I arrived in Tokyo a couple of weeks ago and found the COVID vetting arrival process cumbersome so I thought I would install this app before my next visit next week. After tying to get it to work, I’ll take my chances with the cumbersome arrival process again as it will take me less time than trying to get the app to work. 
It is 2022. There’s no reason to have a retro app that works like something kludgy developed at the dawn of the internet/turn of the century. Please hire some of the recently laid off tech workers to do an overhaul of the app.

入国関連の機能は2022/11/14で運用を停止してMy visit Webでの運用になったはず。
入国管理モードでから通常モードに戻そうとしても、戻るためのリンクもボタンも設定もない。
削除して再インストールしたら、パスポート登録画面となり、けっきょく入国管理モードになってしまい、通常モードに戻せない。
マニュアルをwebで検索しても、トップページで通常モードへのリンクをタップするとしか書かれてないが、そのリンク自体が表示されない。
以前実装した機能をただオフにすればいいというわけではないことがまるでわかっていない。

I’m left dazed and confused by MySOS.  I’m honestly disappointed and frustrated by the time I’ve spent trying to figure things out. I don’t see that any of my information flowed over from the Japanese visiting webpage, and I’m really not sure what this app is for. I downloaded it as instructed before traveling to Tokyo and I’m just crossing my fingers that I can get through the entry processes. 

One thing is for sure, this app is of no use.

I would like to preface this by saying that I was not required to quarantine when I returned to the country. Because of this, I can’t personally speak for how well the calling feature works or if that process has improved.

That being said, uploading my documents and generating the QR code made going through the quarantine station(s) a little less tedious. Worth it for not having to juggle all of my documents after a 13+ hour flight!
