I am managing more than 100k Photos with Mylio and am mostly happy. However, for bugs or problems that I reported I never got a response. So don‘t count on getting help if you use the app.

This app joins a crowded field of photo management apps for iPad/Mac, but the feature set certainly does not justify paying $240 per year.  There are other cross-platform apps available for less than half the yearly sub for Mylio.

最后，我还想知道，它的同步云是端到端加密的吗？也就是说 Mylio 是否完全无法看到我的数据内容？

I love the concept of Mylio. I’ve been using it for a few years now. However, there are several critical bugs and missing features that Mylio refuses to address, or get backlogged. For the high price tag that Mylio charges, they should really step up their development team and provide a clear roadmap, driven by customers. Let us vote on what new things are added so time isn’t wasted on features no is asking for. And prioritize bug fixes that critically impact peoples ability to use the app. If these things are done, my rating will increase and I will once again be able to recommend Mylio to others.

I purchased a crucial back up drive. It had a  3 month code for mylio. I wasn’t sure how to just back up all the things myself. So i thought i would give it a try. I uploaded 1x, i rcvd am email starting my trial period was almost over and to contact them. I literally just started the account. I also made the mistake of trying to back up my iPad, which Mylio the syncd and ran my iPad out of space. I just wanted to download any pics i might have had on the iPad and not my phone. I was hoping to back up other file types as well, but i can’t find that in mylio. I just need to do research on how to physically do it myself i guess. I’m a little disappointed in Crucial, i love their gear and have done business with them before. For the price of the drive, i wish they would have given other options/ offers/ instructions and definitely longer than 3 month trial.

Ich wollte Mylio testen und hab die App heruntergeladen. Aber schon der Start ein schlechtes Erlebnis. Egal mit welcher Mail Adresse ich versuche, ich bekomme NIE eine Mail mit Zahlencode zugestellt. Und auch nichts im Spam. So wird das nichts, schlecht. Sehr schlecht.

Die App stürzt unmittelbar nach dem Start ab, nachdem ich die Gesichtserkennung bei 3 Personen aktiviert habe. Das ist ein Kernfeature der App. So leider nutzlos!

I got excited when I first learned about Mylio—it appeared to be what I was looking for. After downloading their desktop version and reading their documentation it referred to a 30-day free trial for Mylio+. However, clicking on the link, they offered only a 7-day trial. I contacted their online support about this, and I was offered a link that would provide the 30-day free trial. But this link also only gave me the 7-day trial & then I would be charged $99. I feel this is a case of bait & switch. It’s unfortunate that they still advertise a 30-trial in their documentation, but don’t honor it. Just the same, it appears that this is a very good app and I look forward to learning all its capabilities.

This would be great if it actually worked, but it just completely glitches out on iPhone.  It completely freezes up and won't let me scroll past the first couple of photos in my camera roll.  If it actually worked the way it is described, it would be a wonderful app but I can't get any of the features on it to work at all.

While this has nothing to do with the movie and the story of unconditional love. It's got everything to do with my experience of using this app. The app won't do anything at all. There's no evidence that it's running but somehow they said cookies had to be planted for it to work and it's not. It was said to be the app of choice for thow who love order in their galleries. It seems I headed for the gallows. Speak of over promising and under performance

I joined MyLio+ 2 years ago and invested a lot of time into organizing and syncing my catalog.  It all worked great until it was time to renew.  I was charged twice for the renewal and their prices skyrocketed.  I had to file a dispute on the second charge but they deactivated my account (I still paid for a year). Then , I couldn’t get the software to work— I’ve spent many hours messaging and emailing them to correct this, but it constantly says I have to join MyLio+ in order to use a an external drive.  It doesn’t recognize that I already joined and paid.  The website is a maze of disconnected pages, and it’s difficult to get a customer service person who understands the issue or to even get to a help page.  It’s a great concept but the design and support are very lacking.  Disappointed and frustrated.

Was really enjoying it, until I try to put an external hard drive, and then this pop-up screen telling you to subscribe to their monthly service. Now in the middle of transferring photos from your hd is useless. One-time purchase, I’ll think about it; Monthly service and blocking my photos, no way!

Mylio hat sich zu meinem wichtigsten Tools für das geräteübergreifende Management meiner Bilder entwickelt (seit längerem auch in deutscher Sprache). Unverzichtbar. Fotos werden direkt nach der Aufnahme sofort auf allen anderen verbundenen Geräten verfügbar. Und in worst case Szenarien war Mylio in der Lage, automatisch meine komplette Bibliothek wiederherzustellen. Das Konzept mit “Tresor” (”Vault”) und unterschiedlichen Gerräteprofilen ist anfangs gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber man lernt es schnell.

Mylio allows me to keep full control over my photos, whereas all the big tech corps try to lock users in more and more, and give users less and less control about how their images are used, esp. with their free offerings. Despite being a small company, Mylio has proven themselves responsive and reliable in the past, with a human support team.

### 5/5 — Surprised Mylio isn’t better known—it’s tops!

Mylio is the first app, of any sort, that I’ve been excited about in a long while. I just spent 2 months importing and organizing my 150K photos and video that I’ve created using 15 or so cameras through my decades of photography. I’ve never wanted to splurge on cloud services so my Apple Images app as well as the 2TB cloud Apple provides, has only been for my iPhone photos. But years of scanned film prints, DSLR, and mirror-less, has been stuffed away in folders. I used Aperture quite awhile back but that allowed multiple drives—Photos doesn’t. And Lightroom cloud costs too much. So, haven’t really had a solution.

Until now.

I have a 60 TB QNAP NAS that I use for various data as well as video editing and storing my 8 TB or so of photos and video. Fortunately, it supports Amazon S3 and it’s supported by Mylio, as well. So, just a few clicks and my entire collection was online, with my own personal cloud. My laptop, iPhone and iPad can access everything I’ve ever shot, using optimized images and full res available with just a click. It’s really well thought out and a joy to use. What seemed like a daunting task, organizing my 150K assets, was actually pretty easy using all the tools provided, including both ratings, colors (for other one click categorization, and “picks”. I didn’t think I’d use the colors but today I wanted a quit way to designate a photo as one with nobody I recognize, to come back to late. And bam, colors saved the day. It’s got a really handy comprehensive list of every camera as well as every photo it’s taken. Multi-folders, allowing Finder organization with industry standard XMP means that if Mylio disappeared tomorrow my collection would still be well sorted and ready for another app. With no dependence or difficulty getting my assets usable again.

Can’t say enough positive stuff about this app—wish I’d discovered it years ago!

I love this app, which allow us to manage and edit photos, keep them in the cloud, while still keeping a synced copy on my computer, with the same folder hierarchy I maintain for years. 
It’s not that easy to configure, I admit, but it’s the cost to have a powerful tool.

This app is wonderful! It provides everything and more for all of your photo needs i have no complaints whatsoever. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it doesn’t let me scroll threw my photos using my magic keyboards Trackpad. . . I think the $10 monthly subscription just to do what the app was made to do is wild & should only apply to people using the online cloud storage feature. . The app does make transferring a breeze but i cant justify the $10 monthly just to do the things it was meant to do in the first place. . . I love the app but $10 monthly with bare minimum to no support for the Magic Keyboard might force me to look for alternative options. . . Overall i love the app, just PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE work on better Keyboard support. . . its almost 2025! ! THANK YOU!!!

### 5/5 — Fantastic but it does have a steep learning curve

Extremely capable application with lots of features. This is the only app I’ve found that allows me to keep a common photo library across all devices regardless of the operating system. Despite their extensive manual and online help, the program is tough to learn and takes some trial and error to fully understand how it works. Once you get it it is amazingly powerful and flexible. I recommend it but take your time learning how to use it.

Revised Review: Now that I have taken the time to work through Mylio Photos Fundamentals (about 75 videos), I have a much better understanding of the potential Mylio+ offers, and I’m pretty impressed. This is the app for organizing my photos I have been looking for. My MacBook, iPad, iPhone, and two vaults are synced—very nice. My only complaint is that a 30-day free trial to Mylio Photos+ is offered in their online Manual and Fundamentals course, but in reality, they will give only a 7-day trial, which is unfortunate.

I’ve had and tried just about every photo organizer app available and had yet to find one that fits my needs…until Mylio. I can keep all my photos (gigabytes worth) on my desktop and be able to see ALL my photos on both my phone and my tablet. I can sort events using the Albums which gives me freedom to rearrange the photos and then rename them all so that they show up correctly in my photo explorer if I want to use that for some reason. I can easily update time stamps and dates if a picture date was overwritten somehow. I just found the way to see the titles and descriptions added on my phone so I can scroll thru and see the info quickly. LOVE everything about it. And can also keep all our devices synced with the plus version so all the photos are always available!

### 5/5 — Free Alternative to Lightroom

Mylio is an excellent photo management system which allows you to manage your photos across all your devices by using your local area network. No need to upload or store your photos in the cloud. It has lots of functions such as deduplication, declutter, face recognition and tagging, object recognition, and some editing features (though not as many as Lightroom). Editing is nondestructive so you always keep the original.You can read more about the app in the description. I found it whilst looking for an alternative to Adobe Light room and really liked it. Most of these features are included free on one device. If you want to link multiple devices and access other features such as vaults storage or shared Spaces then you pay $9.99 per month. It’s around the same price as a Lightroom subscription. Originally I switched because it was free but I decided to pay the subscription after a few weeks to benefit from the extra features. I like the app, the premium support, the onboarding and tutorials and so far I am happy with my decision to switch.

I don’t normally write reviews but since this app only had only two stars and one not very complimentary review I thought I would make an exception to the rule. I hope this helps somebody to try it for themselves.

Uns war es wichtig, dass wir unsere Fotos sicher zuhause haben und nicht auf einer externen Cloud. Eine Sammlung von drei Generationen mit ca. 70.000 Medien aus gescannten Papierbildern, Dias, digitalen Fotos und Videos zu organisieren ist keine leichte Aufgabe. Nach unzähligen Fehlversuchen haben wir hierzu mit Mylio die perfekte Lösung für uns gefunden. 
Auf unseren Reisen genießen wir das gute Gefühl, dass unsere Originale mit Mylio bereits sicher zu Hause sind, bevor wir zurückkommen. Die schönsten Schnappschüsse werden schon unterwegs bewertet und in Alben sortiert und können ohne viel Aufwand mit Freunden und Familie geteilt werden. 
Die KI ist bei der Verschlagwortung eine tolle Unterstützung und mit der zuverlässigen Gesichtserkennung ein tolles Orga Tool. 
Wann immer im Freundeskreis oder bei Familienfeste die Frage kommt: weißt du noch? Haben wir unsere komplette Fotosammlung in der Hosentasche dabei. Mylio macht einfach viel Spaß.
