### 4/5 — Good story

*2021-11-03*

There is a good storyline in this game. But the glitches keep it from being a great game.

### 3/5 — Meh

*2020-12-07, version 1.0.0*

*Update: upon playing this game again, it wasn’t as bad as I thought at first. It was enjoyable. Of course, game standards have fallen drastically during the past five years, so that’s probably why it seems better now. I would have upped my rating to 4 stars, but I encountered a glitch in the extras menu. I had finished the entire game + bonus, and I was going through the hops to get gold trophies and missed morphing objects, when suddenly the game reset itself and deleted my profile! Now if I want to get the hop trophies I would have to re-play the entire game! No thanks!

I'm sorry Eipix, I usually love your games, but this one was just tedious. Very linear game play, don't need the map at all. The story could be good, but it is so poorly done. Just snippets of dialog here and there, not really a "story." Also, the stupid vial of light. You just tap on sparkly areas in the fog, then pick out shapes. Borrring. Now for the tapping issues. Where you tap is not always where the game thinks you are. In one scene, when trying to find the black rose, I had tapped on what I thought was it, many times. So, to find it I had to just tap tap tap from edge to edge, moving up in tiny increments. And where was it? Right where I thought it was in the first place! Also, I like to play on the hardest level, but with this one I couldn't bc when I clicked on an object that showed an interaction could be done, turns out it wasn't THAT object at all, but the one next to it. Which of course did not show that an interaction was possible. And lastly, since NO FREE TRIAL, I bought the stupid game. If I had tried it, I would not have done so. Is that what bf is coming to? Crappy games that they know you won't buy if you get a trial, so no free trial anymore?

### 4/5 — A really good game

*2019-05-27, version 1.0.0*

I enjoyed this puzzle, just bought for £2.99, struggle to find new games now Big Fish have stopped and I have bought so many. This game was a good mix of puzzles and hos, I did deduct a point because the map was located elsewhere but it did show where to go, so didn’t need the hint button. No problems for me and the game was a good length also the bonus. It was a shame I couldn’t go back to collect 2 missing roses and also there was not much in the extras.

### 4/5 — Good game

*2018-10-21, version 1.0.0*

Great game, good story, lots of hops and puzzles. The only problem is sometimes if I start a new game, there is no sound, no music or voices, I really hope you can fix that. Otherwise it’s a very enjoyable game

### 4/5 — Black roses

*2015-12-12*

Kept my interest, sometimes this is had to do. Looking forward to the next one.

### 4/5 — Love the game...hate the glitches

*2015-11-27*

I would give this 5 ⭐️'s but it was difficult at times to pick things up or connect thing during the game and during HOP's. You would be clicking on the correct spot but it will give you an xxxxx. So that is my only problem.

### 4/5 — LOVED IT

*2015-11-23*

For the very first time my review about an Eipix game is mixed. I actually enjoyed this game, this story. I thought that the game matched the story which is one thing you can count on with Eipix. I also enjoyed the twists and turns the story took.

But... I'm not quite sure what happened this time, if it was in the porting process or what. But there did seem to be a problem with the "tap fields" surrounding a lot of objects. They seemed to be very, small and very precise. You definitely had to find the "sweet spot" surrounding the object you were trying to pick up or more frequently when you needed to place something onto or with another object. And to be honest, I hate saying ANYTHING negative against Eipix since they are my favorite dev team but I wasn't much of a fan of the "guess the object" clues. It's the first time I'd ever seen this in an Eipix game. Also, I don't know if others experienced the same thing but I had lots of trouble with dialogue cutting out on me. It happened mostly when I returned to the game after a break. I'd have to close the game and reopen it from the icon. I thought it was my "old" iPad 3r but I just switched to a Pro and had the same issues.

I'm so sorry to the guys at Eipix for giving such an "eh" review. This was a shocking first for me for sure!

Hey guys, have you thought of trying out something comical? That's one thing this genre is sorely lacking!

### 4/5 — Good so far

*2015-11-22*

So many of these games lately need you to constantly go back again and again over the same territory to find one object at a time. I find the toolbar and puzzles better than the last game I tried and deleted. Like this one so far!

### 3/5 — Still a few bugs to work out

*2015-11-20*

Things were going well and I was enjoying the game until I got stuck at the Eastmire Close gate. I found the wires, plugged them in, but then didn't finish the mini-game right away. Usually my gameplay is saved in other games, but in this case when I came back, the wires disappeared and there was no way to retrieve them from the phone any longer. I tried several times to restart the game, but no luck. Frustrating! Looks like the only option is to restart. Please fix this bug! Would like to have given a higher rating.

### 5/5 — Fun

*2015-11-19, version 1.0.0*

Best game I have played in a long time👌🏻😀👌👍🎶

### 5/5 — Singing....Awwweeeessssommmmeeeee

*2015-11-18, version 1.0.0*

Oh my god....I absolutely loved this game. Didn't think I would...but was hooked.Would of liked to of been a vampire for a bit longer 😃Brilliant storyline. I did have a problem with the sound. After switching my iPad off and on the sound returned. I really hope to see another game like this. Def worth 5 stars...it was fangtastic 😊 ❤️

### 5/5 — Fun game, wish it was longer

*2015-11-18*

I really liked the game, but I thought it was to short, puzzles were different from other games and I really liked the hidden objects, they were different from the usuale ones. Also, it's nice that the prices have come down.

### 4/5 — Good Game!

*2015-11-18, version 1.0.0*

Good story, nice graphics and lots of extras. Definitely worth $3.99!!!

### 5/5 — Very nice

*2015-11-18*

I liked this one. It seemed different-different games, puzzles & HOS. Beautifully drawn with lots to do and plentiful scenes. Minor execution issues-several HOS required double or triple taps. Two kinds of collectibles and a souvenir room, teleporting map & hint button, decent storyline, cut scenes & voiceovers. Liked the collecting of energy and geometric shapes for the light vial-well done Eipix! I won't punish you for the tricks of your overlord, but Big Greedy Fish: STOP with the immediate purchase only with no trial. We DON'T like it. It FORCES us to buy without knowing what we're buying. We get it, you want more money. Have you noticed most of us are waiting to buy until at least Dracyy or Sunshine Susie have told us something? Are your numbers down? You only have yourselves to blame...

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Game crashes

*2019-05-02, version 1.0.0*

Crashes at gate with the wires. What a pain.

### 1/5 — Black rose

*2016-12-23, version 1.0.0*

Can't open Simons case with the coloured tubes given up now

### 1/5 — Great until it crashed

*2016-02-18, version 1.0.0*

Really enjoying this game until it crashed at the gate with the wires. Not looking forward to reloading and trying again.

### 1/5 — Total Crap

*2015-11-13, version 1.0.0*

Glad I only spent $3.99. This game must have been developed by a 5th grader. So lame and non-sensical. Save your $$$!!

### 1/5 — 👿😡😱 Fleece, Bamboozle, Cozen 😱😡👿

*2015-11-13*

Greetings, Gamers: 👄

My first review wasn't posted - that should tell you something there.

I've become increasingly disillusioned with Big Fish and their games - and I don't mean the ones put out by Mad Head, Eipix and other developers. Seems we now have to buy in order to play at all. That's a disturbing trend that seems here to stay. This also means you can't even read the iPad reviews unless you pay. Ponying up cash just to read reviews?
So the price is adjusted accordingly? I'd rather pay $4.99 for a trial run than $3.99 just to find I've been hornswoggled.

Too bad I have to give this game only one star to reflect my feelings toward Big Fish - if given their own separate category for job performance, they'd get zero stars - and owe their customers apologies and refunds.
Let's see if this review gets posted. Highly doubtful that BF can take the criticism from a long-standing, loyal customer. If it does get posted, it'll be buried.

Until next time, fellow gamers, (and don't hold your breath, I'm certainly not)

May the non-swizzing stars light your way,
✨✨✨👛✨✨✨💰✨✨✨💸✨✨✨😡✨✨✨😯✨✨✨💋

### 2/5 — Okay

*2019-05-06, version 1.0.0*

But must press repeatedly to get anything to happen

### 2/5 — Dull

*2018-05-19, version 1.0.0*

Gameplay lags, storyline is boring, graphics are dark. Just doesn't hold my interest.

### 2/5 — Bug please fix

*2015-11-20*

I agree with Cadams below, same thing happened to me. I was in the mini game with the wires, but didn't finish and now I can't get the wires back from the phone in Sheriff's office. I have to start all over again. This really needs a fix please.

### 2/5 — Move over Christopher Lee. There's a new vampire in town!

*2015-11-15, version 1.0.0*

UPDATE: I had a fatal flaw in the game where I closed out of a puzzle in which I had to apply wires to a gate to initiate it. The next day, the wires for the gate were missing in both the puzzle and the inventory; and the location where I acquired them shows that I already closed out the area. Now I have to delete and reinstall. Total waste of time. Deducting 2 stars for this unacceptable circumstance.
Warning! This game is not for the squeamish. You will see blood, bats, spiders, coffins, etc. You are a vampire hunter; and together with your partner, Simon, you travel to Louisiana to pursue a vampire, Benjamin Brooks. The graphics were clear and a little faded with many shades of red and purple, which help to achieve an ominous atmosphere appropriate for a vampire thriller. Most of the setting takes place during the evening sunset hours or at night. I liked how you travel to different locations as you progress so you get a "movie" effect instead of just poking around the usual mansion or alleyways. The music adds elements of mystery and suspense when suited. This game includes interactive game mechanics, such as making potions and performing spells and rituals. They keep the game mentally engaging. Early in, you acquire a vampire journal, which, at times, you can open only when you are creating potions or removing spells or curses. Sometimes a mini game will initiate to open this journal, such as choosing separate patterns to create a complete symbol. There are 3 modes of difficulty with no option to customize settings. The map allows transport to locations; available actions and objectives, if applicable; and has labeled location names. You need to tap on a location once to view the location label; tap again to transport. The inventory is labeled and does require assembly. The HOS are varied and interactive. One example is when you start out with a word list ending with a riddle; then another HOS initiates as "find the item by picture", ending with another riddle and putting an item together. You can opt to play a bubble shooter game instead. The puzzles are interesting. Some are short and simple, such as using a magnifying glass to find a room number in a book. Others give you a chain of multiple, separate mini puzzles; and when you complete one, the camera pans to the next one. I found them to be a lot of fun. You are collecting 43 black roses in the locations - you may have to interact to find them, 14 pumpkins - easy to spot, and morphing objects in the HOS. The extras are the usual offerings, with the addition of a souvenir box and a bubble shooter game. I did not like several aspects, including the following: 1. I dislike having to go through the menu to access the map and objectives (book style) since this is an unnecessary step and disrupts gameplay. 2. There is no option to customize so we have to deal with sparkles and HOS mistap penalties. 3. Again, another game with no "back" button so we are taken back a screen. 4. There is no journal except for the objectives stored in the form of a book. Maybe in this game it depends on what difficulty level you are playing? 5. One idea that I think the developers could have improved on was to let us figure out who the vampire is instead of directly pursuing an identified individual, which would have added some mystery and suspense. That is just my idea I guess. Overall, the game is still far better than the last one; and even with the aforementioned issues, I feel the game had many interactive elements and held my interest in many ways, which is why I gave it four stars.

### 2/5 — Not one of their best

*2015-11-14, version 1.0.0*

I tried to like this game but couldn't. The storyline is dull, there's no real logic or adventure in some of the required auctions. The HOPs are just OK, the puzzles are terrible with vague objectives. The geometric puzzles were the best part. Overall not an enjoyable game. Do better Big Fish.

### 5/5 — Black Rose

*2018-01-18, version 1.0.0*

Eipix games just keep getting better!

### 5/5 — GREAT CREEPY VAMPIRE GAME

*2016-07-28, version 1.0.0*

What a great game! Excellent graphics & videos. The mini games are good too nothing taxing right now but that could well change and not too many hos. Some creepy vampires and other mysterious things will creep you out. A long way to go but so far very enjoyable.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2016-03-19*

I've played this three times now and enjoy it more each time. Great story and flow of action. I especially liked the indicator for collectableson each scene so you can keep searching till you find it (really extends game play). Excellent graphics, sound and story. Great job. Worth every penny

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2016-02-23, version 1.0.0*

Very good storyline and puzzles!

### 5/5 — BRILLIANT!!! ❤️❤️❤️

*2016-02-14, version 1.0.0*

Absolutely loved this game.
Stunning graphics, great storyline, nice mixture of puzzles & HOS, the creepy atmosphere is captured perfectly & voice acting is bang on as is the music & cut scenes.
It's a long game with a good long bonus chapter & plenty of Collectables.
One of the best I've played and well worth 5 stars. No glitches on iPad Air.

### 5/5 — Specialkate

*2016-01-17*

I usually don't rate the games, but I have to say I really like this one!

### 5/5 — Very good!

*2015-12-21, version 1.0.0*

I like that there is an indicator that tells you whether or not you have found the rose in each scene and the morphing object in each HOS. Makes it easier to keep track. My only complaint is the two-step process to open the map.

### 5/5 — Masterpiece

*2015-11-28, version 1.0.0*

Eipix fills out a trouble-free performance (excellent flow, well-organized guide & map features) and engaging story line (which includes fresh mini-puzzle ideas and multi-step H.O.P.s) with several hidden object collections and numerous post-game play options. Very worthy.

### 5/5 — Black rose

*2015-11-20, version 1.0.0*

It's great as there should be more of them ...
