There are some additional useful features that are locked behind a $7.99 paywall, and in addition, included in that price they give you 7 months of whatever new stuff they create for the app in that time frame. Question to the Dev: I often use the old Red Book Mythic rules, IE, I often use Mythic as a standalone game system using rules from that book, and I use several of the rules from Mythic Variations, and Mythic Variations 2, especially the “Statistic Check” rules in Variations 2. Are you planning on having those charts from those systems in the app? It would be very helpful for me. I would love to have those charts, and check abilities in this app, along with a separate section just to write overall notes to record the whole story in one place. My goal would be to be able to leave my notebook for recording everything at home, and just play entirely using the charts and checks and note sections in the app, and I really want that Statistic Check ability so I can use Mythic as a standalone RPG system on the fly. **Developer response:** Hey thanks for the great review! Do a solo session on a plane! Did so recently and loved it. I’ve used the Mythic Deck for a solo Call of Cthulhu game previously and absolutely loved the ease of use. I just tried Mythic GME Mobile with a new game of Mage: The Ascension (Revised Quickstart). The app brings another order of magnitude ease of use to solo gaming RPGs. I never was all that great at tracking scenes and sifting through PDFs to find the right table. The app’s streamlined workflow makes it easy to spin up scenes, check Fate, track the Chaos Factor, pull up keywords for various genre tables, and roll game-specific dice for crunch. There’s no looking back. The app is super fast, intuitive, and convenient. As a result, I find myself focusing more on the unfolding story than scene and game mechanics. You’ll need to know Mythic, so I advise getting the latest guide that includes refinements to the system now beautifully reflected in the app. **Developer response:** Thank you so much for this detailed and thoughtful review, TroyKlu! It's worth its price for every one of its functions, dice thrower with formulas, roll on meaning tables, ask the oracle. It’s really awesome that a random NPC event will roll from your list of characters. Minor complaint (not enough to drop a star) is that when rolling on a list you can roll an “empty” entry that has the text “Choose”. This means getting a random event that has to do with a NPC for example may just say Choose. I'd be happy to figure out what's going on. ### 3/5 — Wonderful! But there are issues. *2025-12-11* This app is tons of fun for using gme on the go! However there are a couple issues. First: whenever I bring up the “i” menu it immediately automatically shuts the window inhumanly fast before I can read the text. Secondly: despite having purchased premium and having attempted to use the restore purchases option, it still says that the premium tables are still locked and unaccessible. Other than that? It’s lovely. **Developer response:** Hi TifsTafs! I believe the issue with the i menu closing has been resolved in the release of 1.5.8! Please let me know if you still have issues there. Regarding the premium tables, please shoot me an email so I can investigate more for you: support@jasonholtdigital.com -- it helps if you can give me your iOS version number, which device you are on, etc. Thank you for enjoying the app! ### 4/5 — iCloud sync *2026-04-17* (ver 1.6.2) update: disabling iCloud fixed both problems (losing changes and slow loading of tables). great tool for solo RP but the journal system really isn’t working. prior to the current ver there would be no sync between gadgets even though “Use iCloud Sync” is on. immediately after this update, every single time I quit the app (even leaving it in the background), all the changes will be reset when I return. so it’s even worse than before. also, the tables take way too long to load, both on iPhone and iPad (A16). hope to see some improvements next time ### 5/5 — Nice one *2026-07-23* It would benefit a lot from shrinking top bar on mobile. ### 5/5 — Excellent tool! *2026-04-29* This is a top notch app that greatly enhances the Mythic GM Emulator! ### 5/5 — Incredible start, so grateful!! *2026-02-12* I'm so thrilled this exists in app form. I have a 2 hour commute daily (crowded train) and my games have been flourishing with that extra time, and I am flourishing as a result. Thank you Tana and team! One thing I'd love to see is the option to paste Adventure Log results to Scenes in reverse order, so that they're readable from top to bottom + more usable as a journal. Rn I am pasting results one at a time and writing notes and interpretations above in the scene. Im kind of struggling on how to play solo and I think this is going to make it really cool fast and fun. Also I can say no doubt I’ll use this for DM as well for random sparks for npcs plot twists monster tweaks. Using this and Obsidian for note taking pretty much allows for soloing any TTRPG. The Chaos factor and Random events bring interesting twists, the clear and simple Fate Questions system will provide answers to any question, and the many Meaning Tables will help you develop the story.
