## What is MyWell?

MyWell is developed by Alan Siu Lung Ng and Basant Maheshwari at Western Sydney University, as part of the MARVI research initiative.

MyWell helps communities and field teams monitor and sustain their local water resources — groundwater, rivers, rainfall and water quality — turning everyday field observations into clear, shareable data for better decisions about a shared resource.

Built for MARVI (Managing Aquifer Recharge and Sustaining Groundwater Use through Village-level Intervention), a participatory water-sustainability research initiative, MyWell puts scientific monitoring in the hands of the people who depend on the water.

Record a monitoring station once, then log readings over time — water levels, flows, rainfall, water quality and field notes — straight from your phone. Tag each station with its exact location, attach a photo, and see everything on a map.

KEY FEATURES

• Monitoring stations — register wells, rivers, rain gauges and other water points with their location and details, organised by area.
• Field readings — record water-level, flow, rainfall and water-quality measurements with the date, time and units that matter for your work.
• Map view — see all stations on an interactive map, group them into monitoring areas, and use your location to find nearby sites.
• Photos — attach photos to document sites and field conditions.
• Analytics — view trends and charts to understand how your water resources are changing over time.
• Teams & organisations — collaborate with your group; administrators manage members and shared stations.
• Works across devices — the same account works on the web and on your phone.
• Multi-language interface.

WHO IT'S FOR

Villagers, Bhujal Jaankaars (BJs), field workers, researchers, and organisations involved in participatory water monitoring and sustainability.

ACCOUNT REQUIRED

MyWell requires a free account so your data is saved securely and synced across your devices. You control what you record and can request deletion of your account and data at any time, in-app (Settings → Delete account) or by contacting support.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.13 — 2026-08-24

What's new in 1.13:
- Links to app.mywell.au now open straight in the app
- An in-app assistant that understands the screen you're on
- Smoother typing: the keyboard no longer pushes the header off-screen
- Clearer sign-up, with username suggestions as you type
- The weather panel now retries properly when a forecast fails

### 1.12 — 2026-08-18

NEW: MyWell Assistant — an AI helper for your wells and readings.
• Ask about your stations, water levels and water quality.
• It understands the page you are viewing and can explain charts and readings simply
• Opens from the new AI button in the centre of the bottom bar
• The assistant is in a testing stage: answers can be wrong, and each account has a limited number of questions for now

### 1.11 — 2026-08-06

Offline recording, fixed. Readings you save without a signal now upload reliably as soon as you are back online, and a badge on the Measurement tab shows how many are still waiting to send.

Much faster. My measurements, the home dashboard and the station list now load in a fraction of a second, even on large datasets.

Right-to-left layout for Urdu, Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Pashto — the whole screen now mirrors, not just the text.

Accessibility: form errors are now announced by screen readers, so it is clear why a form will not save.

Also fixed: station counts now agree across the organisation screens, and settings no longer overwrite each other when saved from two devices at once.

### 1.0 — 2026-07-30
