## What is MyTrainer?

MyTrainer is an indoor cycling app that connects to your Bluetooth smart trainer, power meter, and heart rate monitor. No subscription required, no features locked behind a paywall. You get full trainer control and workout tracking from day one.

The app shows your heart rate, power, cadence, and speed in real time while you ride. If you have a smart trainer, you can adjust resistance directly from the app — either manually or by letting MyTrainer hold you in a target power range automatically.
You can ride freely or build structured interval workouts with custom targets for heart rate, power, or resistance. Save your templates and reuse them whenever you want.

After your ride, you get a detailed summary with interactive charts and metrics. If you use Strava, you can connect your account and upload workouts with one tap. The app also integrates with Apple Health — import your profile data for accurate calorie calculations, and optionally save workouts to the Health app.
During a workout, Live Activities show your metrics on the lock screen and Dynamic Island so you don't have to keep the app open.
All your data stays on your device. Nothing is shared unless you choose to upload to Strava or save to Apple Health.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-14

Thanks for riding with MyTrainer! This update is all about smoother interval workouts and more reliable sensors.

NEW
• Skip intervals — jump past the current interval in a structured workout with one tap.
• Keep riding after the plan — when the last interval ends, the workout no longer stops on its own. It rolls into a free ride, with resistance control unlocked, until you end it.
• Automatic reconnection — if your heart rate monitor or another saved sensor drops out mid-ride, the app keeps trying to reconnect for the rest of the session.

FIXED
• Bikes that report pulse through their hand grips (iConsole-style consoles) now show heart rate — previously they connected but no pulse appeared.
• Heart rate no longer sticks at its last value in workout history after a sensor disconnect — charts now show a true gap instead of a flat line.
• The resistance slider is disabled with a hint when no smart trainer is connected.
