### 5/5 — Mysteries of Fractal

*2019-10-23*

Fantastic! One of the best designed apps in a long time. Excellent presentation of background information, and superb graphics. Hope to see more updates.

**Developer response:** Thanks. Update is coming soon.🥳

### 5/5 — Stunning

*2019-09-29*

Great visuals and sound.

### 5/5 — Glad I gave it a try...

*2019-09-10*

I wasn’t sure whether to get this app or not. I typically don’t just buy an app without trying it out first, and i saw no free version of this. But, the reviews were good, so I gave it a chance.

I was very happy with it overall. It was easy to understand for me. I’ve taken up to Calculus in college and took Discrete Mathematics, in addition to having read about chaos theory on my own. It was challenging, but I felt that I understood it. I liked the way it taught through interaction and example. It really helped me to better grasp the concepts.

In terms of constructive feedback, there were a few tiny grammar/spelling errors that could be corrected (it happens to the best of us). I also hope the creator decides to add another app or another chapter, so that other fractals can be explored and learned about. I’d really love that!

Thank you for making this! It was a very enjoyable, beautiful, and informative app, overall! :)

### 5/5 — Aesthetic and therapeutic

*2019-06-01, version 1.9.2*

The maths is complicated, but the fractals you can create are very impressive. Wonderful colours and fractal shapes.
Would recommend if you like fractals.

### 5/5 — Amazing experience

*2019-02-10*

Absolutely magical and fantastical experience, really goes to show how beautiful math can be. Truly inspiring

### 5/5 — Mysteries of Fractal

*2018-10-09, version 1.9.2*

I have been fascinated by fractals since first coming across them but have never really understood them.
This gorgeous app brings them to life and slowly I am getting my head round them.
I am still learning how to use the app fully but am becoming addicted to the beautiful and fascinating fractal creations

### 5/5 — Staring into the infinite

*2018-08-28, version 1.9.2*

This is an amazing app, as it takes some esoteric mathematics and makes it fun and beautiful!

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2018-08-14*

Simple to use, soothing music, educational, and stunning colours. Detail is exceptional, little to no pixelation, colours smoothly move along spectrum, and the creation options make this an excellent app to learn fractals....or simply enjoy the secrets of imagination.

### 5/5 — Great foundational presentation, lovely graphics and great interactivity!

*2018-07-23*

I’ve tried a number of Julia and Mandelbrot set visualizers over the years, and the pictures are cool, but that’s about it. Many are barely interactive, apart from zooming in and out. This one teaches in basic terms just what fractals and the Julia set represent (understandable on a basic level even for a non-mathematician), and has a smooth and effective visualizer to allow anyone to create fractal images. Very well realized!

### 5/5 — Mysteries of fractal

*2018-06-21, version 1.9*

WOW!!!

### 5/5 — Marvelous and compelling

*2018-06-03*

The text presents the basic concepts, but being able to manipulate the variables really draws you into this fascinating topic. I know that I’ve just scratched the surface of this complex form of mathematics but I feel drawn to do the further reading that is suggested.

### 5/5 — Money well spent...

*2018-05-05*

The best way to learn fractals...

### 5/5 — Educational, enjoyable, beautiful

*2018-05-03*

Educational, enjoyable, beautiful app. I’ve always been interested in fractals, and this app makes fractals accessible to me.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2025-04-10, version 2.3.7*

I was hoping for a Mac based fractal generator similar to the old DOS program Fractint. Given the power of an Apple silicon Mac compared with an Intel 386, this is incredibly disappointing. Very limited zoom and totally lacking the beauty of Fractint. Don’t bother.

### 1/5 — Not good

*2018-12-27, version 1.9.2*

Paid £5.00 but it seems doesn’t work on Apple Watch so please buyers think before you pay

### 1/5 — Not worth $7.99

*2018-08-26, version 1.9.2*

This app is in no way worth it’s valued price. It is more visual effects, not much mathematical fractal information.

### 1/5 — WONT OPEN

*2018-07-10*

crashes every time i open it. give me my money back or fix it!!

### 1/5 — Can’t change the language!

*2018-06-23*

I’m regretting to buy this a00: it’s in chinese and I can’t figure how to change the language. App support page doesn’t load. If it’s not solved I’ll ask for a refund.

### 3/5 — Wait... power slider is missing!

*2026-05-29*

I gave it a try, real and imag slider are there but wheres the power slider?

### 4/5 — Bug

*2024-11-08*

The sliders in create don’t move right now

### 5/5 — A Pleasant Interlude

*2023-06-04*

I’ve played with it several times and it’s quite enjoyable.

### 5/5 — Mit viel Geschick entworfen!

*2022-11-12*

Schade das ich japanisch nicht lesen kann!

### 5/5 — Amazing experience!

*2020-10-10*

Thank you, beautifully made.

## Most praised reviews (7 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fascinating artistic outlet!

*2020-10-04*

This app is simply terrific! While very user-friendly, its simplicity belies the fact that it provides the means to tap deeply into your artistic potential, to create an infinite variety of truly beautiful images. As a professional engineer, I also appreciate the educational introduction to the math behind the images as it provides useful insight into what’s happening “under the hood”. One warning though: it’s super addictive! Great app!

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2020-05-09*

Why isn’t this an editor’s choice?

### 5/5 — Beautiful

*2020-04-08, version 1.10.3*

Clearly a lot of care and attention has gone into producing this app. There’s the fractal playground, where you can experiment with different inputs to generate fractals. Zoom in, zoom out, edit colours, marvel at the beauty of these mathematical constructs. There’s also a fairly thorough tutorial that tells you how they work. Beware, you could spend a lot of time just playing, and chilling out, with this.

### 5/5 — Explained

*2020-03-07*

I found the explanation and examples especially easy to follow and understand. Presented imaginary numbers clearly in this context.

### 5/5 — G8TKeaper

*2019-12-31*

This program, Mystries of Fractals, is without a doubt one of the Best programs in the Apple Stable, from the standpoint of presentation, information, subject matter, linkages, and quality . . . hands down! This author is definitely one of the Best in his ability to provide the user quality of presentation and subject information . . .

### 5/5 — Great Julia’s...

*2019-12-31*

...but I need some Mandelbrot as well to meet really artistic needs of mine.

### 5/5 — Opliopliop

*2019-12-25*

We Love This Game!!!!!!
