### 2/5 — Great but unusable

*2024-02-06, version 3.0.2*

I wanted to use this to track my sons headaches which are frequent.

Looks like great ideas

Entering one headache requires going through a gazillion screens. I will never use it deleted.

### 2/5 — Flawed with Potential

*2023-12-09*

Give users the benefit of the doubt that they are capable of remembering past a few days ago when their headaches happened, or perhaps may be tracking them on paper and later putting them in the app for documentation/mapping.

Also, do away with the stupid limitations on putting in custom factors every 90 days. I tried to put one in and ran out of time, tried to go back later to finish, and it had locked me out for another 90 days. So stupid. So annoying. Why are you ruining what could potentially be a good app with arbitrary and artificial imposed restrictions on your users?

### 3/5 — lacking in menstruation trigger

*2023-11-26, version 3.0.2*

how come i cant record which day of the month im on? for such a commin migraine trigger for women to be underepresented i am disappointed.

### 4/5 — One of the best but could have some user friendliness

*2023-06-15*

This is by far the best app I’ve used to track my headaches. Other app are super confusing to work with and this one seems promising for helping me understand my triggers by data mining. I have seen some minor bugs like it fails to load some of the menu pages (like “individual maps” for example). If this was happening to the daily diary this might be way to frustrating. I have to keep refreshing it to get it to load properly. In addition, the sleep and time outdoors hour logging is confusing such that it’s asking for the hours but then wants you to set it to AM or PM. I also don’t like that you can’t set it to 0 hours. When if I was indoor all day? Lastly, and the biggest one, this app has unnecessary multiple screens for the daily diary. I think it would be more user friendly if all the daily diary stuff was on one page and you just clicked each to set it. It might also be great to have default preferences to eliminate clicking everything every day. You know, for example, I rarely drink. It’s possible, but rarely. If I could set that to default no that would be convenient. The process of logging a day can be tedious and I often go back to other days I forgot. This one screen option would make it so much easier. Again, this app is great! These are just my minor frustrations. Thanks!

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2022-12-11*

This app has many great qualities not found another apps and works like a detective in the background figuring out what your triggers are. Unfortunately it has a huge flaw: it won’t let you enter any information about what you ate did or other potential triggers for more than two days in the past.
When you have migraines, sometimes you aren’t well enough to fill out a migraine diary for a couple of days. When this happens, I take pictures of my meals and little notes so that I can continue to analyze and discover triggers. Frustratingly, the app will not let me enter this information, which leads to holes in the data. The developers assume that no one can remember anything accurately past two days. This is simply not true, and should be a feature that those who use other methods of record keeping can turn off.

### 4/5 — Limitations

*2021-11-03*

I really like how this app is set up especially compared to the others I’ve tried plus it actually makes me want to record every day but there are some things that I think should be expanded.
1. More specificity on location of headache/migraine -possibly with a map of the head where regions can be selected.
2. Add more options for specific auras such as paresthesia, aphasia, craving chocolate, spots in vision, etc.
3. Allow for more customization within the custom items outside of just the name of the item and a yes or no.
4. An option to add notes for each day as an attack/headache isn’t going to stay the same all day.

### 2/5 — Was really hoping for a migraine tracking solution

*2021-09-13, version 2.3.2*

Seemed amazingly comprehensive at first. Missing a preventative treatment I use, a relatively new CGRP inhibitor, and when I tried to submit a ticket for help, the webpage stated I was ineligible ? Very disappointed :(

### 3/5 — Better than migraine buddy, wish I could add data 3+days ago, decent privacy, not sexist

*2021-06-20*

I wish I could add data that’s more than a few days old. Some people, like me, log their migraine info on a notepad and then enter their own data into a tracker app that they recorded at the time of the migraine (not great to stare at a phone screen during a migraine, I’d rather use a notepad). I date these notes and lead a busy life. I can’t always get around to logging my data in a few days. Also I don’t understand why we can’t change custom factors as often as we want to. I feel kind of like the app doesn’t trust me to provide accurate info about my own body. Other than that the privacy is pretty good, and at least you don’t charge your users for menstrual tracking but not for other features like sexist migraine buddy app does.

### 2/5 — Okay

*2021-04-15, version 2.3.1*

Mediocre app, doesn’t let you compare all data from headaches. Have to pay $50 in order for it to provide you insights on what headaches could be from.

### 2/5 — No longer works with latest iOS update

*2020-09-21*

Startup screen pops up for a few seconds, and then the app just bails. I’ve tried completely closing the app as well as rebooting my iPhone.

Their help desk software makes you think you can report a bug. Strings you along while you fill it all out and then...BAM tells you you aren’t authorized. Maybe requires a login? Whatever.

**Developer response:** Hi Rosebud 5000, please send an email to our support team at support@n1-headache.com so we can better understand your issue.

### 2/5 — Okay but needs work

*2020-07-27, version 2.2*

The only thing I don’t like is the inability to go back and record a headache. There’s not a question for how long the headache last and if you record while you have a headache then you can’t accurately rate some specifics. It all ties together.

### 2/5 — Deceiving

*2020-02-07, version 2.1.17*

I got through the 90 days of tracking headaches only to find out that you can’t see any analysis of the data unless you get a premium account for $50. Useless.

### 1/5 — A long long way to go

*2019-07-31*

My mom told me to always start with something positive: I can track migraine triggers and that only takes me a few minutes each night. It’s a checklist and when you’re finished you created an entry.
So I did that for a while and all I saw was that I moving very slowly towards completing the trigger map. It’s super intransparent how many entries you need to complete the maps and the app does a lousy job keeping me motivated. I even upgraded to the premium version which cost me a hefty 50$ or so. Still, all I saw was insufficient entries. Yes, the app offers reports, but they didn’t reveal anything I didn’t know before. Like migraines are related to my cycle. Duh! Also, they say that you can add custom factors every 90 days and when the app prompted me to do so, it showed an error. Customer support said it was a bug. I would have liked to add “time on screen” to it, but it wouldn’t let me. So I am 84% done (whatever that means) and I have entered too many data points to leave the app.

**Developer response:** Hi SaraWesterm, thanks for the feedback that you gave. We are sorry that our app did not meet all of your expectations. Thank you contacting customer support and bringing this matter to our attention. As per the email response you were sent, "To ensure the correct analysis of your data we currently do not allow modifying your custom factors until the beginning of each 90-day period. There's an error in the app, which incorrectly states that you can edit your custom factors. If you open the Custom Factors screen in the Profile and Settings menu you will see the correct information." We are working to correct the custom factors issue and we apologize for the inconvienience.

### 1/5 — Won’t open reports

*2019-05-08*

I have been using the app religiously for three months. I was told that after 90 days, my individual maps would be available so I could see my triggers. Every time I try to open the maps, which are said to be available, the app shuts off. What is the point of imputing daily information if I can’t get to the maps, which are supposed to be the helpful part of the app??

**Developer response:** Hi Torvanaro, sorry to hear that you are not having a positive experience. Please contact us directly at support@n1-headache.com or use the link "Contact N1-Headache" in the app and we will analyze and fix the problem asap. We hope you will benefit from your tracking effort and your migraine days decrease.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Awful Interface

*2026-02-10*

Downloaded this to track my migraines/headaches, per my doctor’s instructions. Not only does the application not allow for other prescriptions to have the dosage adjusted, the response to typing is beyond aggravating. I can type a word and it will take an additional 15 seconds to think about adding the letters. When someone is to the point of needing to track their headaches and migraines, they are likely very short on patience. Just awful. Immediately deleted my account.

### 1/5 — Disappointing Update

*2022-12-22*

v3.0.1 not ready for use. Slow to load, very slow response to questions, glitchy, doesn’t pull in weather data, cannot complete logging factors. Rely on this app to determine if meds are effective. Have used for years and this is the first update with major issues.

**Developer response:** Thanks for reporting this issue. Unfortunately, a small number of users had problems when upgrading the app. To fix the issue, please delete and re-install the app, the data will be synced back. Our team is working to identify and fix the issue as soon as possible so that the upgrade process does not leave the app hanging.

### 1/5 — Needs to be updated

*2022-11-14, version 2.4*

A waste of money. They don’t have the newest meds on there making it a waste of time also.

### 1/5 — What a crock

*2022-08-19, version 2.4*

Put in my headache journal for 90 days expecting to get some sort of trigger identifications for my migraines. Finally submitted the 90 days and gives me no feedback without buying the service for 49.99$. Wish it had said from the beginning it would charge this and I wouldn’t have wasted my time.

### 1/5 — Outdated and Not Useful

*2021-12-05*

I started my setup and only got as far as entering my meds and Nurtec and Aimovig weren’t in the database. Anyone who watches commercials has heard of these, yet the creators of ann app, supposedly with professional backing and input, in a couple years time can’t manage to get their database updated to include these two medications? I didn’t even get to Botox yet. I wonder if that’s left out too? I’ll never know. I deleted it and am going on to another app.

### 1/5 — Tricks you to upgrade $$

*2021-03-13, version 2.3*

I used it for 90 days and when it finally calculated my migraine triggers, I couldn’t see any results unless I upgraded to premium. So I answered 50 questions a day for 3 months for nothing!

### 1/5 — Waste of time

*2021-03-04, version 2.2.2*

Very deceiving app. Buyers beware. I spent every night for 90 days entering data with the promise that after doing this my migraine triggers would be revealed, only to find at the end of 90 days that I would have to pay $50 to upgrade just to find out one trigger. All other data was deemed inconclusive. A total waste of time.

### 1/5 — Bait and switch

*2020-11-15*

I used the app for four months, entering data 3 days out of 4 until FINALLY I hit the minimum 90 days to get their analysis... only to find out that the trigger map is locked behind their $50 premium pay wall. At no point did I ever see that the ONLY REASON I was using the app almost every day was locked behind a paywall. Overall it’s a decent app but no way would I have burned 15 minutes a day on this for $50.

**Developer response:** Hi Phlucious, we are sorry to hear that you are not having a positive experience. Please email us at support@n1-headache.com so we can help resolve your issue.

### 1/5 — Unreliable, does not tally information

*2020-06-29*

Use this app if you want completely invalid statistics. On numerous days with headaches recorded, the days are not indicated on the calendar or the personal report. Tapping on the day shows the info but it is not included in the totals. All the statistics are therefore wrong, and wrong by a lot. This behavior is absolutely inexcusable in what purports to be medical app.

Note to developers: happy to provide details, but will never trust your app again.

**Developer response:** Hi 86thisapp, we are sorry to hear that you are not having a positive experience. We would like to take your feedback into consideration as we're constantly striving to improve our app. Please contact us directly at support@n1-headache.com with any details you would be willing to share.

### 1/5 — Password for this?

*2019-08-05, version 2.1.14*

I stopped installing. Why would you require entering a password for this? Waste of time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Muy útil

*2021-03-29, version 2.3.1*

Fácil de usar y tremendamente útil. La voy a recomendar.

### 5/5 — Build awareness of the causes of your headaches

*2019-12-03, version 2.1.15*

This app is educates me on my headache causes and triggers and how I can help avoid headaches, it tracks daily data better than the standard pencil and paper form, compiles the data to give reports and builds research data. There’s lots of useful info about headaches. What’s not to like?

### 5/5 — I want....

*2019-10-31*

To edit names of medicine if I screw up and an option to put them in right category if I screw up. Please add symptoms for sinus and cold related headaches. You should also add a section for people who don’t do housework because of a disability or medical illness or other reasons.

**Developer response:** Hi dreechar, thank you for the 5-star rating and for all the feedback you gave. We will take it into consideration as we are constantly striving to improve our app.

### 5/5 — Best migraine tracker! 🙌👏💯

*2019-08-06*

This is the most specific and evidence based migraine tracker I have found yet very user friendly. It is also flexible enough to enter and track when you take your preventive and acute meds so you can tell your Doc what works for you.

**Developer response:** Hi Lizsbeth, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us this kind review. We have worked hard to make the app user friendly. We are very glad that you can use N1-Headache to collborate with you doctor as well! You might also find the personal analyical report to be helpful as it summarizes the the progression of your migraine disease since your first day of tracking. Thank you again for sharing your positive experince with us!

### 5/5 — Great, just one little problem

*2019-02-24*

I’ve been using the app for years. I really like it. The only problem I’m having lately is the daily reminder will randomly stop working. It’s happened to me multiple times. I really need the reminder, otherwise I forget and by the time I notice I’m 3-5 days with a record.

**Developer response:** Hi WazeQwerty, we are glad to hear that you like using the app. Regarding the daily reminder problem, please contact us directly at support@curelator.com or use the link "Contact N1-Headache" in the app. We will analyze and fix the problem asap. Thank you so much for your review.

### 5/5 — Best app so far for Migraine tracking

*2019-02-07*

I’ve always failed at tracking my migraines until I started using this app. The reminders keep me consistent with tracking. Once you've tracked 90 days it allows you to make custom factors unique to you. Easy and fast tracking and the reports are super easy to read and my neuro loves the data it displayed including the number of migraine days vs episodes and medication tracking.

**Developer response:** Hi Michele, we are happy to hear that our app helps you and your physician to better track and understand your migraines. Thank you for your review. Keep tracking and we hope your migraine-free days increase.

### 5/5 — Fabulous

*2018-11-04*

Very useful to find triggers

**Developer response:** Hi Chazza, we are glad to hear that you've found your triggers and we hope it helps to manage better your migraines. Thanks for your feedback. Keep tracking to also find your protectors.

### 5/5 — Onerous

*2018-10-05*

Very long winded and not sure it’s going to get to the nub of my issues

### 5/5 — Terrific app!

*2018-04-26*

This app has been helpful when dealing with the serious evolution of my migraines; it’s versatile letting you add personal key symptoms ,medication and supplements, and other details relevant to your migraines and treatment plan. Highly recommend it to anyone who suffers from serious complex migraine w aura like me . Thanks Curelator😃
