### 4/5 — Good but log-in sometimes is unreliable

*2026-07-29, version 1.7.3*

The app is good enough for a transit card app. It gets the job done. It lets you add money to cards, link cards to your account, set up auto-pay when the balance gets too low, and lets you see transaction history. The one thing that I will note is that the log-in system can be unreliable. I don’t know what the cause is, but I think it is when you turn on a VPN in a foreign country. That’s my hypothesis, I’m not sure what the exact cause is, though.

### 2/5 — Not Helpful for Travelers

*2026-07-23, version 1.7.3*

This is a silly app in that it only provides functionality for paying affair and you have to buy a physical card to use it. What’s the point? An app like this should have maps and fair schedules and be able to be reloaded at a vending machine at any light rail station or elsewhere. The orca developers need to study some of the European transit apps from cities like Bordeaux, France, or Paris, France, or Brussels, Belgium and redesign this silly thing.

### 2/5 — Can’t add a payment method

*2026-05-30, version 1.7.3*

Adding a payment method in the current release is broken. As a prior review said, you tap the button to add one, and something briefly flashes in the UI and then nothing happens. It’s an embarrassing bug, for a very fundamental feature. Please fix.

### 1/5 — Can’t add payment method

*2026-04-10, version 1.7.1*

Have you QA’d the app using the latest OS and iPhone? Well, the add payment function doesn’t work. Try it.

### 2/5 — No Apple Wallet support in half a decade

*2026-03-30, version 1.7.1*

How is it that we pay all this money in Regional Transit Authority taxes and we still don’t have Apple Wallet transit card support?

### 3/5 — Please make Apple/Android/etc Pay an option for quick access to pre-set up digital wallets

*2026-03-26, version 1.7.1*

Overall convenient but if we can link digital wallets it would make the entire process easier

### 2/5 — myORCA autoload failing

*2026-03-12, version 1.7.0*

I’ve been repeatedly encountering an issue while trying to set up autoload on the myORCA mobile app. Every time I see the popup, “To add a new payment method, you will be redirected to our trusted partner site for the secure completion of the action. This payment method will be saved to your account profile,” I hit “CONTINUE” and nothing happens. This has been happening for more than a month. I’m using an up-to-date version of myORCA on an iPhone 13.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-02-22, version 1.7.0*

Try and add a credit card to the app, nope it can’t do that. Have a virtual card to tap instead of a physical card, nope it can’t do that.
It’s 2026, guess Seattle is not the tech hub we thought it was.

### 1/5 — Unable to add a payment method.

*2026-02-17, version 1.7.0*

When trying to add a payment method the pops up on screen and is then closed instantly.

### 1/5 — Way behind the times for iOS

*2026-02-05, version 1.7.0*

This app is ok, I like that you can reload your card digitally since card ATM locations are sparse and not every transit center is updated to have one.

But no digital orca cards for iOS users is ridiculous.

Even if you can’t add them to your digital Wallet the way Android users can, AT LEAST let us have digital cards on the app. Seattle is a huge tech hub and a wealthy city. This should be no problem to implement.

### 2/5 — Needs a tap to pay option

*2026-01-16, version 1.7.0*

This app is fine at what it does, but it doesn’t do anything the website doesn’t already do. Downloaded it hoping to be able to use my phone on the bus instead of pulling out my physical card, but no dice. Huge disappointment.

### 1/5 — Why make the app?

*2026-01-07, version 1.7.0*

If there’s not an option to add card to mobile wallet? Really sucks when you leave your wallet at home and don’t have cash. I just moved back from living in the Bay Area and figured the app would have a mobil wallet like Clipper card does :(

### 1/5 — Piece of junk

*2026-01-07, version 1.7.0*

What an absolute piece of junk and horrible system. You need a card mailed to you before you can use the transit system? This better be fixed in the coming months like is promised for the World Cup because this platform sucks. Just get it automated onto Apple Wallet like very other major city transit card.

### 1/5 — Can’t use the app to tap to pay

*2026-01-06, version 1.7.0*

Total joke

### 1/5 — Who designed this garbage?

*2025-12-31, version 1.7.0*

It’s a joke of a system - why on earth they couldn’t work out how to just allow me to use my phone to tap in and tap out is beyond me. That what I do in London and Sydney, but for some reason I need a physical card and to enter a payment method? This makes it much more inconvenient for casual users or visitors. And why do they want to know the answer to two personal security questions? I guess I’ll just suffer the inconvenience of buying tickets while I’m visiting for a month.

### 1/5 — Urgent

*2025-12-19, version 1.7.0*

There is a bug that is preventing me to add a new payment method. The add payment method screen briefly opens and closes immediately. It seems it is crashing. This should be fixed immediately

### 1/5 — Can’t use credit card

*2025-12-18, version 1.7.0*

I need to be able to get to work, and Orca now suddenly forgets my credit card, which is still valid and unexpired, and the only option is Apple Pay, which is an insecure dumpster fire. I don’t get what is so difficult about “Use my credit card I’ve been using for two years now” that you can’t seem to understand. Do I have to put my life’s savings in the stupid card just to avoid the Apple Pay nonsense! Enough!

### 1/5 — Integrate Apple Pay

*2025-11-24, version 1.7.0*

I don’t understand why there could be such great gap between so much of the RTA tax we pay and so low the efficiency of the bureaucracy.

### 2/5 — Could be good, but needs a lot of work

*2025-11-22, version 1.7.0*

The core functionality for managing your card barely works, for example, the add payment method and removal of payment methods has not been working for 3+ months. But then you can add value just fine, which is annoying to manage manually. If basic functions like autoload and payment methods worked, this app would be rated 3-4 stars

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Erased my cards

*2026-07-16, version 1.7.3*

I had two cards with a positive balance on them and now they’re gone and I can’t link them back.

### 1/5 — Frustrating interface

*2026-07-11, version 1.7.3*

I don’t even have a card yet and this thing is awful. Where to buy map doesn’t load, zip code search function doesn’t work, had to reset my password because it saved one of my backup questions instead. Was this user tested at all???

### 1/5 — What’s the Problem?

*2026-07-10, version 1.7.3*

I’ve waited years-YEARS-for a transit card to add to my wallet Seattle. 2026. Still, no option to do so. Portland OR has had a transit card for the Apple wallet for YEARS. Maybe have lunch with them to ask how they did it?

### 1/5 — Nonfunctional

*2026-06-22, version 1.7.3*

It doesn’t let you add any kind of payment method. It opens a blank screen for half a second then closes.

### 1/5 — Bad security, no digital card

*2026-06-21, version 1.7.3*

Really bad app. Can’t even create a digital card, the first thing I’d want for transit (in LA I can create a digital TAP card directly from wallet without an app). And requires obsolete/insecure security question junk. ORCA app is a decade out of date and promoting plastic waste by requiring a physical card!

### 1/5 — Useless unless you already have physical card

*2026-06-19, version 1.7.3*

Unless you have a physical card already, this app doesn’t do anything. You can’t buy a digital card - you simply tie a physical card to the account?

### 1/5 — Pointless

*2026-05-19, version 1.7.3*

What and who the absolute eff is this app for? YOU STILL NEED THE PHYSICAL CARD to USE it. You can’t tap your phone to pay for fares even when the card is loaded to the account.

Somewhere some developer is laughing their butt off for grifting ORCA this bad.

What a waste.

### 1/5 — Pointless without tap to pay

*2026-05-13, version 1.7.2*

I figured that downloading this app would allow me to have my orca card on my iPhone wallet. Nope. The app is basically the same as the web page. Functionally minimally useful.

### 1/5 — Borderline unusable, Get Transit Go App instead

*2026-04-26, version 1.7.1*

DO NOT DOWNLOAD
GET TRANSIT GO APP INSTEAD

This app is borderline broken. It lacks any forms of modern OAuth login, requires you to have a physical Orca card to use it, and the required security questions to set up an account spill off the screen, making it nearly impossible to create an account. Whoever made this app hasn’t tried to use it as a new user.

Also, it confused my Apple iOS native password app, remembering one of the security questions and answers instead of my username and password.

### 1/5 — No tap to pay or Apple wallet functionality

*2026-04-18, version 1.7.1*

This app is pointless without the ability to pay with myORCA digitally….if you don’t have your physical card, you can’t use the app to pay your fare, not add the orca pass to Apple wallet. Why does this app exist?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App

*2026-07-08, version 1.7.3*

This app is super helpful for account management and it is so great to be able to see all my cards in one place.

### 5/5 — Does what it needs it to do.

*2025-06-02, version 1.7.0*

I only use this app to refill my orca card and it does it quickly. No complaints.

### 5/5 — Apple wallet integration needed

*2024-12-29, version 1.7.0*

App is really nice and convenient for reloading without going to a physical kiosk but it would really be a step forward if Apple wallet integration is made available to tap and pay on buses and train stations.

### 5/5 — Not what it used to be

*2024-11-02, version 1.6.9*

The Orca system has improved drastically over the years. It makes getting around Washington so incredibly easy.

### 5/5 — Orca Card

*2024-06-16, version 1.6.8*

Very helpful :) I can add money to my Orca card or buy passes with no problem. Very happy with this app. Thank you. I won’t have to go to the transfer station to add money anymore. I will never have to worry about transportation again. I love that I can do this on my phone. Saves me a trip.

### 5/5 — It works again

*2024-01-22, version 1.6.2*

Thanks for finally fixing the recent activity bug.

### 5/5 — Gets the job done just fine

*2023-04-19, version 1.4.5*

Able to get it all synced and loaded in minutes, no problems at all using. Nice and straightforward. So much better than the London metro card.

### 5/5 — Works well, and password manager support fixed

*2022-07-01, version 1.2.5*

I was able to successfully use this App with my ORCA card and do an instant reload using Apple Pay on an iPhone. When I first used the App, I did have trouble logging in using a password manager to automatically fill in my email and password. However, in the latest version of the App, this is apparently fixed on iPhone and iPad…therefore I updated this to five stars.

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2022-06-29, version 1.2.5*

The app does everything I might have hoped. Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Great so far

*2022-05-27, version 1.0*

I’m really glad this was finally created. It seems to be working great so far! I’m excited to see what they do with it.
