

### 1/5 — Website and App are terrible

*2026-04-09, version 258.010*

Website has just gotten worse. It routes you to unnecessary pages and now requires link up to LADWP number but just sends you to a loop. App is exactly the same. You can’t even tell it’s the app and it doesn’t cut out any steps.
Calling turned out to be the easiest and Diana was lovely and efficient.

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-03-27, version 258.010*

Just spent the last hour trying to update the app. This site doesn’t recognize my email address and, despite saying that they have sent a password code, I’ve spent the last half hour trying to find the email they insist they sent. I guess I will just start over and open a new account. Not the way this is supposed to work…

### 1/5 — App problematic

*2026-03-20, version 258.010*

App fails to load.

### 1/5 — That’s a joke app

*2026-03-10, version 258.010*

It’s just linking you to the website
The app works as browser
So stupid development and nonsense

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work!!

*2026-02-26, version 258.010*

The app, just like the website, doesn’t let me create a password. It keeps showing an error.

### 1/5 — Old app was much better

*2026-02-17, version 258.010*

The prior MyLA 311 app worked great. This ‘improvement’ is horrible as it’s not mobile optimized, my requests don’t seem to show up & the navigation is not intuitive. Not to mention things like graffiti requests take forever when they used to take a few days. Can’t tell if that’s because the app isn’t working or because the city cut funding.

### 1/5 — Embarrassing.

*2026-02-04, version 258.010*

For a City as big as this to have an app as bad as this is just embarrassing. If you can get to the reports possibly they do follow up on them, but like I said if you can get. It feels like the app was designed and created by an intern. Basic functions do not exist buttons do not appear. Intuitive UI.? not there.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-01-30, version 258.010*

This app is total garbage. After I set my email and user name it said something went wrong and try later. I tried the next day and some thing. Waste of taxpayers dollars

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work - useless

*2026-01-29, version 258.010*

Previous app worked great. This is so frustrating. Impossible to make a service request. Wants my LADWP account number, but will not let me provide it. Wish I could give negative stars.

### 1/5 — This app stinks

*2026-01-26, version 258.010*

Totally useless. Trying to request anything such as bulky item pickup results in circular references that go no where.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work now

*2026-01-16, version 258.010*

How incompetent do you have to be to mess up an app that works just fine?

### 1/5 — Useless Downgraded App

*2026-01-15, version 258.010*

This app used to be pretty good, but then they updated it and it’s become useless. You can no longer easily track service requests and you can’t cancel service requests anymore. Whoever redesigned this app should never work in app design again.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — What’s the point

*2026-09-02, version 258.010*

The old app at least worked. This requires me to call in every service request and wait an hour for a call back. What a waste of tax dollars.

### 1/5 — Complete trash!

*2026-08-19, version 258.010*

Used to be a great app that worked. Now it is complete trash. I need to make a request to the city to come pick up this app as illegal dumping.

### 1/5 — Neolithic Incompetence

*2026-08-09, version 258.010*

They had a working app, even though it was a bit sluggish before, and they’ve turned this into garbage. I didn’t think it was possible to screw up this badly, but they they’ve all done themselves. It’s just what happens when you have people that have no idea what they’re doing, and they have no business designing anything. The person who was involved with this wouldn’t know UX if they got hit by it!

### 1/5 — Trash containers

*2026-07-07, version 258.010*

The app keeps taking my in circles to report I need a new container because the wheels fell off today when the truck stopped it. The app asked me to sign in and then wants a new sign in for my account number. But the app won’t let me enter it.

### 1/5 — App does not work

*2026-06-22, version 258.010*

Really Los Angeles? You can’t give us an app that works? The city council needs to take this seriously! Our streets are full of trash and being used as dumping grounds. Sidewalks are cracked. Streetlights are out. Graffiti is blighting our parks and beaches. Take a small percentage of our local taxes and give us an app that actually works!

### 1/5 — Bring back the old app

*2026-06-05, version 258.010*

I agree with many others here that the old app was far superior to this new one. It doesn’t even recognize me. I tried to open the app using the same name and password I’ve always used. It doesn’t seem to recognize either. I tried resetting the password and it won’t send a new code. Now I can’t ask for services.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-06-03, version 258.010*

You can’t report anything. Useless app.

### 1/5 — Inefficient App- needs overhaul.

*2026-06-01, version 258.010*

I’ve used this app since it was created. It’s a hit or miss, mostly miss especially if you want to report illegal traffic concerns like the safety of citizens and school kids because of excessive speeding on your street; request for traffic calming, neighborhood watch signs, etc all get rejected. After spending time submitting reports, attaching photo evidence, and filling out all the forms in the app it gets rejected because they’ll refer you to a different entity with “Case closed: please report to LAPD or DOT” which is a shame because the app should have the ability to forward these already submitted reports automatically to the correct entities instead of closing the case and telling the user to start over again somewhere else especially since the app allows you to select categories and service requests that they know they will never deal with.

### 1/5 — Pure garbage

*2026-05-22, version 258.010*

Nothing but errors. Deleted it after 5 minutes of downloading. Our tax dollars at work! SMH

### 1/5 — Buggy app has gotten worse with each update

*2026-05-10, version 258.010*

No surprise that the least functional major city in the US has an app that is significantly worse than the original version launched years ago. Bad graphics, problems with the location function, errors, and almost zero follow through by city departments.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great

*2026-01-29, version 258.010*

I reported some illegal dumping at about dinner time and by 9am the next day it was all cleaned up. So the data’s getting to the right people and I found it very easy to report. Also had a pothole fixed through it. Really nice. Have used it 3-4 times over the last 2 years and it’s been great each time. Too bad people tanked the ratings because of a bug, which was clearly temporary. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — So easy

*2025-06-19, version 14.010*

I’ve only used the app for bulky pick-up. It’s just so easy, straightforward and takes only a moment.

### 5/5 — Great idea

*2025-04-04, version 1.0*

Overall a great idea and it’s quick and easy to submit issues you see locally. I wish the UI was slightly better, but we’re moving in the right direction. I quickly submitted 3 issues near my home in under a minute each

### 5/5 — Easier to Navigate

*2025-04-03*

I used the old app a bunch of times and it was good but I like this version more. I have a problem with illegal dumping and it’s the first thing I saw logging into the updated version. Easy to navigate in my opinion. I don’t have any complaints and the mapping feature is easier to use in this version.

### 3/5 — Update or no update

*2026-06-27, version 258.010*

I have used this app many times and am glad to say it has worked to make notifications and reports many times. However it is currently telling me repeatedly that I need to update the app. When I try there are no updates available. When I check the App Store it says that the last update was 7 months ago. Something needs fixing, but not by me.

### 3/5 — DOES NOT SEND VERIFICATION CODE

*2025-08-20, version 256.000*

I am having issues signing into this newer MyLA 3-1-1 app account. My email and or password is not matching and then when I approach signing in with “forgot password” the verification code NEVER arrives in my email. I have tried repeatedly as well as checked my Junk folder. I NEED to request a city service and this newer app issue has stopped me from being able to do it with this verification code fault.

### 3/5 — Needs a way to cancel service requests

*2025-07-25, version 256.000*

The new update removed the option to cancel a service request. To avoid inconvenience, please add it back. Additionally, add a contact email for users to contact if any issues arise.

### 3/5 — The app changed, and not for the better. But things are improving.

*2025-04-05, version 1.0*

UPDATE: it was a rocky rollout but things seem to be improving. Hopefully it remains stable and I can come back in and indicate this new version is superior to the old. So far I haven’t seen it.

### 3/5 — Bad but not that bad

*2025-04-05*

This UI definitely has a learning curve. You can report anonymously without putting your info and you can sign in but it is not obvious. Once you select yes, on the report anonymously toggle, you can click continue without filling out your information. But there is no sign to indicate that that’s the case. The landing pledge clearly looks like a website, and there are no buttons to toggle between a login page and services. The buttons at the top of the screen do not work. But you can login if you tap the menu three lines in the top left-hand corner of the screen and stay logged in. But again this is not obvious! Also, when you click upload it does give you the option to take a photo in app. So all the features have been preserved, but they are labeled in a misleading way that might lead us to believe that we have to do more work than we did previously. You can zoom in on the map, but that might also zoom in the page and leave you completely zoomed in altogether, which is frustrating. I can see that they’ve added a few extra questions that might be helpful to some people, but in general, this feels like a lateral move from one somewhat clunky app to a new somewhat clunky app. But I did want to set the record straight that the features that have been complained about in other reviews as being missing are in fact still there they’re just harder to find.

### 2/5 — More difficult

*2025-08-14, version 256.000*

It was easier to use before. It’s difficult to log into. I’ve already created an account and it’s asking me to do it again and now it won’t let me.
