### 1/5 — No one wants to fix it

*2022-08-12, version 2.3.2*

Does that work great for me for four years but now since May 17, 2022 it hasn’t worked it won’t show me my production I cannot monitor anything no one wants to fix it son run blames Trinity Trinity blame son run in the end I’m the one getting screwed because it doesn’t work seems to me that it’s pretty simple the communication light on my outside box on my house doesn’t light up anymore so it’s a communication problem so they need to send someone out but apparently this problem is to small for them to waste any time on it but they have no problem taking my money every month

### 1/5 — Over a month and still no production data

*2022-07-01, version 2.3.2*

Absolutely unacceptable from this company to not be able to fix a glitch in their system that will not allow you to view the production data for over 30 days now from day one this company has been set up for failure and I wish I never went solar it is absolutely horrible customer service horrible app features and by far just unacceptable they should be sending out emails on a daily basis with the production as they can read the production themselves but for whatever reason they are withholding it from the customer

### 1/5 — It doesn’t work

*2022-05-28, version 2.3.2*

I don’t understand, before Covid, the app worked. Now? It’s useless. Doesn’t provide any information, so are they working? Calling tech support was worthless. Told a ticket was pulled for a fix to happen within 6-days, it’s now 2-weeks later and still nothing. I guess the founders at Sunrun sold out to “very incompetent corporation of America.” 🤦‍♂️

### 2/5 — Mediocre Application

*2022-05-20, version 2.3.2*

Especially considering the dependencies placed on it. Here’s the problem, you, as the solar panel leasee are the SOLE and ONLY monitoring mechanism for your setup. Worse yet, you have to rely on this klugey, I'll tempered application and the strangely arcane reporting/graph tool that SunRun either bought at a garage sale or allowed/enlisted the CEO’ s nephew and myopic aged Normandie to provide development expertise.

If by some strange happenstance you happen to detect a problem you are then left to deal with the “customer-service representative” in order to get a service ticket opened. Every one of these guys have been schooled carefully at the School of Nope and Don’t Bother my CEO. There is no escalation path and the techs are free to chastise the leasee as they see fit. If you are lucky enough to get an actual tech to fix your problem, you're likely to find that they are as frustrated with the CSR area as you are. The actual techs seem to do a great job and genuinely care about their customer base, too bad no one else passed the sales area does, but that's the way it is. Good luck!!!

### 2/5 — App overhaul

*2022-05-13, version 2.3.2*

The app is really bad. It takes forever to update the stats. The information is pretty basic and not really anything real time. It often stop posting daily and won’t work for few days.

### 1/5 — App is Terrible

*2022-05-08, version 2.3.2*

I never review apps, but it’s so ridiculous that one of the biggest solar companies in the country has an app this bad I had to come say something. A lot of complaints here about Sunrun’s customer service, I didn’t have that many issues on that front, however this app is an embarrassment. It constantly needs to be killed and reopened. The charts are not very useful, and it’s just not user friendly in general. It does at least give the prior days production which is usually all I care about, but I’m not sure why it can’t update in real time. They need to do better.

### 1/5 — Slow to respond

*2022-05-06, version 2.3.2*

I actually purchased sunrun thru Costco so I own my system . I’ve had sun run for 2 years now they are very slow to respond to what a customer considers problems with there system I went 9 days without being able to read the app and see how my system is operating when they finally come out they replace the meter you would think the new meter would catch up within a few minutes. I know when PG&E replaces there meter it responds immediately there is much difference between the 2 meters except one runs on. Solar and the other runs on electricity oops that means there both the same there response time and explanations have a lot of work to correct

### 1/5 — Can’t be counted on for monitoring

*2022-04-26, version 2.3.2*

Our system was down for a month and no one said anything until I finally found out via this app.

Sun run won’t pay for the energy we’ve consumed while our system is down. Our system continues to go down every other week and there is no plan to fix it.

Do everything you can to stay away from this company

### 1/5 — Trash app

*2022-04-13, version 2.3.2*

This app was a webview wrapping for their “data” provided. By data I mean how many kWh your system generates hours after it already did it. It doesn’t provide you with live data, usage, or alerts.

Please just stay away from Sunrun completely. Their customer service is totally trash too. It took them months to realize my entire system was down.

### 2/5 — New App… Crap!

*2022-03-31, version 2.3.2*

This review is for the app and not my over all opinion of the actual company as that’s a whole different ballgame.
Their previous app was basic, it allows you see how much your system has produced and original documents, billing ect.
The new app comes out and only allows you to see production and nothing else as it just tries to load over and over with no end in sight. So now I can’t see billing, documents, contract ect.

### 2/5 — Step it up SunRun! please?!

*2022-03-28, version 2.3.2*

The app just make buyers remorse that much worse. Buggy and almost a waste of time. Ridiculous company. Our system went down and if it were not for me looking at the app we would have gone a month with no solar. So that gives the app 2 stars. If it wasn’t for the Costco deal I think we would have gone elsewhere. SunRun get your act together. Still waiting for SunRun to complete project. 13 months from signing to today!

### 1/5 — Reviews Don’t lie

*2022-03-12, version 2.3.2*

Like most Sunrun customers. I didn’t do my homework. If I would’ve. I never would’ve went with this company. From the start it’s been the worst experience I’ve ever had. I cannot understand how a company with such poor customer service is still in business. But I guess they count on people not doing their homework. We were con’d at Costco, I wish Costco would’ve researched them better. When I say everything has been bad. Believe me. It has. Stay away from these clowns especially if you’re in Southern California. They lie and pass the blame on SDGE or County. When after contacting SDGE and the County. It was always Sunrun’s fault. If your representative is named Chase Cornofsky, stay the eff away from them. They lie. Corporate doesn’t follow up with any concerns. They give you a toll free number that only redirects you to these local clowns at Sunrun S.D. Read the reviews!!! I couldn’t give it a 0 star.

### 1/5 — No real time monitoring

*2022-02-17, version 2.3.2*

Unfortunately this app only provides historical data and no real time monitoring so you have no proper way of seeing what your system is doing at the present. I expected more from this app. My last solar home provided proper monitoring so I don’t know why they skimped here. Hope they upgrade this in the future.

### 1/5 — Horrible app and company

*2022-02-11, version 2.3.2*

Don’t bother with this company or probably any solar company considering Sunrun is supposed to be one of the better ones. This company will leave you to fend for yourself when you have a problem with your system. 35 minutes on hold to talk to someone who said they would have a case manager get back to me in 2-4 business days. Doesn’t happen. 4 business days later I call them and the automated system continuously hangs up.
In the app, according to their “system history”, it’s very rare that it was a sunny day. Almost every day has a “rain” or “cloudy” icon next to it, even if it only was rainy or cloudy for 5 minutes that day. Comical. What this tells me is they’re trying to disguise poor solar performance by blaming weather.

I could go on but I don’t have anymore time to waste.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2023-11-11*

My system tripped and no energy production. Customer service said it’s my job to constantly monitor my owned system. I work out of town and don’t have the time to monitor a system that the app should be doing for me. Like when system trips send a notification ” looks like something wrong with system monitoring “ , so simple you’d think? Especially with today’s technology. I’d say stay away from this company and ask more questions like monitoring. This is my first system and has been horrible customer service from the beginning. I would have been better off installing my own system. DIY kits from harbor freight would have been better running!

### 1/5 — Really bad customer service and app

*2023-07-06*

if you are getting Solar then be ready to deal with crap customer service and not working app for you. i know what we will say that its your experience not mine, but sunrun customer support is equivalent to 0. you can call multiple times and add case, getting any quicker response back …good luck with that.

when sunrun wants to sale their product to you, they are all ears! once you took the bait then no one cares if your app works or not. no matter how many times you open case and call the project coordinator, getting any help or support from these team is equivalent to getting water out of dry well.

I have become ping pong ball, customer support tells me to talk to project coordinator, and project coordinator tells me to talk to customer support.

CEO and manager feels like do not care what their teams are doing. I'm sure they show up in office for fat commissions or bonus checks cause thats all the mgmt cares about …it seems…as long as we make money we dont care about customer care..

be careful sunrun as whole really bad business to do your business with.

### 1/5 — This app is absolutely useless

*2023-05-07*

If I could leave zero stars I would. This app has no value. It provides no valid information and a lot of time it is out of date. It is hard to read and understand. It has no real time information on the panels so basically I am left my utility company to actually see my usage this app has no value whatsoever. My 5 year old could have done a vet job. As for Sunrun costumer service it is a complete joke if you can actually get a person that knows what they are doing they will most likely transfer you to someone’s voicemail or hang up on you. I had a problem with my system that was critical and they scheduled an appointment 3 weeks away. If I could do it again I would never buy this product

### 1/5 — Is This Thing On?

*2023-02-05, version 2.3.2*

We are starting our third month with SunRun and we’re beginning to wonder if this thing is supposed to do anything besides tell you the cloud cover percentage. That’s probably the most accurate part of the info it reports out.
I’ve gone through resetting the system two time. I’ve had a service person come out twice (both times they came and mostly avoided me).
Ready for my 9th attempt to contact someone about this.
I’m wondering if I can use a different app that would sync up with my system since this one doesn’t seem to work at all.

### 1/5 — Worst Company & App on the Planet

*2023-01-01, version 2.3.2*

This app is completely useless. You can’t see anything going on with your solar panel system. I’m told my meter isn’t communicating, and have been being told for over 6 months that it will be replaced. Glad I’m not holding my breath waiting for it!! So I have no clue if my system actually works or not, glad I’m paying for this garbage system for nothing. The app has “autopay” YEAH RIGHT. Every month the autopay fails and they mark me late for not paying, but I have to keep the autopay option on to get the discount off the monthly bill. WHAT A JOKE. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PATHETIC COMPANY UNLESS YOU ENJOY CONSTANT HEADACHES AND AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH A WAIT TIME FOR COMPLETION OF FOREVER.

### 1/5 — Consistently crashes

*2022-12-09, version 2.3.2*

Every time this app is opened from the background it crashes. That means force closing it every time you want to look at it.

That on its own isn’t entirely debilitating. I can live with a few extra flicks. However, the problems don’t end here.

Imo, The purpose of this app is to provide the consumer with UP TO DATE information. This app fails at this purpose as it can sometimes be days without updates. How are we supposed to know a panel has a giant hole in it if we don’t have consistently delivered statistics??

Finally: the graphics provided aren’t very helpful. They only give information on the system as a whole. No attempt has been made to show individual solar panel statistics— This is essential information. How do we know every individual panel is functioning??

### 1/5 — Worst app and worse company

*2022-10-22, version 2.3.2*

App is complete trash compare to any other solar company this place must be based out of a trailer park . Do your self a favor complain enough and they will give you a log on to emphase so you can see real data . Absolute trash of a company from sales reps to techs . Almost caused a fire at my house . RUN IF YOU STILL CAN.

### 1/5 — Don’t use this company

*2022-09-15, version 2.3.2*

You got company who set in their old ways. Other company’s you can monitor your pannels and tell how much each pannel produces in live time. But old sun run is old giant who set in their own ways in the 80s and can’t get up to date with technology in today world. Oh wait did I mention how bad customer service is how two company’s have no idea what going on. If I were you never use sun run I regret using them I will never use them again or refer businesses to them

### 1/5 — Has never worked

*2022-09-13, version 2.3.2*

We’ve been customers for 2 months. Our system has never been connected to the app even after Sunrun sent someone out to make sure the system was connected. He told my husband to use an App called Enphase. However, we can’t use the Sunrun app at all.

### 1/5 — What is the point to this app?

*2022-08-20, version 2.3.2*

Tried logging in a few times. Just get wheel of death. Called “customer service” dear lord that was worse than calling the cable company. We bought the property with SunRun lease and that was a mistake. Should have made the prior owner pay this stupid thing off before we settled the sale. This company won’t survive if they can’t get their act together.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — System works great

*2022-06-14, version 2.3.2*

The system took some time to turn on but it’s great to see monthly production on the app. I love going solar and saving money!

### 5/5 — Really intuitive easy to use

*2022-02-09, version 2.3.2*

How nifty is it that we can check out how much we’re helping out the Earth and solely through this app?! Amazing how far technology has taken us

### 4/5 — Good window to the system

*2023-07-28*

This app has a very nice layout with both numerical and graphic representations of solar capture across time. It is easy and friendly to view and understand. I also very much like the numerical comparisons to other energy sources, which I consider important real-world information. The other tabs such as account settings and such are readily accessible.

On the negative side; While the app normally does a good job of being current (within a day), it occasionally does not display data for a few days at a time, although it eventually catches up. It should not be necessary to view it every day anyway. Particularly since the system has to interconnect with the local power provider, I’m not sure that it is the app to blame for these delays. As such, I think that some of the one and two star reviews might be misguided.

The unknown here for us at this time (and hopefully remains so) is how it does with reporting a system fault or failure.

### 3/5 — Not working for days

*2022-11-06, version 2.3.2*

I was using this everyday shortly after having shoal installed. Then it quit working. It won’t open so I can see how well m new panels are working. Very frustrating indeed.

### 3/5 — Just ok

*2022-01-21, version 2.3.2*

It would be nice if they had more real-time monitoring of their system. I know the technical capability exists as their techs were using a different app to test the installation and view the output in real-time. I’m not sure why the customer cannot have the same thing even if a bit simplified…

### 3/5 — Nice app but could be more

*2020-10-26, version 2.2.1*

While the app is nice at telling you what you have produced, I would love it could show you how much of your houses usage you produce, or home much money it saves you, or something to compare it too. Especially since your account is already tied to your energy provider, it would be nice to see the comparison

### 3/5 — Info makes little sense it is an improvement

*2020-09-18, version 2.2.1*

I wrote a harsh review and this is an update. I appreciate the change on the graph from “production” to “solar” (but is battery power being counted twice?)

The recent changes may be confusing, but it’s possible we are now getting some useful information if it’s accurate.

Can we have access to more than just 24 hours of hourly data please. Even if it were 72 hours, it would be helpful...then I could see at least one or two whole nights.

### 2/5 — Not a great app

*2022-11-17, version 2.3.2*

I’d really love to write a review that says how I love the app and how it shows real-time production rates. I can’t. It’s an extremely basic app and your info updates twice a day if you’re lucky. I’m not unhappy with the solar from SunRun, but the app is not good and is only marginally informative

### 2/5 — Its okay but solaredges app is way better

*2022-10-16, version 2.3.2*

Look this app is okay. It does the absolute basics. Data is very slow to get, like wait 6 hours kind of slow, but it does eventually get there. But if you have SolarEdge's inverters, do yourself a favor and ask Sunrun customer care to provision this access to you - they have to do it for you. It will be a little tricky to get from them as they don't like giving it out for some weird reason, but stuns me at just how much better it is than MySunrun. Near real time data and WAY more detailed information! Why the MySunrun team don't just copy it blows my mind. Its exactly what the customer wants to know.

### 2/5 — Awesomely Horrible

*2022-07-03, version 2.3.2*

It’s such an inferior app to ANY app I’ve ever downloaded onto my phone. Seeing as how the data is a day behind, it’s all the more frustrating that you never know if the data is going to fully load when the app opens. Then the graph key is always popping up on top of the graph so you have a hard time seeing what’s there. There’s nothing about the app that feels updated or interactive. Instead it seems stuck in the 1980s. It’s an insult to the customer that Sunrun invested so little time, effort and funds on this app. All of the billing, documentation, and consumer information ought to be add-ons to what should be a really great place to get real-time solar panel performance data. This is what I believe the consumer wants. We’d be much happier if Sunrun would commit a little more time, effort, and maybe funds into improving this app.
