### 3/5 — Cannot login

*2025-08-29, version 4.5.0*

Have been having login problems for a few weeks. The app would not get past the initial screen upon opening.

I finally fully deleted the app and reinstalled, and can now get on. Annoying, but at least I can e-tag now.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-08-25, version 4.5.0*

Terrible app. Never works smoothly

### 1/5 — Not working

*2025-08-25, version 4.4.0*

Deer and elk season is around the corner and the app won’t open. Fix the app or print paper tags this year folks.

### 1/5 — Issues opening the app

*2025-08-10, version 4.4.0*

Sometimes the app doesn’t open and I need to redownload it. That sort of defeats the purpose of using this app to show your licenses in a place without service…

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2025-08-06, version 4.4.0*

The App doesn’t even open. Can’t tag any fish caught or manage account for the last 10 days. Apparently nobody cares because there is no resolution.

### 1/5 — F ODFW

*2025-04-20, version 4.3.1*

If I could give it zero stars I would. It the most garbage system ODFW has!! Turns law abiding hunters into poachers..

### 1/5 — Doesn’t even open

*2025-04-18, version 4.3.1*

When I click on the app, it just closes itself and returns to the Home Screen. The app is useless.

### 1/5 — Crashes every time I try to open

*2025-04-17, version 4.3.1*

This app crashed every tome I try to open it. I've tried deleting and reopening, but it just keeps doing it. It shows up on my home screen, but doesn't list it in my installed apps. Using an iphone 8.

### 1/5 — Froze my screen

*2025-03-01, version 4.2.0*

It didn’t get past the start screen when the notification pop up got stuck on the screen and wouldn’t let me do anything else. I had to reboot the phone to be able to gain access to it again. Just avoid this app and use the website.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2024-12-30, version 4.1.0*

Shows how much the Government cares. This app is so buggy and totally looks like something ads in the 19 hundreds. Sheeesh teenagers could make a better app than this. Seriously people with responsibility for public service in this country need to step their game up.

### 1/5 — App

*2024-10-02, version 4.0.2*

Always problems with this app. Can be confusing and not user friendly. Not an app designer but I’ve seen many states with better models to follow. This state just doesn’t allow anyone to work and focus solely on hunting and fishing as it needs to be here. You can feel the struggle in its employees when you talk with field officers and people on the lower end of the working spectrum.

### 1/5 — Always had issues

*2024-10-01, version 4.0.0*

How can this app have so many issues and be so poorly designed. Why can’t they figure out how to get it to work in airplane mode or places with little cell service. Constant issues, logging people out and crashing. 1 star because I can’t give zero

### 1/5 — Oregon Department of fraud and waste

*2024-09-30, version 4.0.0*

Once again, Oregon shows the incompetence of state government. What a bunch of clowns.

### 1/5 — Update 4.0

*2024-09-30, version 4.0.0*

Update is bad. Can’t log in after doing the update it just says ,, oh deer unexpected error occurred

### 1/5 — Never opens past the splash screen.

*2024-09-14, version 3.6.1*

This app never opens past the splash screen. It is all up to date. I have rebooted the phone multiple times, still nothing.

### 1/5 — Buggy, rarely works.

*2024-09-11, version 3.6.1*

This app is very error prone, prone to bugs that seize it up, and is your only way to validate your tags. The app itself is difficult to use/navigate. This tragedy of programming should not exist, for the love of god give us the plastic tags again.

### 2/5 — App needs more work

*2024-07-30, version 3.5.0*

I’ll preface with, the only license I typically renew is my annual fishing license. I appreciate being able to renew online, but the process of getting access to my proof of license is inconvenient.

I checked out via the ODFW website, which told me I would be able to add an electronic copy to my apple wallet. After searching and not finding the option on the website, I found instructions to download the app in order to get the e-license.

Annoying, but I downloaded the app. And still I could not easily find the option anywhere. Finally in my profile settings I found the option to switch from paper tagging to e-tagging… but now at this point it finally warns me that I won’t be able to switch back for the remainder of the calendar year.

The whole process is annoyingly circuitous. Not everything needs an app, and especially not if the app is going to be bare bones and convoluted to use. I’ll be deleting the app and just printing the paper I guess, but I’d been wanting to have access to both.

### 1/5 — 👎

*2024-07-05, version 3.5.0*

Not good

### 1/5 — Didn’t work without service

*2024-01-13, version 3.4.0*

I harvested a buck and went to digitally tag it and the app would not load until I got back into service.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Dog Water

*2026-08-02, version 4.6.1*

Whoever they paid to develop this app should re-evaluate their career choices. Impossible to retrieve account information, impossible to reset passwords. Profoundly useless website but I’m sure the parents of the 4 year old who made it are proud.

### 1/5 — Can’t log in

*2026-06-15, version 4.6.1*

I log in just fine on the website but the app keeps telling my my username/password can’t be found

### 1/5 — Trash

*2025-11-15, version 4.6.0*

Trash garbage

### 1/5 — Forced to use it but doesn’t work??

*2025-11-06, version 4.6.0*

App rarely works
With all the money they make from us the least they can do is invest a little time into this app to confidently work every time you need it

### 1/5 — Just another government failure!

*2025-10-03, version 4.5.1*

God only knows how many tens or hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars Oregon wasted to create an app that is just painful to use. Near constant issues every time I try to tag a fish or animal. I update to the latest version in hopes it will help and just more disappointment. I even emailed Odfw to try and get support or advice on my issues and my messages go unanswered. I’ll be switching back to paper tags next year due to this colossal failure.

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2025-09-15, version 4.5.0*

I have had this app since it came out and have nothing but problems with it. Every year I speak to someone from ODFW and they all say we are working on it to more streamline. Very hard to navigate, not user friendly and always freezes. Don’t recommend but the idea of paperless is a nice thought.

### 1/5 — Stick to paper tagging

*2025-09-14, version 4.5.0*

Works maybe 50% of time. Had to uninstall and reinstall in middle of hunt. It was working then decided it needed an update while in field mode. Had to go find cell service in the middle of nowhere. I’m going back to printed. This is silly.

### 1/5 — When gov give you an app

*2025-09-05, version 4.5.0*

When you developed an app it should work but maybe they don’t what that so you can have a violation and they pull your rights to hunt. Nothing but issues with this stupid app. If you are lucky and the app opens ( not opening for me yet again) it’s Not user friendly. Hard to navigate anywhere easily. Just start clicking on things to see if that takes you where you want. Odfw the agency where they don’t want hunters and compliance so they can strip you of your rights.

### 1/5 — App will not open

*2025-09-02, version 4.5.0*

App will not open even though it’s updated and in service.

### 1/5 — Who is the developer somebody's grandkid?

*2025-08-26, version 4.5.0*

The single most needed thing from this app is to be able to display one's hunting license, E tag, parking permit, etc., . It doesn't do any of that! At least not on my iPhone 15 Pro. It logged in fine showing my account number… But that's pretty much about it

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Mmmmh

*2025-05-07, version 4.3.2*

This is definitely an app that connects the the internet and lets you get places to buy stuff I guess.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2022-01-31, version 2.3.3*

Really a great app and system now. The majority of negative reviews seem to be from people complaining that they don’t have smart phones(which makes no sense, just print it then) or from people with login issues(which can be solved by logging in with the same info as your odfw account online uses). Much better system than the ancient paper method.

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2021-06-08, version 2.3.3*

Convenient

### 5/5 — Great

*2020-10-01, version 2.3.1*

The setup was easy, my tags were waiting for me and it was easy. I’m 14 and I have no problem with the app.

### 5/5 — Works perfectly

*2020-09-21, version 2.3.1*

I download this app to be able to view my waterway access permit, and it works perfectly. I have no idea what the one star reviewers are talking about. Just follow the directions, folks.

### 5/5 — Time saver!

*2020-09-02, version 2.3.1*

Really appreciate being able to skip the line at retail stores to buy a license, get it online and always have it with me. Thanks to the team behind building this and everyone at ODFW!

### 5/5 — Avid user

*2020-08-30*

It’s nice to be able to do all I need this way. Though when getting the sports pack you’ll want to fix me. I had a brain cramp and didn’t realize that the $0 cost for tag was the actual cost and to purchase it that way. Now I know, don’t think this will be the last time it comes up though.
   Really like this app.

### 5/5 — Works very well! Thank you ODFW

*2020-04-08, version 2.2.1*

This works great, I have had no issue using the app. The same crowd complaining about this app are the same people who think Oregon can’t do anything correctly. If you can’t do what the app is asking of you, then delete it. Thank you ODFW

### 5/5 — It works perfectly fine

*2020-04-08, version 2.2.1*

I’ve had this app for two years now and it works easier than just having the license. The only problem I have is with tagging. There’s a glitch where I can’t tag any fish I catch that needs to be tagged

### 5/5 — Makes life easier

*2019-02-28*

I don’t see how people are having problems with this, unless they just have difficulty following rules and order. I was sure there would be some bugs to fix which was true. My voucher for my bear tag was not on my profile, so I emailed ODFW and within an hour they got me my voucher. This makes it easy to tag your fish. I fish with a lot of people from out of state so I just send them a link and they have their tag before they show up. When I meet my guest in the morning and they don’t have their license they can buy it on the way to the river. Makes my life and my job a lot easier.
