## What is MyPeepl?

MyPeepl is a private location sharing app built for the people who matter most — your family and close friends.

Every location you share is end-to-end encrypted on your device before it ever leaves. Our servers store only encrypted data that we have no key to read. Not us, not anyone else — only the members of your circle can see where you are.

Beyond privacy, MyPeepl keeps you genuinely connected: see your circle on a live map, replay a past day's journey, get notified the moment someone arrives at or leaves a favorite place like home or school, and look back through location history whenever you need it.

Simple, Secure, Safe.

## Key features

- End-to-end encrypted location sharing
- Live map view of circle
- Location history replay

End-to-End Encryption of your location data & 30 day data expiry
Your coordinates are encrypted with a key that only exists on your device and is shared only with your circle — never with our servers. Even in the event of a data breach, your location history cannot be read.
Encryption happens automatically, every time your location is saved.
Circle members can still see your location exactly as before — nothing changes for them.
No setup required. The app handles key generation silently on first launch.
Uses AES-GCM 256-bit encryption with per-record random nonces and Curve25519 key exchange — the same cryptographic standards used in Signal and iMessage.
Data expires from local device and encrypted store in backend after 30 days
More Reliable Arrival & Departure Alerts
Geofence detection — the engine behind arrival and departure notifications — now runs on your device instead of on our servers. This makes alerts faster, more accurate, and compatible with encrypted location data.
Arrival and departure push notifications continue to work exactly as before.
Detection is more precise: the app checks whether your path crossed a favorite's boundary, not just whether a single saved point landed inside it.
No longer subject to server-side delays or upload-interval gaps.

Activity Indicators
The app now detects whether you're walking or driving based on your movement speed between location saves. This information travels with your location data and can be shown alongside your position on the map.
Walking and driving are detected automatically — no extra permissions required.
Stationary positions (GPS drift, very slow movement) are filtered out cleanly.

### 1.0.10 (9) — 2026-03-05

This new version is an incremental update with some new features and user experience improvements

It adds a new feature that allows users to create favorite locations. When a circle member enters or leaves the vicinity (200m) of that location, a push notification is sent to the user who created the favorite, indicating one of their circle members visited/left the favorite place. Users can add and delete favorites as needed by pressing and holding a point in the map.

Minor improvements to enhance the user experience. We have added the ability to let the user provide a user friendly profile name that will be displayed instead of their user id.
Minor performance and stability improvements have been added. Specifically we now use geofencing to detect significant movement in the background in an energy efficient manner.

We have added the screenshots of the new feature in the submission. Note this is also available on our website at https://mypeepl.unit39.com/walkthrough.html . Please scroll down to feature #11 & #12
