### 3/5 — Needs a dark mode!!!

*2026-06-25, version 5.0.13*

When it comes to looking up TAFs for remote airports and mine sites in AUS, there’s only one app and it works great most of the time.

BUT myself and my other night bandits can agree that we need a dark mode for looking at TAFs whilst flying back of the clock.

### 4/5 — Pinch to Zoom?

*2025-01-18, version 5.0.12*

Great App. Use it all the time but how about adding Pinch to Zoom for those of us whose eyes aren’t getting any younger.

### 3/5 — Some basic improvements would help

*2024-12-04, version 5.0.11*

Bug? I noticed that when I submit a flight notification on the web version using Northing/Eastings for waypoints which include 0’s - when I open in the App version for an amendment the 0’s have been removed from my entries so I get an error message? Also, if I have ‘saved’ a draft Flight Notification on the web version, I can’t access/retrieve the saved file on the App?

### 3/5 — Was great at release

*2024-11-27, version 5.0.11*

A great simple app, however some additional features to keep it current would help, specifically a dark mode /system setting like OzRunways.

### 3/5 — Basic functions

*2024-03-27, version 5.0.9*

In a world where we can use two fingers to zoom in to see and read information in 99% of applications, it continuously disappoints me that all the weather and NOTAM data NAIPS provides we can not zoom in to read easier.

### 3/5 — Nearest Location

*2023-12-07, version 5.0.9*

Using the nearest locations seems to be way off the last few weeks?

### 4/5 — Very helpful app has a couple of draw backs

*2020-01-29, version 5.0.1*

The app is great because you can save the NOTAMS and the weather and view them offline but I was just wondering if you guys are going to add GAFS to the area briefing because it is very annoying having to go to the website to get the GAFS. But on a while it is a good easy to use app.

### 4/5 — updating Saved docs

*2019-10-21, version 5.0.1*

Version. 4.5.1
Hi, great app, however,

a. users cannot update a Saved document, once you have changed your password,

b. you cannot view the background picture - no home page button, and

c. the initial startup photo is only briefing viewed, for one second.

d. 21/10/2019 cannot Cancel/Amend Sartime. Error quote
Sartime must be forward of EOBT and current time.
ETD is more than 5 days in the future.
Unquote

Sartime was submitted today, and attempted to cancel today. Both iphone and ipad.

### 4/5 — Need iPhone X/XS/11 support

*2019-09-19, version 5.0.1*

Hi,

Amazing app. Can't fault it but need full support. New iPhones with full screen displays have ugly black bars top and bottom. Thanks

### 4/5 — Connection error

*2019-04-16, version 5.0.1*

Had app for years without any problem.
However currently will not operate a 80% of the time.
‘Connection error’

### 4/5 — Needs night mode!

*2018-07-02, version 5.0.1*

Great app, would be even better if it had a toggle night mode switch.

### 4/5 — Generally good but needs an update

*2018-04-19, version 5.0.1*

Would really appreciate a “save all” button when you “update all entries” on the saved entries tab. Please. Easy fix that would save a lot of pain. Also the ability to reorder your saved entries! Also please.

### 3/5 — Continuous connection errors

*2017-11-04, version 4.9.2*

I've had this app for years and it's been great. But current version just gets "% Connection error keep trying a few more times" when doing a location brief. Unusable.
Edit: I found out why this was happening. Somehow during an update the option to use mobile data was turned off. But most apps tell you that you need to turn mobile data on. Instead I just got the above error. Support for this app is hard to find, as all support links lead to their other app OzRunways.

### 1/5 — Frozen

*2016-05-16, version 4.5.2*

Looks good but App frozen on both iPad and iPhone - how do we get our money back for apps that just don’t work- how about some quality control!

### 1/5 — Please support iPad Air 2 split screen

*2015-11-28, version 4.5.2*

Please update to support ios9 iPad air2 split screen

### 1/5 — Fix the bugs

*2015-08-14, version 4.5.2*

The login bug needs to be fixed as a matter of urgency.. This renders the app virtually useless

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2026-01-26, version 5.0.13*

With all the money they spend on oz runways you would think they could put some effort into improving this app. Terrible application that needs a complete redesign.

### 1/5 — Please Fix User interface

*2025-04-03, version 5.0.13*

Could you please fix the window from accidentally closing when clicking on the outside of the border on iPad.

### 1/5 — Soooo hard to use !

*2023-04-12, version 5.0.7*

Constant error messages - just gave up

### 1/5 — SPIFB updates don’t work

*2023-01-20, version 5.0.7*

Tis broken

### 1/5 — Unusable if dark mode is enabled

*2021-09-11, version 5.0.3*

Latest version can’t be used with dark mode text is white on white background and black on black background. Navigation buttons are invisible.

### 1/5 — %connection error - keep trying

*2019-09-05, version 5.0.1*

This package is pretty useless as it refuses to provide the information I require in terms of Notams.
It repeatedly provides a %connection error and suggests that the used keeps trying to connect. After several dozen attempts I have thrown in the towel and would not recommend this.

### 1/5 — Needs update

*2018-07-16, version 5.0.1*

This app used to be good but since Area Forecast has been updated to GAF this app doesn’t show this feature anymore which kinda defeats the purpose of using it.

### 1/5 — No GAF charts

*2018-02-03, version 5.0.1*

Still not updated with GAF charts making it definitely not worth $12 and near useless

### 1/5 — No GAF yet is pretty weird

*2018-01-26, version 5.0.1*

I loved it but it’s now out of date

### 1/5 — Connection Errors Present

*2017-08-16, version 4.9.2*

Unfortunately the latest update of this App produces connection errors, rendering this NAIPS App useless.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Access Violation

*2023-03-19, version 5.0.7*

Occasionally getting the above message when trying to get TAFs and NOTAMs.
All other charts updating.

### 5/5 — Essential kit

*2018-10-07, version 5.0.1*

If you fly in Australia then you need this app. Simple. Works.

### 5/5 — Please update for GAF

*2017-11-14, version 5.0*

Overall easy to use.
Please update for GAF, thanks.

### 5/5 — Recommended

*2016-01-13, version 4.5.2*

This is the only App I use for WX and NOTAMS and have been using it for a couple of years now. The feature to hide NOTAMs and to save a briefing is great and is why I keep using it.

### 5/5 — Top App for Pilots

*2015-04-25, version 4.5.1*

Excellent App with a developer who listens and is continually working to make it better.

### 5/5 — MUCH faster and all-in-one place that Airservices Australia website

*2013-09-07, version 3.0.5*

All you need from Airservices Australia's site in one app you can take with you and use wherever you have internet. You can save the usual forecasts, charts, etc and with one tap you can update them all. Customizeable font size, alerts and watch and also printing it out (if you have AirPrint printer)... great app for all pilots in Australia. Thanks Rowan!!!

### 5/5 — Great buy

*2013-06-29, version 3.0.5*

Money Well Spent!

### 5/5 — Brilliant!!!!

*2012-11-21, version 3.0.2*

NAIPs (NIS) working brilliantly thanks Rowan. The service and support from the OzRunways team was second to none before, during and after the recent Airservices upgrade. This App is the most used application on my IPad and IPhone.

### 5/5 — Indispensable

*2012-11-16, version 3.0.1*

Couldn't survive without app on my phone. My most used flying app.

### 5/5 — Indispensable

*2012-11-12, version 3.0.1*

The NAIPS apps has become the defacto standard for weather and flight plan services on iOS since its original release. The ability to get weather full weather data from the source anywhere, anytime (even in the air) is more than convenient, it's a boon for safe flying.
