The functionality hasn’t changed much in the last 10-11 years ### 4/5 — Great app *2026-04-29, version 9.154* I’m using it with my Rinnai heating and cooling system for last 3 months. It gives me all features like remote start /stop, scheduling, on whole house and each zone level. Changes in the app don’t necessarily communicate with the system. Events can’t be altered from the phone app - still have to go to the wall unit. This is really disappointing and means that the app is of little value. My app currently says all rooms are 19 degrees when in reality they are 26 degrees. If I had known on the app I could have remotely turned the aircon on but was under the false sense that my house was nice and cool. Can this get fixed? They’ve obviously changed something. The app and software has always been laughable. You can control your temperature zones and fan speeds and it responds quickly, plus it works great with home assistant. Would love electrical consumption figures as most default controllers have it and it is over due for a design update like MyPlace IQ but is a big upgrade on a standard ac controller ### 1/5 — Not picking up Temp sensors correctly in app *2025-09-13, version 9.112* Something has changed recently causing temp sensors to not show correctly in the app vs the wall unit… has worked fine for 5 years, bit I assume in the recent update something has changed and is not working. Nothing else on our end has changed, except the app update. The temps shown in the app always revert back to some old ‘stored temps’ which is not accurate nor reflects the wall unit. Enjoy having a cold home *2026-06-05, version 9.154* We got ducted air-conditioning in about six weeks ago. From day one we have encountered issues with this app. Put simply, in our experience, turning the heating on via the app is temperamental. It will typically work, but for whatever reason there are occasions where it simply doesn’t do anything. We wait for the system to warm up. But still nothing. The system doesn’t seem to get the signal to switch on. The same occurs during ‘automation’ when we have scheduled the heating to come on. It’s the unpredictability that makes this really concerning and frustrating. It makes troubleshooting at home impossible. This is our heating system. We don’t have alternative heaters, so when it’s 2 degrees at 4am and the heating system doesn’t come on, what else are we to do? ### 1/5 — Disappointing *2026-05-08, version 9.154* The app worked for a bit now it never ever works. ### 1/5 — Pretty basic *2026-04-28, version 9.150* The app drops out frequently especially with iPhone connections. Very frustrating when are travelling. The tablet has to be restarted manually for the app to reset. All other iPhone and iPads work when opening the app except with the brand new iPhone 17Pro. Support says to connect the wall unit to a iPhone hotspot but the wall unit can’t even see hotspots. So now stuck not being able to use the system via my phone because I have upgraded my phone. The main wall tablet has the correct temperatures, but these don’t reflect across the mobile devices. I suspect they’ve made changes that now do not work with their older tablets that run this software. They’ve made some changes to how this data is pushed across and now they don’t communicate as they used to - rendering this feature useless. What used to be a smart device is now functioning like a dumb technology from 1990’s. He did a fantastic job, very efficient, thoroughly explained how it works, and helped setup the app so that I can remotely control it. He changed and added new sensors which work great. The aircon works perfect now and all the rooms are nice and cool, system is super easy to manage and easy access all on my phone. Advantage Air/MyPlace has a very happy customer! ### 5/5 — If you are having problems *2024-07-16, version 8.1084* Had issues with the MyPlace iPhone app never connecting. Turned out it was a simple fix. Go to the control panel and make sure the wifi connection is turned on. ### 5/5 — A Fantastic System *2024-02-22, version 8.1084* I have a multi zone AC with dedicated motorised dampers and wireless temperature sensors as part of the advantage air install. As a HVAC engineer the system works well and the supported integration with home assistant takes a step logging all zone temperatures. 5 out 5 for the app and home assistant integration.
