It says nowhere that we’d have to pay for making more characters, more chapters, etc. All those things should be free in some way. ### 4/5 — Disappearing Content [Fixed] *2026-07-17, version 1.36.3* The issue was due to a ui quirk that caused me to toggle an archive function on accident. One pointed out I was able to re-enable the lost content. ### 3/5 — Too many premium features *2026-06-14, version 1.35.2* Decent app but has way too many basic features (multiple stories, organizer, etc.) that are reserved for premium users. ### 4/5 — Good app but please fix the bug *2026-05-12, version 1.35.2* Been using my story for years and Usually the app is running well but recently I had a very big bug when I go to log in using my email and password the screen just freezes nothing really works I’ve tried deleting it and re downloading it but to no avail it doesn’t work and it’s driving me nuts other’s than this huge bug keeping my from my fanfiction the app’s amazing but please help get rid of the bug I’m going crazy not being able to read my work so yeah without all the bugs the apps one of the best writing tools I’ve got totally recommend. ### 3/5 — Pretty good *2026-02-16, version 1.30.1* Pretty good but it makes you pay if you want to use extra features, write more than one book, or even add a cover to your book, which it conveniently doesn’t mention above. ### 4/5 — Gets the job done *2026-02-16, version 1.30.1* I just downloaded the app, and I’m still messing around with it, but I do like the organization options provided thus far. I would love to see a “find and replace” word search added—akin to what’s available in other writing document apps. It won’t pop up until I switch from portrait orientation to landscape, or vice versa. And the auto save will erase my words as I’m typing pretty frequently. I want to keep using this app but it’s getting frustrating the more I do in it. ### 5/5 — ITS REALLY GOOD I RECOMMEND *2025-11-04, version 1.24.2* It’s really easy to use. I find it very fun to write books on here. There is one minor issue thought. You can’t use the tab on a keyboard to start a paragraph. It’s not a super big deal I find myself using the space bar but other then that it’s awesome ### 4/5 — Organized, but needs improvement. *2025-10-27, version 1.23.2* I really like this app, and really organized for the story I’ve been writing. I really frustrated though because it won’t let me go to the area where you pay for the app, and I keep trying to press upgrade author. I also don’t like how this app deletes your account after a month of not using it, so I hope you guys will get rid of that. I really love this app but I do think there’s room for improvement. ### 5/5 — Perfect for my Projects📚 *2025-10-24, version 1.23.2* Not only is the app wonderful to use, but the developer, Richard, is on hand to assist if and when support is needed and can help resolve issues quickly (not that there have been many - more user error related). However I feel that it should have less premium items so it’s more functional for those who don’t have the money to do it, especially teenagers. Apparently since they’ve made changes you can’t log in this way and I didn’t set up an email log in, just an Apple Store log in. I’m not subscribing again. Der Entwickler Antwort zudem auch nicht auf Anfragen. des Weiteren ist das Abomodel extrem verwirrend. Das Jahresabo ist teuerer, als wenn ich monatlich bezahle, obwohl es angeblich im Jahresabo 12 günstiger sein soll. There’s just one problem..you can publish your book if you want. But if you try to add a cover it says you have to pay!? That’s kinda unfair. I have requested many things in my reviews for updates, and then an update comes out with those things 1-2 months later, this app can do no wrong ever, and it is now the only writing app completely free of AI and I hope it stays that way🫶 The app doesn’t deserve the hate reviews from a small bug, all you have to do is mention the problem and the creator will work on fixing it, I have been using the free version ever since I got the app in 2020, the Author subscription only adds a couple features, I hope to one day get the Author subscription because I would love to add covers and finally have aligned paragraphs, having to hit the “I don’t want to support” button every time I enter the app breaks my heart, but I have to wait until I can actually afford a full subscription without having to drop it after a while. Review part aside, I have yet another request, can we have an update on the backups feature? Recently, I lost a big paragraph because my phone died and it didn’t save, it would be really helpful if the backups had a feature that worked faster than the autosave. If I’d had this app for my first book, it wouldn’t have taken me so many years to write! I’m now 31k words into my first novel and this app makes it a dream. The best part of it is the ease of access. Whether I’m on my laptop, phone or iPad, everything is there. The outliner manners navigation a breeze, the story line section is brilliant and it has ZERO bloat. Support is amazing as well. I had one question not covered in the FAQ and had a reply within minutes. When I found this app I was delighted and 4 years later it’s still my go too. The layout is amazing, it’s easy to use. I love it so much! ### 5/5 — Great App, Great Dev *2026-01-16, version 1.28.6* I’ve been using this app for months now and recently came across a small bug. Nothing app breaking, just annoying. I sent a bug report and expected to hear nothing back as with most apps, but the dev responded the next day asking when the bug would occur so he could recreate it. It took a day and a half but he alerted me that he had figured it out and it would be patched in the next update in a couple days, while giving me a work around to avoid it in the meantime.
