Worst customer service. Been on hold for over 30 minutes and gave up. Recently redesigned their payment system and didn’t communicate and was charged a late fee even though I was set up with automated payment through my bank: ### 1/5 — Broken *2022-10-04* NOVEC SmartHub has a complimentary website, and there is nothing there about the app status. Like others, I’m stuck at “Signing In” message. Fortunately my electric service works just fine, so there’s the positive spin 😀 ### 1/5 — Horrible account transfer *2022-09-25* The transfer to this app was done horribly by NOVEC!!! This transfer cancelled my auto payment and now I get an email that I am behind in my payments. I also could not log in using my phone. I am not a happy customer! Shame on you NOVEC! Also, Novec randomly decided to move to this app from 1990s, couldn’t figure out how to transfer the auto payments and now is making my account delinquent just bcuz they switched to this stupid app. You shouldn’t see these problems in 2022. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Blows up when reporting outage *2026-06-13, version 25.2.2* iPhone app exits when attempting to report an outage. 100% reproducible on iPhone. ### 1/5 — Badly designed *2025-11-25* App constantly crashes. Unable to report outages. Core features like outage map push you to a web site. Needs some updates asap. ### 1/5 — What’s the point? *2024-08-03* Tried to report a power outage and it redirected me to the NOVEC website on my browser. Then it’s a labyrinth to try and get to the page to report it. Also kept telling me NO CREDENTIALS but I had to log in to get to that point. If I could switch to Dominion I would. ### 1/5 — Barely an app *2023-08-09* This never should have been put up on the public App Store. When you click most things it just opens up a page in safari (which in itself is dumb because IOS apps can embed a web view). Sometimes when that happens Safari pops up a dialog suggesting you download the app! It occasionally doesn’t even open up the page related to what you were asking for. The coop should refuse to pay whoever developed this. ### 1/5 — App and website are different logins. *2023-02-21* If you are struggling to log into the worst app ever made that is novec power. Consider logging into the website like you used to do before all this nonsense. Don’t let them redirect you to the app. X out of that redirect and pay on the website. They stopped collecting auto pay and now all of a sudden saying I’m behind on my payment. . These guys are running this company like a joke . No one picks up phone either ### 1/5 — Dreadful *2022-10-24* This app barely works on my iPhone 12. Screen is hard to read and text is out of alignment. In addition, the roll out was awful. My auto payments with the old app were discontinued, but I did not get a notification to use this new app until I was 3 months behind. The app gets locked on various screens and needs to be force quit. Second, why is this app directly coded into google-analytics? You are forced to be tracked by google-analytics in order to log in. It’s not the best. But, compared to their earlier web and iOS platforms, this is miles ahead of where they were. ### 2/5 — Power outage reporting? *2024-06-12* What is the point of this app if it can’t be used to report a power outage quickly? I tried reporting a power outage via the website, and the page loads some kind of sub page with a large blue spinning circle ad infinitum. I was unable to report the outage so I downloaded the iphone app despite the horrendous reviews. The app works well enough and now I can access my usage on a mobile device, but honestly why even bother to develop the app if it doesn’t provide any usage beyond or equal to the website? There should be a giant button in the app to report an outage - this will provide the company more real-time feedback. I can check my power usage from the website, so I guess this app is useless. …also if I managed to simply fail to see a “report an outage” button in the app, please let me know! ### 2/5 — Usage data? *2023-12-18* Recent update, now no usage data will load- current out historical in the app. ### 2/5 — Two factor authentication *2022-10-18* I keep seeing 2FA pin notifications every night even when I have logged out of my app. Is this a glitch or is someone trying to hack into my account?
