It was the wrong decision, I should have found another app that did not constantly barrage you with ads. I expect them in a free version of anything, and it's the consequence of the developer needing to make some money, but it is absolutely wrong in a paid version. My advice, look somewhere else until the ads stop. Update. Somehow even though the limitation on projects was lifted, it appears the app had not updated correctly. Since my review, the ads have now gone. Result first class app worth 4stars ### 2/5 — Great except for ads *2015-02-18, version 1.5.19* I tried out the free version and liked it enough to upgrade. The layout is simple and user friendly, and you can track multiple tasks under one project. You can adjust times if needed, and export via email to create your own invoice. I have two complaints, though. The first is that I cannot delete completed projects or past clients. The total time reported for my work includes all the time I have spent on that project, even if I have already billed for it. My other complaint is the advertising. I expected it in the free version, but it is still present in the paid upgrade, and really detracts from the overall experience. ### 2/5 — Good app, annoying AD *2014-11-17, version 1.5.19* All is great, except the AD, the paid version still has the AD floating everywhere, what annoying thing. Remove that In the paid version and I will give you 5 stars ### 2/5 — Too Complicated *2013-06-06, version 1.5.9* This app took too much time to get to know. I didn't see any tutorials and it's supposed to help me keep time on projects. I used more time trying to figure this app out. Not worth it. ### 3/5 — Worth trying and watching *2013-03-16* App looks good and has some great features. I tried free version in preference to paid version after reading reviews. Problems 1. Editing notes in landscape on iPad, and you can't see top line. 2. Screen real-estate is used well by the three chooser windows and the three selected windows, but if the info in those windows is wrong, they are a waste. ie the green traffic light doesn't seem to turn on and off properly, the time and money don't update Improvements It would be nice to see a quick screen where you can see all timers that are running. For billing, what is exported and how it is laid out and how you get that into an invoice seems most important to me, but sadly you can't get an idea of what this is like without paying Recommendation Keep you eye on this one, it may improve... ### 2/5 — Use to be great but now worthless *2013-01-03, version 1.5.2* This use to be a great app that I could easily log all of my work hours and make a not of what and when I got paid but now I can't view my notes or edit and change a mess up on my log sheet but can't do any of that ow. I would like just to have the possibility to set the App. to stop an activity when I start a new one. The area that it lacks for us contractors is being able to see the culmination of hours by different periods. For example, I can not, at least I can't find a way, of looking at how many total hours I have done in a day. I have to manually calculate this to get the correct amount. I work on more than one contract at a time and this makes a lot more work for me. Otherwise it does a pretty good job. I will most likely be looking for something different as this is costing me a lot of time. ### 4/5 — Good App but more customisation would be great... *2012-08-07* App works well and does everything I want it to. Has only crashed once in my 2 months or so of use. I use it every day to keep weekly time sheets for work then export at the end of the week. What would be good to see is the ability to set options to only display clients/jobs/tasks that have been active in the last week/fortnight (or other timeframe). This way you wouldn't have to trawl down an extensive library of tasks to find the one you're looking for. Alternatively allow the user to create custom folders to put ongoing tasks like business admin (or similar) in a separate folder for easy quick access. And finally, one issue I have (may be a bug) is I think when you go to export as csv file the default date for the timeframe should be the current date. At the moment when I use this feature the default is a date in June (perhaps when I downloaded the app, not 100% sure). This isn't a major issue however I can see myself getting frustrated as time progresses because I will have to scroll further back each week when I do my export. Great app though, just a few things to make it even better. Thanks ### 2/5 — Interface *2012-07-19* Didn't like the interface. Sometime you get lost. Manual entry needs work too. Structure is good ### 2/5 — Not too sure about this one *2012-07-10, version 1.5.1* It tends to crash after editing or deleting tasks it's not very solid and can be a bit tricky to use, does the job but has lots of bugs that need to be worked out. I even upgraded to the full version and I'm not impressed. ### 4/5 — Solid start *2012-07-04* It does the basics that I'm looking for. Daily totals of time spent would be nice. Maybe reports too? ### 4/5 — Nice app *2012-05-28* I Like this app, have been using it for a couple of weeks now. It is so easy to use, my only gripe is that there is no function to tick off when time has been paid for, if say for example the work is over a few weeks and you invoice per week. That would have made it 5 stars. ### 2/5 — Hard *2012-05-24, version 1.5.1* This is very hard to use. If you accidentally make a task in the wrong project and have the timer going, there is no way to move it. It's just a very hard to use application. Oh, and if you upgrade via in app, don't expect it to just upgrade to the full version. I bought this twice unintentionally. I tried to like it and use it but forget about it. ### 3/5 — Like the colours and style *2012-05-17* I really like the look of the app; the colours and style are really great, along with the functionality I was happy to pay for the upgrade and I thought the price was more than reasonable. Although I'm still finding my way with it, the main things that stand out as potentially requiring improvements are; 1) The menu bar on the left hand side could be in order of importance starting with client; add projects to the list; tasks; running task; calendar; utilities 2) Adding a projects bar onto the menu bar would be advantageous 3) Not sure if the default option in the menu needs to be there after upgrading!?! Not sure if it serves a purpose! 4) There are lots of pencil icons, waste bins and new entry icons which was confusing as a new user, perhaps this could be streamlines a little 5) it would be handy to be able to switch tasks to different projects or companies.... I made a couple of entries in the wrong spots so had to delete and re-enter which was a little frustrating Overall I like the concept and flow of the application, hence the reason why I chose this over many others, I'm happy to continue using the app and look forward to improvements as they happen. 🌀 N ### 3/5 — Ok but lacks key feature *2012-05-03, version 1.5.1* When tracking time, folks want to know the hours per week or per month. There is plenty of space on the calendar week and month views for this data so why not add it? ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Was good, now dysfunctional *2020-07-02* I’ve been using this app for some years and it has been reliable, simple and perfect for my needs. The recent update has some fatal issues: It crashes when you open the calendar. The calendar is the only way to identify what jobs you’ve done in a day (for invoicing) if you have a lot of clients, projects & tasks. Fields are black (not readable) when iPad or iPhone is in dark mode. OK, you can change to light mode, but this wasn’t an issue before. When trying to give feedback to the developer via the app, the emails bounce back. The support web link in the app goes to a site where you can’t log a support request. So, all dead-ends. So I’m resorting to use a Review to lodge a support request & give feedback. Someone’s dropped the ball... ### 1/5 — Help *2016-02-08* The app is great until this few day. Each time when I want to export the data, it crashed and out of the app. I purchased the app in lite, but after purchased, it still look like the blue lite one and my mates with the green one are all right. Please let me know how to upgrade to full version. Can I have the refund? I only purchased it for a month. ### 1/5 — Ads in a paid version *2016-01-06* While I have used this quite a bit for tracking multiple clients and projects and I paid for the full version, now all of a sudden ads are showing up in their tiny little panels for clients, projects and tasks. I find it distracting and the application also seems to be running slower. The GUI is not reacting to my touches so there is a lot of waiting. If the ads stay, I'll find another application to put my money on. ### 1/5 — Worst application ever *2012-11-06, version 1.5.1* Fix it! ### 1/5 — Stay away from the lite *2012-11-03, version 1.5.1* This app has great potential - some of the features are really compelling. However, the lite version is useless as a test case because you can only enter one project. If you use the in-app upgrade feature, you can enter multiple project, but you will not get the functionality of the full (non-lite) version of the tool. And if you do download the full version, the data you just entered into the lite version can't be ported in!! If you're going to try this (and again, I think it has great potential), skip the lite version and go right to the paid version. But be warned, the developer's site says "we don't make much money from this app, so we can't devote much support time to it." You're probably better off waiting until they decide to get serious. ### 1/5 — Ridiculous *2012-07-23, version 1.5.1* This app does nothing. It was stuck on the configuration screen and would not let you move forward without upgrading. I use the app to track my hours playing piano it really works great. ### 5/5 — Excellent tool *2013-02-07* Love this. Helps build confidence and trust with clients, especially in time plus materials projects. Pull the time click out of your pocket to lig in and out, share details with the customer. Really easy to keep up ti date with small notes. That sure has helped me to confidently bull my clients without having to rely on memory. The summaries save a lot of recapping info at billing time. I just print out a spreadsheet of the log to attach to my invoice.
