The app clearly has problems in syncing with the car. In particular the remote scheduling for charging doesn’t work and the mapping trips feature is very poor. However, all the on board software works as advertised so I suspect most of the problem is in the local development of the app and the interfacing to the new vehicle. ### 4/5 — Find car *2026-07-23, version 13.4.0* Slow to find ### 1/5 — New Interface *2026-07-15, version 13.4.0* I hate this new user interface. Worst of all for the bZ4X, there is no remote start/stop charging option. Every single time I need to stop a charge early, I have to go down to the garage to physically unlock the vehicle and yank the cord out. Great that I can lock/ unlock start my car remotely except it has a monthly cost. Also using the maps built into the car costs extra. Disappointed when it’s all part of the sales pitch. Using Apple play gets past that one. Overall I can keep track of my cars servicing etc and different car alerts. I have connected my vehicle in the app and there is no status about fuel, km and Gps there. Called Toyota connect more 15 times and email also 10 times. Still there is no reply from technical team about problems. Keep telling the same story again, we are looking into it from last 4 weeks. Use to be able to see recent car location, trip an and trip b status etc. Now it’s as useless as a chocolate tea pot. Unbelievable how it has 7k 5 star reviews…something ain’t right. I can read some negative reviews but shows 5 stars. Additionally, they removed the AC option for 2024 kluger. The costumer representative told me that my car doesn’t have that option. Whilst during my trial period, I was happy setting my AC remotely. ### 1/5 — Too slow *2026-07-24, version 13.4.0* Too slow ### 1/5 — Can’t even reset my password *2026-07-21, version 13.4.0* Even there’s an option, but can’t get password reset ### 1/5 — Everyday features locked behind a paywall *2026-07-20, version 13.4.0* For the first 12 months of my new car I had 12 complementary Toyota connect, I thought nothing of it and used the car like any other car I have owned. 12 months later and the complementary subscription ends, I figure I don’t need remote unlock or remote start so why bother paying for a feature I don’t use? Turns out that’s not the case. My entire profile has been wiped from the car. The ability to create a local profile, non-existent. Seat memory, gone. Instrument cluster settings, gone. All the annoying beeps I switched off, back. Remembering what phone belongs to what driver, gone. The equaliser for the stereo, gone. Not gone as in reset, gone as in I no longer have the privilege of changing the bass or treble on my stereo. Why on earth Toyota thinks it’s acceptable to lock features from the early 2000’s behind a $10/month paywall is astounding and a needless money grab. Don’t waste your time with this app and if you haven’t already paid for the Toyota you’re looking at buying, look elsewhere. I certainly won’t be buying a Toyota for my next vehicle. ### 1/5 — impossible to log back *2026-07-15, version 13.4.0* Terrible user experience, logs me out and can't log in with the password stored in my apple keystore. Even trying to change the password is a chore. does not accept a perfectly compliant password generated by apple keystore where the password contains all the required character types.
