### 1/5 — Hidden temperature control

*2025-10-17*

They moved the ability to adjust the temperature under settings, advanced, thermostat, settings. The feature that I need every time I open the app and is buried.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2025-10-10*

I used to be able to adjust the temperature from my app. That functionality is gone. All you can do from the app is look at the temperature and see what mode the unit is running. It is worthless. Don’t know why they changed it but it’s garbage.

### 1/5 — Horrible interface

*2025-10-10*

The unit is great, but the interface is horrible. The thermostat is a pain to use, and this app is useless. I cannot adjust the temperature in the app. I have to get out of bed and attempt to adjust the temperature on the thermostat itself, when traditional ac units can be controlled with a cheap HomeKit thermostat. At the very least they should offer smart home integration.

### 1/5 — Shockingly bad

*2025-09-25, version 2.2*

Totally useless, like it’s designed by someone who has never had a heating system. Can’t see how the system is performing or change anything. Wish I could change heat pump brands. Can’t find any of the graphs that used to show how and when it was performing. And the fact I need two factor authentication just to log in to my own personal heating is crazy, who’s trying to hack into that? So bad! Please give me back the old version that was also bad but not stupid.

### 1/5 — Every update it’s get more pointless

*2025-09-22, version 2.1*

The original app showed brine temps , hot water temps , graphs , I kept a record to show the legionella cycle, this latest version tells me literally nothing , NIBE need to bin the Myuplink app and get something decent

### 1/5 — Useless at best

*2025-09-11*

This app is junk. It should be removed from Appstore. You’re better off using the web page.

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless

*2025-09-05, version 2.1*

This app was already very poorly designed - the recent update makes it absolutely useless. It no longer displays the status of the heatpump - whether it is on or off, wether it is heating water or radiators - there is no longer a simple way of boosting hot water when needed - really, there is no point in having the app at all if everything has to be fine by going to the heatpump itself to make changes. And we are excited to pay an annual subscription for this! Absolutely hopeless

### 1/5 — Why? And how?

*2025-08-02*

Where am I supposed to put in a schedule for the unit? It’s impossible so far to add a simple schedule for temp home vs away?!?!?

### 1/5 — How do you sleep at night?

*2025-07-31, version 2.1*

Surely it’s human nature to do your job well and try and make the world a better place in some small way. Unless you’re a psychopath, I suppose, then it works differently. The previous app was terrible and time and effort has been expended to make the upgrade EVEN WORSE. We have two heat pumps and I want to easily see the water tank temperature, the buffer temperature and the status of each pump. I’d love to be able to just switch them on and off. I used to have a gas boiler I could control so easily and yet I didn’t appreciate how wonderful my life was. Now I have a constant battle of wills with my recalcitrant and non communicative heat pumps.

Are they even operating? Heat? Water? That would be so lovely to know. I could do that with the old app at least. But no. I can see the water temperature by navigating through the menus to a graph which might be half an hour out of date . I can see how much energy the pumps are using, but no idea whether which one or both, are on, and if are doing heating or water. And don’t get me started on the 45 minute ‘pre heat cycle’ which means if you have a sudden demand for hot water there’s a 45 minute delay before it even thinks about waking up. At the moment it’s the summer so I’m just managing the hot water. Trying to manage the heating will another level of annoyance.

Please guys, just look at the reviews and strive to do better and make the world a happier place.

Please don’t tell me to upgrade to a super premium version, I already pay (having spent £10’sk on your pumps) just do your job like decent human beings.

### 1/5 — Completely useless app which is even less use than the previously useless version

*2025-07-31, version 2.0.1*

Heating and hot water controls have been around since boiler controllers were invented. How is it even possible to develop an app which prevents you from seeing key information in one place and to be able to set controls simply ? Ok, heat pumps are more complex and require a more proactive approach to control given their slowness to decide to switch on. But the arcane and still unexplained nature of the control capability of the system remains a vast puzzle.
Luckily the heat pumps work well once they’ve decided to fire up (despite the still unexplained and problematic 45 minute ‘pre-heating’ phase during which they heat nothing). But the controls are simply abysmal and I would question whether to put in a Nibe system again in future.
All that plus an additional annual cost to be able to see anything useful and perform any useful control activity and your head will be in your hands.
So, Nibe: enough is enough. Fire your developers and contact me to provide some real world use-cases to enable you to build a functional app, before your reputation starts to affect your future business.

### 1/5 — Reduced features more cost

*2025-07-31, version 2.0.1*

Useless Home Screen, cannot see basic readings eg hot water temperature without numerous (mislabelled/unintuitive) click throughs. Outrageous that there is no access to history of eg water temp unless you pay two subscriptions, @ £25 per annum each. Having spent over £20k on Nibe equipment and install this is extreme penny pinching and unfair. Key features and settings buried deep inside the app, complete unintuitive. Very frustrated. Myuplink you need to do better.

### 1/5 — Rubbish.

*2025-07-20, version 2.0.1*

Got to be the worse app I have to use can’t see what temperature hot water is, when temperature room is or any useful data! What the point in having a system that monitors loads of different data points if the app doesn’t let you see any of it. It’s so poor when I get asked would I recommend ashp no is the answer unless it has a better app than this

### 1/5 — Update app

*2025-07-15, version 2.0.1*

Very disappointed with the loss of visibility control and functionality - I go back to the old app please

### 1/5 — Ver2 even worse than Ver1

*2025-07-13, version 2.0*

As others have already commented since the update at end of June 25. All the useful features such as hot water profiles and temperatures now removed. Navigation through the menus and sub menus is not intuitive. I can’t believe I pay for the premium service and this update is worse than the hopeless ver 1. There can have been no user testing before launch, in this day and age it’s hard to imagine such poor software development. I’m sure school kids could write better code..

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2025-07-10*

This new update is trash. Previous version was far better.

### 1/5 — Functionality removed

*2025-07-08, version 2.0*

Very disappointing to have functionality removed in the upgraded app. The hot water history has been moved behind a paywall, which is disappointing.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not Intuitive - Frustrating and Difficult

*2026-08-09*

Setting “Sleep” and “Wake” times should be simple and intuitive. Sadly, nothing is simple or intuitive in this app. Without hyperbole, this is the least user friendly app on my phone.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2026-07-22*

This app stops working and will not load.

### 1/5 — Thermostat

*2026-04-26*

If you have anything that uses this app you have been screwed... its junk.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback we’re sorry to hear that you feel this way about the app. To better understand your concerns and improve the experience, we’d appreciate it if you could share more details about what you don't like in the app. Please feel free to send us more information at help@myuplink.com, and we’ll be happy to look into it further.

### 1/5 — Not as good as the old CTC app

*2026-04-12, version 2.6.1*

Updated review April 2026. Still one star!!! This app got a bit better at one point and probably warranted a 3 star or even 4 star review (version 2.3.1 (2342) . You could put the hot water on for 1/2 hour etc and you could click the save button and you’d know you’d done it. It would also show on the app that you’d done this as the 0.5 would stay on the screen. This latest iteration is dreadful yet again. No idea if I’ve turned the hot water on for half hour as there’s a save button for changing from eco to comfort etc but not for adding a boost to the hot water. You do that, and the 0.5 disappears from the screen and it looks like you haven’t done it. The only way of telling that you’ve instructed it to do something is to go to “general” and see if the DHW is on or not. But you’ve no idea at that point if you’ve put it on correctly for 0.5 hour or made an error and it’s on for an hour!! Does nobody test these releases ?? Ref release 2.6.1 (2689)

This app was supposed to be an “upgrade” from the old CTC app that I had that was no longer going to be supported by CTC or Nibe or whoever it is who controls the app. This my uplink app is poor . You can’t scroll up and down like you could on the old CTC app, so you can’t seewhether the hot water is on and all the other screens, unless you actually come out of one screen and then go back into another screen ; it’s just so not user-friendly. It also falls over quite frequently. At the moment I’m struggling to get anything working at all on the myUplink. For days it kept telling me the temperature outside was 11° when it clearly wasn’t and now I can not control my hot water or my holiday mode from this quite useless app. I think there was an update last weekend that took it from being fairly useless to completely useless and it keeps telling me I’ve got no Internet connection. I have got Internet connection ; there’s nothing wrong with it. Please sort this app out. I’m quite lucky that because I have a CTC product I’m not paying for it but a lot of people are paying decent money for this app. It needs to be right and it’s most certainly not. Update July 24 this app just gets worse and worse. A month ago I could easily see on the dashboard if I’d put it into holiday mode or not but now I have to go into menu and check . Why has this gone from the dashboard? Do you care about this app or your customers? This is the 21st century and we should have much better functionality remotely operating our very expensive heat pumps . Not good enough

### 1/5 — Upgrade

*2026-03-27, version 2.6*

You’ve upgraded software again and made the app unusable

### 1/5 — Peak District

*2026-01-29, version 2.4*

Shocking

### 1/5 — Worthless app

*2025-12-22*

I should’ve known not to try to install it when I saw how low the reviews were on this app. I have a brand new iPhone with iOS 26 and it will not connect to the device. My advice to the developers is to either update the app or take it off the App Store. As it is right now, it is taking up valuable real estate on my phone!

**Developer response:** This is know issue and we are working on fixing this, but we would like to understand this better. Please share more details about the connection issue by contacting us at help@myuplink.com, so we can investigate and help resolve it. In the meantime please make sure that the app and heat pump are up to date and try to reinstall the app and do the the process again.

### 1/5 — Losing features with each update.

*2025-11-28*

Part could be related to IOS 26 but not all. After installing IOS 26 I was no longer able to adjust temperature in app. I believe myUplink did an update to correct that but now I can not find where to adjust fan on and off. The new swipe to adjust temperature is difficult to adjust by 1 degree and the numbers are small and difficult to read. It also appears you can not adjust hot water temp in app now. App or thermostat sometimes does not connect to servers and thermostat does not respond to app adjustments. I could list many other issues but those are some of the big ones.
I have Climate Master Geo that requires or did require a specific thermostat. The old thermostat was a model built by Ecobee. It was a very basic thermostat but the app was full of features. Climate Master switched to a very low quality thermostat that was possibly developed by them and it uses the myuplink app. One of the most advanced and expensive Geo thermal units uses the cheapest thermostat with a bad app. This is really sad but I would not purchase another Climate Master Geothermal HVAC unit solely from the thermostat and app.

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2025-10-29*

Works for a day or 2 then stops. Horrible service.

### 1/5 — No temp control

*2025-10-17*

I’m using iOS 18.6.2 and the app doesn’t let me change the current temp setting. That would be THE most basic thing a thermostat app should do

## Most praised reviews (8 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Customer service helped

*2026-05-31*

Used for a year now. Works consistently. The app is admittedly complex from a UX standpoint. The customer service folks helped.

### 5/5 — Customer service helped

*2025-08-19*

The app is admittedly complex from a UX standpoint. The customer service folks helped.

### 5/5 — Solid app

*2023-12-11*

Recently had a climatemaster tranquility 22 unit installed which I love. Not to do with the app but if getting a geothermal unit installed make sure you get someone who is skilled at installation especially if replacing an existing unit. There are lots of general HVAC service providers, who only dabble in Geothermal. you want someone who does a lot of units and knows the ins and outs of installation and maintenance. The new unit came with a climatemaster igate2 thermostat for which you will need this app to connect.

Pros
Easy user interface
Has all of the standard functions you would want (setting schedules, controlling humidity, monitoring water temps and air temperatures)

Cons
Pairing is a pain. I couldn’t figure it out. But my installer told me you have to wait for it to update then manually input serial number and myUplink string which worked.

App says myUplink premium services are currently available for testing purposes at no charge but that this period is subject to change. I can say I would be a little miffed if I had to pay for this apps functions as the functionality is is pretty basic for 2023.

You can not set alarm metrics (except for filter cleaning reminder). my Honeywell unit that I just replaced (changed because my installer said Igate2 would control my geothermal better) had this functionality. For example low temperature alarm is set at 40 degrees. I would prefer this to be 55. If the temperature in my house hits 55 I know I have a problem. Why would I wanna wait until I get all the way down to 40°. By the time it hits 40 I may already have some frozen pipes in the external walls.

Also sometime the information in the user app is somewhat delayed by perhaps an hour or two. In particular, I would say this applies mostly to the interior temperature of the house.

Also would be nice if it provided more information about usage information. For example: usage time spent in in first and second stage, overall estimated electricity consumption, estimated water usage, etc.

I do think if climate master is considering charging for additional functionality to increase the revenue, these would be things that I think would be above and beyond the standard thermostat in 2023. I would probably be willing to pay for the additional functionality of being able to control alarm settings, and these additional usage metrics. Provided it was a one time fee and not a recurring subscription

Overall, I’m giving it five stars because currently I’m not being charged for it [other than that I paid climate master a crap ton of money for a geothermal unit and the thermostat itself :-)] and I would say that it meets standard functionality expectations in 2023 and works well with the Geothermal unit and has a usable user interface.

**Developer response:** Hi! How nice to hear that you are happy with the app. Thank you for your feedback! Best Regards/ Team myUplink

### 4/5 — Latest version improvements

*2025-11-07*

The latest version returned the ability to set thermostat temperature easily from the Home Screen instead of having it buried 5 menus down in advanced settings.

### 3/5 — Does the job…just

*2021-12-23, version 1.19*

Intuitive to use and gives easy remote control of the heating system, most of the time . There are quite a lot of
bugs, like “sticky” buttons and data on the home screen being completely out of sync with data within the specific menu items

### 2/5 — Another update that doesn’t work

*2025-11-28, version 2.3.1*

UPDATE UPDATE : needs a completely fresh installation. Delete and reinstall from fresh.

UPDATE: with the serial and connection code this still does not work

I updated assuming the new version would import details The upload forgets prior login details and requires being at site to login or have the serial number and a string .

### 2/5 — Cannot control the unit

*2023-10-11*

This version gives you some info but you cannot control the unit in any way, even basic. You have to get a paying version to be able to control your unit, but there is no link to that. The Pro version available on the App Store is for installers and dealers (as per description).
The only way to control your unit is to go to where the control unit is located in your house, which in case of the SMO S40 is a massive box that will be probably be placed in the boiler room. I cannot believe that after paying premium money for Nibe, one has no way to easily control their unit unless they pay more money. This is really 20th century thinking (at best).

**Developer response:** Hi! Sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the app. If there is something in particular you have comments on, please write to us at help@myuplink.com Sincerely/Team myUplink

### 2/5 — Very limited

*2021-09-10, version 1.16.1*

The Nibe S1155 is one of the most advanced ground source heat pumps available!!! The “MyUplink” app is disappointing in comparison. When I first installed it very little worked. After an S1155 software update more information became available. This is still very limited and difficult to use.
