## What is Namaz Lock?

Namaz Lock turns your phone into a reason to pray instead of a reason to forget.

Pick the apps that pull you away — social feeds, games, whatever it is — and they stay locked during each prayer window. Open one and you get a full-screen reminder with the prayer name and a dhikr to read, instead of the feed. The lock lifts when you confirm you've prayed.

HONEST BY DESIGN
There is no camera, no motion tracking, no proof required. You tap "I prayed" and the app believes you. Accountability here is a tool you point at yourself, not surveillance.

REAL PRAYER WINDOWS
Locks follow actual Islamic time boundaries, not arbitrary countdowns — Fajr until sunrise, Dhuhr until Asr, Asr until Maghrib, Maghrib until Isha, Isha until midnight. Prayer times come from your location with seven calculation methods to choose from: ISNA, Muslim World League, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian, Karachi, Diyanet and UOIF.

WHEN LIFE HAPPENS
Snooze for 5 minutes, 15 minutes, or the rest of the window. Travelling? Refresh your location in a tap. Missed a prayer entirely? Log it as qada — it counts in your history without pretending you were on time.

BUILD THE HABIT
A streak that tracks current and longest, and breaks honestly if any of the five is missed. Full daily timetable. History you can actually look back on. Notifications when a prayer begins and when one is about to slip away.

DUAS AND DHIKR
The full Hisn al-Muslim collection — 132 chapters, cached for offline reading. Dhikr appears on the lock screen itself, so the interruption becomes the reminder.

IN YOUR LANGUAGE
English, Urdu, Arabic, Turkish, Indonesian and French, with full right-to-left support.

WHAT'S FREE, AND WHAT ISN'T
App blocking, prayer times, history and duas are free and always will be. This app does not paywall worship. Namaz Lock Pro adds advanced analytics, your own custom duas, and cloud sync across devices.

Namaz Lock uses Apple's Screen Time API to block apps. Nothing about which apps you use ever leaves your device.

Namaz Lock Pro (optional) unlocks advanced analytics, custom duas and cloud backup, as a monthly auto-renewable subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account; subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed in your App Store account settings.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.9 — 2026-10-08

• Log prayers from the last 7 days: mark any missed prayer as prayed on time or as Qada, and fix a wrong entry. Today shows a reminder when something is still unlogged.
• Qibla direction: a compass with the Kaaba on the dial. Tap the Kaaba on the Today card to open it.
• Search for your city by name instead of using GPS — a city you pick stays put.
• Qibla compass is now more honest: when your phone's reading is unreliable (near a magnetic case, speaker or car mount), it tells you instead of pointing the wrong way. New: find the Qibla using the sun, moon or North Star when the compass can't be trusted.
• Bug fixes and performance improvements.

### 1.0.7 — 2026-09-02

• Excused days you can mark yourself — private to your device, off by default
• Set your own start times (jamat) for each prayer
• Pressing Close on a blocked app now sends a notification that takes you straight back to mark your prayer
• Weekly prayer summary notification
• Prayer times now work fully offline

### 1.0.2 — 2026-08-27

Fixed location permission recovery when re-enabling in Settings, added offline prayer time calculation when the network is unreachable, and polished a few small UI issues.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-08-19
