### 4/5 — This app makes LA residents part of the solution

*2025-01-15*

Since I started using this app, every request or complaint I've filed has been resolved within the appropriate business days.

Bulk trash scheduling, complaints about homeless encampments, clearing sidewalks turned dumpster due to lack of maintenance by private owners, water pipes broke, hazardous electrical cables.

I am so glad technology like this is part of our beautiful city care!

As of 2023, Los Angeles City alone had an estimated population of 3,820,914. This makes it the second-most populated city in the United States after New York City.

Add to it the number of irresponsible and reckless individuals in this gigantic place, and I can perfectly understand how public resources get stretched thin, especially when many wealthy private citizens also take advantage of public resources for the benefit of their businesses without equitably giving back to the community.

I love this app and highly recommend it to every Los Angeles resident. I am happy I can use this technology to help care for the city and support the public institutions on its front lines.

Keep up the good work, and keep improving (I would like to be able to add videos).

Best regards

### 2/5 — Not working

*2024-12-29, version 3.65*

App wants to work when it wants is very frustrating it continues to say an incorrect address was entered which I have used it before and no matter what address I put down continues to say the same

### 4/5 — Could be more useful

*2024-11-04, version 3.64*

The list of items for bulky item pickup/illegal dumping should have at least an “other” option.

### 2/5 — Mostly useless

*2024-10-06*

This app seems to have every service that you would never need, along with none of the services you do need. You can file a 311 report for palm fronds - you read that correctly - but if you want to file a noise complaint, you'll need to call and spend 30 minutes on hold. Maybe design this app around what people actually need rather than what is convenient for city departments?

### 2/5 — Incorrect Phone Numbers • Remove Need To Call

*2024-08-18*

I see two traffic signals that are completely dark. When I go to report them in the app, it leads you to a separate page that list all the situations where you will need to call the emergency center. When you hit the button to call, the greeting says that it's only for parking enforcement or needing to request parking enforcement. So the phone number is incorrect, or the greeting is incorrect. You all need to remove the need to make phone calls. We're driving there's gotta be an easier way.

### 3/5 — Bad signal

*2024-05-06, version 3.62*

I am writing this review to report an issue with the in-app GPS being unable to pick up your exact location when creating a service request. Please fix this as soon as possible.

### 2/5 — Breaks with every iOS update

*2024-04-09, version 3.61*

Having an app like this is nice for residents, but it becomes unusable every time there’s an iOS update. Most dev cycles account for this- read the new release documentation, etc- not sure why LA city/county does not.

### 4/5 — Got my alley light fixed!

*2023-12-28*

Sure, my alley streetlamp didn’t show up on the map, but I was able to upload photos of it and the comments field helped me ensure that my request was described correctly. I submitted the request Friday night and my street lamp was fixed by Wednesday night! This was during Christmas weekend too, all in all I’m satisfied and will use this app again. Btw my street lamp was out for months before my friend advised me to use this app. Wish more people knew about this app, maybe then we would see more of our tax dollars at work.

### 2/5 — Terrible app, always buggy

*2023-11-04, version 3.59*

App seldom works and it’s been totally unusable the last 5 days. It’s been years. How can this app not work consistently with basic functionality? Please improve.

### 2/5 — Still waiting for street lights to turn on

*2023-08-04, version 3.57*

There are five street lights in a row that are out on Main Street between third and fourth. I have made many requests.I’ll keep trying but if there were apps in 1985 this would be an app from 1985 and regardless of the apps quality nothing is happening in this section of Main St. los angeles is dark. The only reason I am in the App Store is because the app says I can’t use it until I upgrade yet I am using the current version.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2023-08-04, version 3.57*

Trying to place an order for replacement of my trash containers. The app isn’t letting me, it says I need to update the app. The app is up to date, I guess its just doesn’t want to creat any work orders.

### 3/5 — Dj

*2023-08-03, version 3.57*

For some reason it keeps telling me to update app but it is already up to date and won’t let me submit a request

### 1/5 — Can’t open tickets.

*2023-08-03, version 3.57*

The developers of this app are terrible, this app is junk.

### 2/5 — App is not working by design

*2023-08-03, version 3.57*

The city does not want to fix the issues so they put out a flawed app. Your complaints don’t go through. It’s the design to make you frustrated and give up. Thanks Karen bass.

### 1/5 — Unable to submit request through app.

*2023-08-03, version 3.57*

Just downloaded the app.
Tried to submit a request.
Says I need to update the app.
I JUST DOWNLOADED THE APP.
How could there be an updated version?

Deleted the app - reinstalled the app.
Same problem.

Fix the app.

### 1/5 — The app is broken

*2023-08-03, version 3.57*

As of the writing of this review, 8/3/23, you can’t submit any request in the app. No matter what option you select, you get a prompt that says “Error: app must be updated.” And then you download the update and nothing changes.

It says they did an update on the app 3 days ago. Whatever they did, they broke it.

### 1/5 — Needs improvement 7-5-23

*2023-07-06, version 3.56*

You should have a way to upload and album and multiple pictures and there shouldn’t be a limit on how many pictures can be uploaded

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Another LA City Fail

*2025-02-19, version 3.67*

I’m technically saavy. This app is terrible. Users are encouraged to login using LADWP credentials, yet the app doesn’t recognize them (I tested them on the LADWP website and same credentials work there). The app times out, giving the user an error message that it must be connected to WiFi, notwithstanding that the phone is connected to WiFi.

### 1/5 — Garbage. Pure garbage

*2025-02-08, version 3.67*

This looks and feels
Like it was built by the lowest bidder, then quickly abandoned. LA City government looks incompetent.

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2025-01-07, version 3.66*

When submitting a request, the location is never found.

### 1/5 — Unstable, Slow, Garbage.

*2024-12-29, version 3.65*

Evidently incompetence extends to this app for lack of stability.

Failed to fetch submitted request details
Please try again later
Error code = 1001

I’m on wi-fi. Knucklehead devs

### 1/5 — Service request ignored

*2024-09-25*

I made 4 service request over 18 months ago regarding several street lights that have been out. These lights had already been inoperable for several months before I made the request. The service request are still labeled open and no one has come to fix any of the lights on Los Angeles St. In Downtown LA. I spoke with some city workers in person about 8 months ago that were fixing some lights around the corner whom said that wasn't their jurisdiction but that they would make sure the appropriate team got the message. They said that people steal the copper wires from the lights andtheys why they don't work even after they are fixed supposedly it happened again. I could make a list of possible resolutions to this but whats the point if the request are to be ignored?!

### 1/5 — App stopped working

*2024-02-28, version 3.60*

I can no longer request services through the app. The date details of service no longer works in the app. Going to uninstall and reinstall, fingers crossed.

### 1/5 — Map broken and no way to report a bug

*2023-09-18, version 3.58*

The map is broken for many different functions and there’s no way to report a bug other than leaving a bad review and hoping someone sees it

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-08-04, version 3.57*

You can report all you want, the filth and rats will never be cleaned because the people that work for the city are Rats themselves.

### 1/5 — Now the app isn’t working at all

*2023-08-04, version 3.57*

I’ve been using this app for years without any problems, and all of a sudden it keeps telling me that I need to update the app in order to use the program. I went so far as to completely uninstall and do a fresh reinstall this app, and it still doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — DOESN’T UPDATE

*2023-08-04, version 3.57*

I’ve been trying to use the app to report a homeless camp and it keeps telling me to update the app - problem is iOs says it’s the most updated version.

Ya’ll need to fix this.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Efficient

*2024-03-19, version 3.61*

My311 LA works wonders!
I love it here
(:

### 5/5 — Strong Step in the Right Direction

*2024-03-01*

MyLA311 is a strong step in the right direction towards creating a more responsive city. It’s a terrific and user friendly App to report problems and issues to the City of Los Angeles. I recently reported an issue. A service request # was generated and used to track the progress of the reported issue. Furthermore, email updates are sent as well. Most importantly, my issue was resolved within 48 hours.

### 5/5 — Street light repair at Huston Street and Whitsett Avenue and the 4900 block of Whitsett Avenue

*2023-07-31, version 3.57*

Hi! I have made a request for streetlight repair on Huston Street and Whitsett Avenue What is the status on my request?

### 5/5 — Performed perfectly!

*2023-04-18, version 3.54*

Our tax dollars at work!

### 5/5 — Brush Clearance Account

*2022-03-28, version 3.50*

The status of my property is in compliance maintaining my property at 17254 Avenida De La Herradura, Pacific Pslisades, CA 90272-2003 in accordance with L.A.M.C Section57.322 in year round responsibility. Sent by William C Leong, owner of such property.

### 5/5 — They are fast

*2021-04-03*

I have reported 3 illegal dumpings of bulky items and each request for removal was completed within a week. It’s not the most attractive interface, but it’s effective and better than tracking down city department numbers!

### 5/5 — Thank you city of Los Angeles

*2020-09-02*

This app is beyond helpful in so many ways and makes living here easier and cleaner. Appreciate it, yes some map functions could be better but overall very well done!

### 5/5 — Great way to make a difference

*2019-10-06*

Stop complaining that the city and it’s bureaucrats and politicians don’t do anything! You can use this app to report all kinds of public nuisances, and be completely amazed when things get fixed in less than a week. I have great success reporting potholes, tags, and badly parked scooters. Scooters will be picked up in hours, tags and potholes within a week.
Now, if we could only dial in an option for parking enforcement. With the camera and geolocation built in, all the information parking enforcement needs is right there in the app, but for some reason, we still have to call in, and wait for an operator, to report someone blocking a driveway.

### 5/5 — Street Resurfaced

*2019-01-19*

Our block needed to be resurfaced for years. Things were so bad that any car that passed at regular speed limit would get some serious damage. Then I came across this app and decided to try it. 3 weeks later our street was fixed. I would definitely recommend it.

### 5/5 — Great way to communicate with LA services

*2018-10-20*

I have used this app to report numerous graffiti removal requests to great success. Sometimes I am informed “it’s not their department,“ but then directed to the correct personal. It’s not perfect, but I really appreciate this app and the service of the people who receive my messages.

Thank you.
