### 2/5 — Can’t even check in a nice fish

*2026-07-17, version 1.1.0*

So I’m just in the san Juan’s minding my business fishing when bam I get a nice king salmon. So I go to put my harvest in and I press on the catch card and nothing so I’m really confused. I look up how to do it and it says to login to the WILD website and I go to do that and it just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning and spinning and will not let me login. Mind you that I paid $105 for this thing and I can’t even use it worse app ever fix this immediately or I will be not very happy.

### 3/5 — Could be better

*2026-07-07, version 1.1.0*

There’s only an option for logging Dungeness crab, not any other species… I guess they forgot about Rocks and Tanners

### 1/5 — Unable to log catches

*2026-05-27, version 1.1.0*

I’m logged in but each time I go to log an entry it only shows my digital licenses. There is no option to log the actual entries or harvests

### 1/5 — Junk

*2026-05-21, version 1.1.0*

Won’t log in consistently
On my IPhone. It’s a piece of junk app. I can’t wait to try and record a salmon on the catch card.

### 1/5 — Be very careful setting up your account

*2026-05-21, version 1.1.0*

If you don’t make your account first try, you might lock yourself into a loop of needing a username and password to make an account even if you don’t have either. This makes it very important not to leave halfway through making your account. Genuinely the dumbest federal app I have ever used.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-05-08, version 1.1.0*

Will not login with either iOS or Android. Laptop works fine but cannot bring that in boat/woods with me. If they do not fix this ASAP, the wardens are going to have serious problems. Especially when the halt paper tags without fixing this!!

### 1/5 — Horrific

*2026-05-06, version 1.1.0*

I worked for WDFW for 30 years so I am admittedly biased in their favor. However; this app is beyond bad and the employees that put this product out should all be fired for incompetence. It’s no wonder the general public hates WDFW and have for decades. Unfortunately in my experience over 30 years nothing will change or improve because they’re all government employees who almost can’t be fired. These people who put out this “quality” of product can only work in government jobs because in the private sector they wouldn’t last a year. Sad but true.

### 1/5 — Not ready for release

*2026-05-04, version 1.1.0*

My account and login worked great. Setting up my wife’s had been a login-loop nightmare. Same as a friend warned me. This was not ready for release!!!

### 1/5 — Won’t let you log in

*2026-05-02, version 1.1.0*

Have tried multiple times to log in over the last 2 years and all it says is unknown error occurred.

### 1/5 — Need to improve a lot

*2026-04-29, version 1.1.0*

For verification code,
-Text; I never receive a code.
- Email; I receive a code, but it doesn’t work when I log in.

### 1/5 — First vers1.0 vs ver 1.1

*2026-04-25, version 1.1.0*

First version would not let me log in after verification & 2 factor authentication.
That was fixed with ver 1.1 two weeks ago.

4/24/26 start my day by making sure it logs in and when I’m in the field, it finds connect is bad - it went auto field mode and allowed punch card entry,
Now it won’t let me login again or sync

### 1/5 — Can’t get past login

*2026-04-21, version 1.1.0*

App won’t let you get past the login screen. Reset password multiple times (which it allows you to do) and still get an username or password error. Waste of time so far.

### 1/5 — Can’t login at all

*2026-04-20, version 1.1.0*

Just can’t login, how much do they pay for the app development

### 1/5 — Non usable

*2026-04-19, version 1.1.0*

I logged in only to attempt to report my catch electronically. I may as well be trying to get a passport, top secret clearance, and dual citizenship.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-04-19, version 1.1.0*

See title

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horribly Concieved and executed.

*2026-07-12, version 1.1.0*

To use a game tag on the new MyWDFW app, you still need to create some kind of physical record to attach to the animal. And, if your battery dies, you can be ticketed. What a mess.

Want to take your kid or older parent fishing? Everyone needs a phone, and/or you have to log in and out of profiles.

Finally, by making durable in-store tags illegal, we completely removed a vital connection to the retail establishments that help us all get out on the water.

Poorly conceived and executed.

### 1/5 — App hung

*2026-07-12, version 1.1.0*

I was out fishing out of sale coverage and it worked a couple times to record my sockeye at Baker Lake, and then it went to a semi Blank screen where there is a title bar at the top and nothing in the main body. I tried killing the app and restarting it, and it gave me the same screen again. Repeated and got the same result.
I’m really happy that I can use an app to record my catch and not piss around with a pen but the off-line option has to be fixed
The only fix was to uninstall and reinstall the app when I was online

### 1/5 — Login Bug

*2026-07-02, version 1.1.0*

My credentials were valid and login was successful, but when validating the MFA code it repeatedly logged me out until it locked my account for fraudulent activity. Can’t believe it’s 2026 and I still need to buy my fishing license at the store ;)

### 1/5 — Absolute Incompetence

*2026-06-20, version 1.1.0*

I really hope you didn't pay someone to make this app, because that would have been an absolute waste of my taxpayer dollars. This app sends the user on an endless login loop, triggering 2FA, then sending the user back to the login page, claiming incorrect password, which is clearly false since 2FA was triggered. If you can't even log into the app, it's basically like you don't have an app, it's worthless garbage taking up storage space. And then same problem happens when trying to log into the website. I've now tried to help two different users log in and had the same issue. Seriously, you could hire a 25-yr-old vibecoder with a couple of AI agents to build you a better system overnight. Of you want people to buy fishing licenses, fix this! Because at this point, I'm going fishing with or without the license, and if a game warden stops me, I'm going to hand them my phone and just say, "Here, if you can do it, I'll pay the fine and the license fee."

### 1/5 — Not ready

*2026-06-19, version 1.1.0*

Bought my license through the mobile app, was somehow defaulted or still in “paper license mode”. Called WDFW they were unable to switch me to mobile license holder, they told me I needed to go to a dealer to print the paper license, dealer gave me the run around and charged me $20 to print a “duplicate” license, which is just on standard 8x11 paper… felt like I tried to do the right thing and buy though the app and totally got the run around.

### 1/5 — Absolute garbage

*2026-06-18, version 1.1.0*

Once again the state has managed to fail. This thing does not work. It will lock you out of your account and the ensuing phone call mess is a nightmare. Don’t install this on your phone.

### 1/5 — Shame on the app

*2026-06-11, version 1.1.0*

Full of bugs. Even the log in process is buggy.

### 1/5 — App sucks

*2026-06-06, version 1.1.0*

Says see more details for a license and then gives you no details. Typical Washington state. Can’t do anything correct.

### 1/5 — Completely useless

*2026-06-06, version 1.1.0*

I am glad Washington State is rushing into selling only online licenses when they have an online process that doesn’t work. I go to the online website to locate my account. It says that my account doesn’t exist. So I go into buy a new license entering the same information. It says I already have an existing account and refers me back to locate my account. I downloaded this app with the same issue.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-05-28, version 1.1.0*

I signed in 40 times and it won’t work, all around trash

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2026-07-03, version 1.1.0*

Glad to have a mobile app option!

### 5/5 — Works Great

*2026-04-29, version 1.1.0*

Much better than printing paper licenses. Quick and easy!

### 5/5 — Yay! Mobile License!

*2026-04-18, version 1.1.0*

It’s so great to have an app that supports a mobile license. It’s not perfect, but it gets the job done and it’s pretty straightforward. Thanks WA!

### 5/5 — Works as advertised

*2026-04-13, version 1.1.0*

Easy to log on and I see all my tags. It took a minute to figure out how to buy catch cards online, I had to sort “fishing” before they showed up.

### 5/5 — Try this if it doesn’t work

*2026-04-08, version 1.0.0*

Login to the website first and click on mobile license option provided then come back in sign in to the app. Works just like the website but a bit slow.

### 5/5 — It works

*2026-03-30*

Not sure why other folks are having problems. It works I see my permit and all the other endorsements. I was able to log on without any issues.

### 5/5 — Finally!!!

*2025-12-05*

I had no problems loading or logging into the app. I used my existing account credentials and it loaded this year’s licenses and endorsements. It allowed me to purchase all my licenses for next season so I’m ready to go. I am glad Washington state finally caught up to other states using the same type of license applications. This makes life so much easier. Whoohooo!!!

### 4/5 — Easy to use…once you can get in

*2026-05-19, version 1.1.0*

I can validate all of the complaints here that it’s a little annoying to get an account set up/logged into for the first time. You have to make sure your WILD account is set up and verified via the standard web browser first. This is the same system you’d log into to order a license or report crab catch online, so it’s not new. But they seem to want you to log into there and verify your information is correct. Once you do that, it wasn’t hard to get into the app. Honestly, it’s no harder than any of the millions other account log ins we all have to deal with nowadays—banking, cell phone, email, etc. I found the app itself very easy to use, and this will be easier than carrying that huge crumple of plastic paper licenses and catch cards in my wallet. So no more George Costanza wallet.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2026-05-13, version 1.1.0*

Logging in was a bit of a hassle between trying to log in to the app only to have to validate on the website first. Having that information beforehand would have been nice, but otherwise happy that it’s electronic now instead of keeping track of which license is where.

### 4/5 — Be sure to validate account before using

*2026-01-01*

App is fine but you need to do a 3 step validation process on the website before logging in. The onboarding process doesn’t make this clear at all. Once you’ve logged in on the website and done the verification of your contact info etc. it lets you log into the app.
