So I checked the price with a view of purchasing …. £10.99 is far too much I appreciate the effort that goes into making the app and the restrictions that Apple take plus there cut but do feel the price is too high. Unfortunately I will be deleting the app as I cannot justify the price ### 4/5 — Mypi connection refuse *2019-04-23* ios mobile app and the device are on the same network via router/wifi, but struggling with connection refuse. How to?? The app and device can see and ping one another.. It seems the perfect start for iot apps and device use, getting along, monitored and managed remotely. Leider ging der PIN 7 nicht wie vorher konfiguriert aber in der mypi.cfg kann man das ja auf jeden anderen ändern. Schade nur das es maximal 8 Ausgänge und Eingänge sind die man einstellen kann aber für Spielereien reicht es. ### 5/5 — MyPi HomeMatic *2017-02-07* Einfach und schnell zu installieren, wie konfigurieren. / Easy and quick to install, plus easy to configurate. Tolle Funktionen und Individuell einstellbar. / Excelent funtions individual to adjust. Auch Betrieb mit mehreren Smartphone mit Zustandsabgleich zwischen den Smartphone-Apps in quasi Echtzeit. / You can use the mypi-server on several smart phones at the same time nearly in real-time. Initially I tried running the app without installing the python server. It will not work like that. You have to use python to modify gpio output. The app works by working with a python script that modifies gpio status with the app hotkeys. Since it's meant for a relay, if you use the app without a relay its "Opposite Day". You'll see what I mean if you just try to work with a breadboard straight from the Gpio pins. Awesome app and it's free if you ignore the 5 second ads. ### 5/5 — THE BEST *2016-11-23* This app is what you may need and more. At first I thought the directions were confusing but as I did the project the directions are actually step by step and easy to follow. I did have some challenges w the project, so I sent message for support. I had a response very quickly. Turns out the issue was w my device and not the app, but the support explained exactly line by line how to fix it. Beim Wechsel auf MyPi wird JEDESMAL Werbung gespielt sodass Deine Musik ausgeht. Keine Chance. Vorab per Mail den Support wegen einer anderen Sache gefragt. Toter Käfer, keine Reaktion. Period. ### 2/5 — Bien mais pub indésirable même en app-in. *2018-04-08* Appli fonctionnel qui fait le job mais je ne met que 2 étoiles et non 5 car si je laisse l’appli ouvert en arrière plan j’ai parfois une publicité audio qui se déclenche toute seul vers 22h 3 fois ce mois-ci alors que l’écran est éteint et que en plus j’ai payé pour retirer la pub dans l’application. Ce n’est pas normal et je suis sure que cela viole les conditions générale d’Apple, je préviendrai Apple pour que ça s’arrête. ### 2/5 — Won't Link! *2017-03-22* This would probably be a good app if I could get it to link to my Raspberry Pi. I've tried entering the IP address of my pi over and over with no success. It also doesn't properly save the IP address. I tried using Dynamic DNS and it didn't work either. ### 3/5 — Price is way too high. *2020-01-28* Accidentally hit buy and now i’m out 10 bucks ### 3/5 — Good but fatally flawed *2018-09-28* This is a good program, but there is a bug in it which is a deal killer for most people. You can set the buttons as either toggle or momentary contact. In toggle mode they always work fine, but there it a bug in the server side program which causes momentary buttons to stop working and become toggles after the server runs for about 24 hours. I have brought this to the author but he alternately denies it, says it’s fixed, or says I’m the only person to report it. I may be the only one reporting it’s there and I can replicate it over and over with all new hardware so it is there and it is in the software. I get around this by using a crontab on the server to restart the server process every 3 hours, but I shouldn’t have to and as the server process is basically deficient I cannot recommend this app for most users. ### 3/5 — The app works, just read the instructions. *2017-05-05* This app works fine, even with all the ads. Be sure to install the server onto your pi, and don't forget to connect to port 5000 when connecting. I just used the free version with a pi zero w and a sainsmart relay board to control a fan. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best app *2025-02-21* Tanks a lot for support &answer for mypi app ### 5/5 — Awesome App with no issues *2023-12-11* This works flawlessly, however the DNS needs a little work. The only constraints are the Pi has 3.3v GPIO logic and you need a level converter to power most relay boards that are optoisolated and require 5vdc logic. If you’re into tinkering then you can easily feed some 2N2222’s with 1v at the base and then switch 5vdc on the collector or as mentioned use a level converter but transistors would be better and cheaper/easier. Not sure why there aren’t more reviews? I thought everyone owning a Pi and an IPhone would have downloaded this? ### 5/5 — Yessss !!! *2019-09-25* Super appli ! My only suggestion would be to make it clear that you have to install the package on the Raspberry Pi BEFORE using the app. I found this app on the App Store, so I didn't know how to get started.
