### 2/5 — A most esoteric app

*2026-08-21, version 3.9.1*

As a novice user of a new ASHP, this app seems to purposely make it difficult to find out anything useful. I’m used to the, kind of, ok Hive app with my old gas boiler but this new app gives me no useful information without me reading a manual. Okay, so I can check my system pressure, but I can’t check historical temperature values. I’m not even sure that I can tell if the heat pump is actually running, when it started running and what a forecast of energy consumption might be. The ambiguous glowing display might mean that it’s running; who knows? Needs a big UI upgrade and simplification. A bit of text might help. I’m likely being over critical, but having to consider integrating it into home assistant just to find out how it’s working seems a bit much.

### 4/5 — Update

*2026-07-03, version 3.8.0*

Been using the App for a while now so very quick update. Remains very good if not the slickest UI. I have a request: The heating and hot water setting temperatures are periodically replaced by leaf icons in the app display. Presumably some sort it algorithmic pat on the back? This is incredibly annoying. I don’t want to know what a leaf looks like; I want to know the temperature settings! Please can you remove this piece of over-design. Thank you.

### 3/5 — Good when it’s working

*2026-07-01, version 3.8.0*

Good when it’s working but it keeps dropping out from the router and router is only 10 meters away

### 4/5 — Easy to use

*2026-06-07, version 3.8.0*

Great app for controlling HeatPump at home or importantly when away. Would like to see some sub pages with more data and trends like system pressure, freezing protection active etc for those of us geeks 😉

### 2/5 — Backwards moves

*2026-05-16, version 3.7.1*

I see despite the company “investigating” the below - nothing has been done to bring this option back.

I am wasting money and energy because a really useful feature was ripped out of the app for no reason whatsoever!

—-

Overall - excellent app and controls

BUT removing the option to set the heating for a set period of time under manual settings in the app is really silly (timer function)

It means I end up using more gas - wasting money and energy!

What a ridiculous thing to do.

Bring that option back!

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2026-05-11, version 3.7.1*

We have had shop, solar and batteries for 9 months. The house is just as comfortable as it was with oil heating. So far apart from 3 months over winter we break even or are in credit. After 12 months we will have a much better idea of costs.

### 2/5 — The whole Vaillant system down

*2026-04-24, version 3.7.1*

The app uses the MyVaillant part of the website to enable login. Both down this morning. 504 Timeout on the web, consequently the app can’t log in. No control over my local heating system without the app. Where’s the backup? This is not good.

### 3/5 — Könnte noch mehr Möglichkeiten bieten.

*2026-04-07*

Also zb. <5°AT, Flüsterbetrieb aus. Was ich damit sagen will. Genau so beim Heizbetrieb.

**Developer response:** Hallo E.TREMBLAY,

### 4/5 — Poor service

*2026-03-25, version 3.6.0*

My app does not give me the warning hot water legionella message. I reported this issue at the beginning of January this year. Despite reporting the issue more than once via the app nothing appears to be happening! I have via the app enquired several times as to how this issue is progressing only to be told it’s been escalated to the next level.

### 2/5 — Bug in the Absence mode screen and other problems

*2026-03-02, version 3.5.2*

When setting a date using the scrolling day and month wheels it appears the wrong way round in the confirmation screen. Also, Room Temperature Mod is not available in the app. It was this that caused our heat pump system to keep heating our house when not needed, which took months to diagnose and nearly doubled our energy usage over the winter months. Come on Vaillant, you can do better than this. If these are fixed, it would be an excellent app.

### 4/5 — Very convenient

*2026-02-23, version 3.5.2*

Great to control heating remotely. Very occasional glitches where it switches the heating on of its own accord. Overall I think our bills are lower using the app.

### 3/5 — Heating curve setting changes randomly

*2026-01-28, version 3.5.1*

The steepness of curve does not remain at the figure set. I apply and save the recommended setting but within a couple of days, or sometimes immediately, the figure drops lower. Repeat. Assistance from developers would be much appreciated. Thank you.

### 3/5 — App works, basic functions

*2026-01-02, version 3.4.0*

App v3 much cleaner. Would be nice to see boiler status codes and operation mode (operation mode shows but is truncated). Would be great if it emulated a smart meter by allowing my to input my energy provider kWh and standing charge costs, so I can accurately forecast my bill based on current and projected use, without going to utility company app.

### 3/5 — App compatibility with some Thermostat/Controllers

*2025-12-19, version 3.4.0*

Is this app actually compatible with the sensocomfort thermostat? If so, can someone at Vaillant explain why when trying to add a Sensocomfort Thermostat to the app, the app shows me a photo of a sensoroom thermostat and tells me to press the button on Gateway, but the display on the SensoComfort tells me to press the button on the Radio Receiver.? Sadly can’t give a zero star rating but I would.

### 4/5 — Continual network error

*2025-11-25, version 3.3.2*

Trying to register my system on the app. Getting network error every time I try. I would like fast support, not within 48 hours. Thanks.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Update

*2026-08-14, version 3.9.1*

Been using the app as a heating and hot water controller very successfully for quite a while now. When it’s working, it’s very good. Have just, however, had a fairly catastrophic issue in the shape of a new broadband provider and router. Resetting the system and reconnecting, I have just been advised by Vaillant tech support, is (with my set up) an engineer call out. OUCH!!!

### 1/5 — No support for Google Home?

*2026-06-26, version 3.8.0*

Very disappointed that there is no support for integration with Google Home

### 1/5 — Constant network error

*2026-06-06, version 3.8.0*

Never seems to connect always saying network error on WiFi and mobile data

### 1/5 — No innovation for gas boiler control

*2026-05-15, version 3.7.1*

App has stagnated for gas boiler users. Too much focus on its integration for heat pump users.

A disappointed gas boiler user.

### 1/5 — Will not connect

*2026-04-02, version 3.7.0*

I’ve been trying for over an hour and the app will not connect to the device. Its blue light is flashing.

### 1/5 — Not on iPad

*2026-01-17, version 3.5.1*

The App Store info states that this app “works on this iPad”. Well no it does not. Although it does download and open, it doesn’t load a keyboard so you can’t create or log in to an account. It’s unforgivable in this day and age for an app not to be iPad compatible. It’s a great app on the phone. I wanted to repurpose an older iPad as a home control centre. My solarEdge app and Eddi diverter app all work on iPad but without the ability to monitor and set the heating, it’s an incomplete experience. Disappointed with Vaillant for this.

### 1/5 — Unable to get app to pair with thermostat

*2025-12-17, version 3.4.0*

Had the smart system (thermostat , controller and app) installed yesterday onto our Caillant boiler. The gateway is connected to the internet, the app is connected to the internet, the thermostat is connected to the gateway but they won’t talk to each other. So effectively, the only thing the app can do is switch the boiler on and off. We can’t see the room temperature on the app. My husband has spent HOURS today trying different things and with the Vaillant customer service guy (who wasn’t able to help after over an hour trying to do different things). The thermostat is just not talking to the app. He has tried contacting the app department but to no avail. The email response just repeated what he had already tried (in fact less) than he had already tried with the customer service agent.
We now have less functionality than we had with our old Honeywell system. Not very happy as it is not a cheap system.

### 1/5 — Pile of ****

*2025-11-17, version 3.3.2*

The app, quite unhelpfully, just asks you to scan your gateway QR code to connect. With no guidance on what they’ve decided a “Gateway” is. I have boxes with items in called “Hub”, “Receiver” and “Thermostat” not to mention the variety of QR codes across these items, on the boiler itself and the instruction manuals. When asked for help on locating the QR code, the app recommends looking on the back of said “Gateway”. It then recommends putting in the serial number, the location of which I’m told is handily on this yet to be identified Gateway. After trying a few of the various codes from various items, I googled the structure of the code and eventually found it under the Boiler. Finally satisfied I may have come to the end of this debacle, I typed in this 24 digit code only to have the app tell me there is a network error and to try again later.

### 1/5 — Can’t register or log in

*2025-10-17, version 3.3.1*

Downloaded this to help with using a valiant controller at a new house.
Created an account and password but it will not let me log in
It just says invalid username or password over and over again despite several resets of passwords.
Very p***ed off at the moment

### 1/5 — Change for change’s sake

*2025-09-17, version 3.3.0*

Tje new interface looks nice but there is a loss of functionality and the information shown is now more general.

The weather or temperature information is now displayed.

Rubbish!

### 5/5 — ASHP

*2026-07-12, version 3.9.0*

Absolutely love
My Vaillant ASHP and the associated app.

### 5/5 — Really good

*2026-07-07, version 3.8.0*

Works a treat

### 5/5 — Mrs

*2026-06-25, version 3.8.0*

I absolutely would recommend having one.
It takes a few weeks to get use to, but so worth it.
My bills are low now.
Great with solar panels even cheaper, which is a massive bonus.

### 5/5 — Vaillant

*2026-06-13, version 3.8.0*

Get system and good app.

### 5/5 — Ability to save Weekly Planner

*2026-04-25, version 3.7.1*

Fabulous app, and whole system. To make it even better I would like to be able to save my Weekly Planner settings (preferably multiple versions) so that I can seamlessly switch between profiles I create.

### 5/5 — Heat pump Control

*2026-03-23, version 3.6.0*

Just had Heat Pump fitted find the data provided by this app is very comprehensive and shows real time power consumption and output levels very impressed so far

### 5/5 — Good app but where is boost now?

*2026-02-19, version 3.5.2*

It’s a very good app, and good to get the data out of it too so I can see trends, but why has the hot water boost function disappeared? I hope it’s due back in a new app version

### 5/5 — Excellent so far

*2025-12-07, version 3.4.0*

Been using the App for a while now so very quick update. Remains excellent if not the slickest UI, thank you. I have another hopefully quick win for you: when adjusting start time on a weekly programme slot, it assumes you want the programme duration unaltered and auto changes the end time by the same amount. How unbelievably annoying is that? Could you make it not do that - thanks.
Can I suggest one hopefully easy win improvement if any developers should happen to read? The heating UI (S/C as well as app) could do with a one-touch up-down function. My partner finds having to define the period after selecting the temperature a bit geeky / intimidating. The manually adjusted temperature should just remain until the next planned timed change.

### 5/5 — Great App but….

*2025-11-01, version 3.3.2*

So far app seems to work great. But would it be possible to add a section where we can insert what we pay per kWh for our electricity and hence show what it is costing per day/week/month/lifetime

### 5/5 — App over portable device

*2025-10-24, version 3.3.1*

The portable dedicated controller user interface is quite weak because of the low resolution of the type of the display, structure of feature options and the option scroller. The mobile application is very easy to use and attractively designed. The dedicated controller is best left alone in a place where it can best capture and relay indoor temp to the system, if it is the only indoor temp sensing device.
