## What is naive tracker?

4-track sampler / sequencer

Naive tracker is a modern, minimalistic implementation of the vertical sequencer concept known as "tracker", designed specifically for small screens with touch interface and optimized for a fast and easy workflow.

- single screen editor: immediate access to everything
- sleek monochrome UI
- ready to use: comes with a collection of synthetic lo-fi and acoustic instrument samples
- sample browser: load / play samples super fast from anywhere in the file system
- record samples
- sample editor: select, trim, normalise, reverse or draw the raw wave form
- random: shuffle parameters for new inspriration
- pattern list: switch patterns live, chain patterns in a loop or arrange a song
- export / re-sample: save complete songs as wav file
- Ableton Link: plays in sync with any Link enabled app/device

The two-dimensional note editing with instant transpose function enables a clear and compact sequencer where everything happens in a single layer.

Patterns can be selected manually, play as looped range or in linear order so that the pattern column is suited for live performance as well as song arrangement.

The 16-step sequencer grid may be extended with meta step, variable track length or by looping a chain of patterns.

### 5/5 — Beautiful!

*2026-07-12*

This is a great tracker with very well thought out UI. If it could have more patterns and instruments per song, it could be one of the best groove boxes/composition devices out there. Also, synth instruments please!

### 5/5 — First time?

Saw the youtube vid on this! Good luck and looking forward to future updates. Thanks for the easy to digest help manual on the website as well. Curious to know the name behind naive.
