So now why do I keep receiving notices that I am out of space? Reported this problem via their web page. Received a call from agent who confirmed that my account should be unlimited. Said I needed to contact support. Did that. No response. Bargain at first but if you use more than the 'average' which by definition 50% will do they threaten to charge you business rates or delete your data. ### 1/5 — CAN NOT ACCESS MY BACKUP FILES *2014-05-16* I chose MyPCBackup as my backup cloud for my laptop files, and because they touted this iPhone app as being able to access my backed up files. While the laptop backup works, this app does not! That was over 4 months ago, and when I gave them feedback that the app does not give access to my backed up folders & files, they said they created a 'service ticket' and would be working on the problem and would get back to me. I gave them the same feedback again about 2 months ago, and their response was that I had already caused a service ticket to be created and that I should not repeat this feedback. So if you are considering using MyPCBackup as your backup service provider with the intention of using your iPhone app to access your folders and files, it doesn't work. At least, not yet. ### 1/5 — Where's my data? *2014-04-17, version 1.3.4* Unable to retrieve my backup. Have paid all the extras but despite the site telling me I have many GB of data backup my data, my files, etc. all say you have not backed up any data.. No support just adds to the frustration. Be careful! ### 2/5 — A useful back up option but with two many strings attached *2013-09-17* I like the product for its simplicity but I'm kinda of annoyed with the need for numerous pricey add in options such as uploading more than 1gb file size (so no you can't back up your blu ray movies you have ripped) without upgrading. Upload speed can be boosted for a price and the killer for me is no uploading of files on memory sticks or SD cards larger than 16gb again without pricey upgrade options. If you have VERY simple needs then yes but beyond that it turns out to be relatively expensive. ### 2/5 — Ok, but could be better *2013-09-05* I like this service as I can back up across multiple devices and computers, however the problem I am having is that this app continues to pause itself thus taking days and days to do the initial back up. I have found other apps such as drop-box to work far more efficiently and quickly. ### 1/5 — Scam !!!!! *2013-09-02* Stay well away from these crooks. The software is buggy (I had to reinstall it on my PC 4 times). Then when you upload files they contact you to say that you have broken their (undefined) upload limit on their "unlimited" plan. They tell you in no uncertain terms that your files will be deleted and your subscription cancelled if you don't upgrade to their more expensive plan. No option of removing files, no refund applicable, no explanation, and - here's the kicker - they repeatedly tell you that there is absolutely nothing that they can do to remove the deletion flag... That is unless you pay them for a business plan. Multiple emails... No response. Deleted 90% of my backup... Nothing. No refund of my pre-paid subscription... Nothing. Just repeated emails from their "legal department" telling me that they are powerless to stop my files from being deleted unless I upgrade my "unlimited" plan to another "unlimited" plan. Scam !! Scam !! Scam !! ### 1/5 — Too slow! *2013-08-15, version 1.2.1* It's been 3 days now and I'm not even halfway finished with my backup. I don't have very much at all to backup! I’ve been trying to get them to help me recover files for 3 days. They won’t respond. I’ve lost pictures of my daughter as a baby and videos with my mom who died. Wish I had never used them. It stops backing up your data and you don't even realize that 10 days have gone by without a backup. A lawsuit waiting to happen if you rely on this program to keep your data current. When my backed up data reached 816GB after 9 months they locked my account. When I called I was told I had exceed normal usage and was in violation of paragraph 14 of their Terms and Conditions. NO WHERE on there website nor in their T&Cs does it state their is a limit to their UNLIMITED data plan. This company practices unethical business practices and employs bait and switch methods knowing that if you already have 800GB of data stored it becomes very time consuming and expensive for you to back out. DON"T use this company. My pictures are so easy to access that I can make books, email pictures, etc... So easily now. A few months ago my Mac went down (old)... I had just finished backing up my important files too! I would have been heart sick to lose all those memories and work as well.
