I was hoping for the DS version / story. It’s entertaining but too simple for an older audience. The cuteness factor helps. ### 3/5 — No black hair update *2026-01-15* I was so excited to replay this game, truly giddy. I remember as a kid renting it from blockbuster over and over again just to keep playing it. I started the new mysims and was ecstatic over the black hair options and finally being able to make myself in the game. I was fully expecting to see this as well in the character customization here but felt my joy disappear the second I realized all was left was the lazily put Afro every game had as a kid. Games like these and especially the cozy game genre truly does not feel as cozy for black players. ### 2/5 — Maddening on a phone *2025-12-30* I mean it's a cute game, but I have no idea how anyone is playing it on their phones. It's sometimes hard to even see all of the elements you're building because a tutorial message is in front or it's just simply out of view. I haven't even painted the house in the tutorial for this reason. I am sure I could figure it out with time and effort, but I am not really that interested. I think maybe this game will be best for people who are young, using tablets, and/or nostalgic about having previously played the game. None of those apply to me and I can't be bothered to keep fiddling with it. ### 3/5 — Good but glitchy *2025-12-18* This game is so fun, but the most recent update has made it unplayable. The camera is harder to move, the items don’t place like they should, and I can’t delete some blocks. Usually I’d have a lot of fun playing this game, but now I’m just frustrated. :( ### 5/5 — Big fan *2025-12-16, version 1.5* I played this game when I was 15. First on the Wii and then bought it on the switch last year. Couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw it on Apple Arcade. It’s such a fun game with lots to do and find. I always love coming across the different collectables and costumes. I spent many happy hours playing and still have it saved on the Wii 😁 ### 5/5 — Amazing Game but bugged *2025-12-14, version 1.4* I’ve played MySims & MySims Kingdom retro re-release on every device (as well as the originals 17 years ago) and know the story inside and out. I made sure to complete every task on every island. Yet on star level 3 after completing Cutopia I was stuck on star level 3 and 150 king points short. I do wish there was the DS version on here/something very similar. I do wish it let me move the camera direction with one finger instead of two though. ### 5/5 — Where’s the Fish? *2025-11-26* Love this game! But the glitching when fishing is frustrating. In the beginning, it took no time to catch fish. Now every time the bobber is thrown in and moved around a bit it’s just not catching anything! I’m stuck trying to complete the scroll that needs 1 crab and 1 shark! Any tips or is it a glitch? **Developer response:** Look in the water for fish shadows, and drag your bobber over to them to try to catch them! But multiple times I got stuck to a frustrating point because the game was caught in a glitch. The game crashed and also froze on me. The camera view also gets stuck multiple times without being able to easily fix the angle. The graphics and dialogue make it seem like a kids game but I don’t think many kids would be able to play it. The controls are janky, the tasks are buggy and unintuitive.. the characters are cliched. I never played Kingdom, but I absolutely ADORE this game!!! It’s right up there in cuteness next to AC. So far, it’s totally playable. I play on my huge iPad and have had no problems except I cant get a Goby; I have about 24 sunfish and 11 turtles, but no Goby.🤔 ### 5/5 — Further development *2026-01-20* I just want to start off by saying that this is one of my favorite games of all time. My childhood was heavily centered around this game and I spent so much time centered around every aspect of this game. I filled in the gaps between storylines being that i played this game on the Wii and Ds. I have no clue how to reach out to the developers or composers of the soundtrack or the game, but I would love if there was an epilogue to the series. Genuinely such a good game this could be so much more thorough if we could get the developers to revamp the series and different storylines. I have so many ideas.
