Have to pay :(

### 3/5 — It’s ok

*2025-10-31, version 1.5.5*

It’s ok, there’s intervals and chords, but I wish there were more like- terms, ornaments and more…

### 3/5 — Okay

Hi can add more stee

### 5/5 — Best way to practice theory

*2024-12-31, version 1.5.5*

I’ve been using this app for over a couple years now and out of all of the others music theory apps out there, this one helped me understand the fundamental concepts with proficiency and understanding. I use each practice session as a way to keep my knowledge in check but this app is also great for instrument practice too! I use different scale or chord exercises on the app and use my piano or guitar to play them. This app is really easy to learn beginner techniques with but the skill ceiling can get pretty high as one advances towards different scale, chord and interval types across a variety of ledger lines. It’s the best music theory app and definitely support them by buying its full version!

### 4/5 — missing something

*2024-11-16, version 1.5.5*

i haven’t been using this very long so i don’t have much to say aside from that i’m english and we call notes values different names

i saw that in settings i can change the notes CDEFGAB to others e.g. DoReMiFaSoLaTi but i can’t call the note values crotchets and minims and stuff

overall okay so far!!

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2024-08-20, version 1.5.4*

I have been trying to learn music for years but always start then get distracted by something.
Previously I wrote some staves on flip cards with the notes and used them to test myself, but it took a long time to draw them all and I lost them when I moved house.

This app let’s me test myself recognising notes on a stave without having all the work of making my own flip cards. It also has other tests on rests and semitones etc which are also great.
Frequent testing is the best way to learn.
This app shows you what you got right, what you got wrong, and how long you took to answer all the questions, which is perfect for me to learn how to read music accurately and at speed.

This time I will finish what I started and achieve my goals.

### 5/5 — This app is incredible for Music Theory

*2024-06-12, version 1.5.4*

It makes Music Theory (a notoriously difficult subject to learn) easy and digestible. It gives you the tool and works to use but you need to know how to use them. There’s a lot of math involved but it makes it clear and understandable

### 5/5 — Review

### 5/5 — Great training app for new piano players

*2024-04-06, version 1.5.4*

Very helpful

### 5/5 — Great review of semitones and whole 🎶

*2024-01-27, version 1.5.3*

I learned the common semitones and whole notes❤️

### 5/5 — Awesome app teacher

*2024-01-26, version 1.5.3*

I gotta say this app is super handy I had a problem with teaching my self notes on sheet music for piano. Thanks to this app I practice through out the day when I have a break from work. I been wanting to learn scales and this app literally teaches it all and has so much content to go through truly a amazing app and want to thank the developers for helping me learn the piano and making me a better player.

### 4/5 — Great for rote memorization of music notation

*2023-12-24, version 1.5.3*

Title

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — REVERT IT BACK

*2026-07-11, version 1.5.5*

I paid for this and after the update the app has lost a lot of its benefits, I’d be willing to pay more £10 to have the exact same old layout as before not this updated version, I liked the sounds plus the overall system from before where you tap to identify notes until you finish the song with recorded times, please introduce that again and I will buy the fee, until then I really dislike the update

### 1/5 — No logic nor correct teaching/ testing.

*2025-03-13, version 1.5.5*

Many interval quizzes make no sense. Example: It asks for the second interval in D# which is enharmonically equivalent to Eb but requires to double sharp notes and makes things complicated. Why ask questions about a scale that is not even on the circle of fifths? Or E#.. which is F.

### 1/5 — H note?

*2025-02-04, version 1.5.5*

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the exercises in this app include an H note, and any music training I’ve ever had was for a scale with A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. This makes the lessons impossible to complete when the choices for the note A don’t include A but rather H.

### 1/5 — Non British terminology,

*2025-01-30, version 1.5.5*

Unfortunately this app uses American terminology which differs quite significantly from UK

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2024-03-20, version 1.5.4*

I am a piano teacher and the notes are incorrect! You will be learning the wrong note names!

### 1/5 — Don’t upgrade-waste of £8

*2023-01-11, version 1.5.1*

Bought the premium version to use for a student who couldn’t download the Tenuto app I use as its apple only.

Premium version seems to have no more real adaptability than free version. No way to properly customize exercises and practice just duplicates the lesson practice ones. Poor layout and student hated it (but loves the fully interactive and customizable Tenuto app)

Would like a refund please!

PS experienced music teacher and use technology daily so I know this is a free app and not worth upgrading. Much better out there

### 1/5 — Don’t use this app, it teaches incorrect notation

*2022-02-03, version 1.4.7*

I was checking out this app to potentially recommend to a student and immediately found a lot of the answers were just wrong. At one point it said that A sharp and A flat are the same note. Not every answer was erroneous but enough that using this app would quickly teach you the wrong way to read music notation, which is highly problematic.

### 1/5 — Shocking spelling

*2021-09-06, version 1.4.4*

The spelling and grammar in this app are appalling! Impossible to use, and they want to charge more for premium services!

### 2/5 — WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!

*2026-01-28, version 1.5.5*

If you want someone to actually like your app don’t put a big “WRONG!” When someone is learning. This is the equivalent of an awful extremely negative professor or jerk teacher that makes children quit before they even get going. Just show the correct answer and move on. This needs to have a way to be turned off or removed altogether it’s discouraging and unnecessary.

### 2/5 — Did not realize you had to pay to get the full experience

*2026-01-07, version 1.5.5*

I started the first section and it was very helpful, but then I couldn’t continue without paying.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Eleana

*2026-08-08, version 1.5.5*

Very helpful on the go, amazing

### 5/5 — yes yes yes

*2026-05-19, version 1.5.5*

i have been playing an instrument and going to courses for it for 5 years, and also have went to two choir conducting seminars, which both have dreadful theory classes that are very long, in a language that i only half understood. never really understood any of it , because i didn’t care, now im trying to get back into piano and figured i should sharpen my theory , and man this app is great! i can actually understand what i’m learning, and i like how you can do as many questions as you want so you can get as much practice as you need .

### 5/5 — Music student.

*2026-04-03, version 1.5.5*

This is great practice for sight reading notes on the staff.

### 5/5 — Music theory

*2025-10-17, version 1.5.5*

I love this app, it has helped me pass my music theory exam.

### 5/5 — This is the perfect app!

*2025-10-09, version 1.5.5*

This app makes music theory simple and easy to digest! I am a seasoned musician/singer and have been looking for an affordable resource to use as a refresher course. I love that it tracks progress and marks the areas that may need more attention. Plus the must charts like the circle of 5ths ,clefs, and scales located in the library tab. Thank you to the genius who created this affordable approach to music theory!

### 5/5 — Best way to learn theory

*2025-05-23, version 1.5.5*

This is the best way to learn music theory. I highly recommend

### 5/5 — More people should use this app!

*2025-05-04, version 1.5.5*

I’m blown away by how straightforward and helpful this app is. I upgraded to premium for only $12 (lifetime purchase!) and can’t believe how many features this app offers. As a music student who has paid thousands of dollars for lessons, my only regret is that I didn’t discover this app sooner. Huge thanks to the developers and whole team behind this app!

### 5/5 — 10/10 guidance

*2025-04-08, version 1.5.5*

I feel as if I am a bit behind in my music class so I downloaded the app just to get a sense of what I needed to learn for music. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that I was able to go step by step through musical concepts, have readily prepared notes for me, and have access to countless self marked quizzes of each concept. Love the app 🎉

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-03-02, version 1.5.5*

This app has taken me from a complete non sight reader to a fast reader. Great for train journeys

### 5/5 — Increíble app

*2025-01-14*

Muy completa, intuitiva y practica. Fundamental para complementar cualquier tipo de estudio musical.
