It would be helpful if BGS could place a prominent note within the App and the App Store entry explaining what has happened. There is nothing at all about the change in either at present. The UKSO notes are confusing and contradictory. ### 1/5 — Not working *2024-01-03, version 5.0.0* Was a very useful app, but now only comes up with error or not loading ### 1/5 — No information *2023-10-21, version 5.0.0* Tap the map and an icon appears with the message: ‘ Loading soil information ‘ (I think that is what it says, it lasts for about half a second) and then absolutely nothing. Perfectly useless. And, the previously wonderful geological map of Britain is no longer available. This app confirms what I discovered then, but now I know that I need to add more organic matter to the soil. So yes the app has been useful but as always I want to know more than the app tells me. Anyone interested in soil whether it is a gardener, farmer or environmental consultant can find out the soil they're standing on. ### 5/5 — A specialist gem *2017-06-22, version 3.0* Not everybody wants to know about soils as they travel the country, but if you do this is a gem of a companion. The soil descriptions are not hugely detailed, but the boundaries between types are, and it is often that change that provides the curiosity.
