## What is Namaz Vaktim?

Prayer times and Qibla. Nothing else.

This app is deliberately small. No ads, no tracking, no account, no "premium". Open it and you see the times; when a prayer time arrives you get a notification. That is all.

Notifications that actually arrive

The most common complaint in this category is that notifications quietly stop after a while. Phones stop apps that run in the background, and most apps never tell you.

Namaz Vaktim has a notification self-test: it schedules a test notification two minutes ahead and measures when it actually arrives. If it does not, the app tells you why and which setting on your phone to change. You find out whether your notifications work before you miss a prayer, not after.

Measured: on a Galaxy S21+, with the app fully killed and the screen off, the notification arrived 0.9 seconds late.

Official times in Türkiye

For 861 districts the app uses the official table published by the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) — the table itself, not an approximation of it. It is downloaded once a year and stored on your phone.

Where no table exists, the app falls back to astronomical calculation and labels the result "approximate" in the interface.

Qibla that tells you how much to trust it

The compass corrects for magnetic declination and shows its accuracy. When the reading is unreliable it says so and asks you to calibrate. Pointing confidently in the wrong direction is worse than not pointing at all.

Almost never goes online

The app connects to the internet only to download the prayer table, at most twice a year. No daily polling, no launch ping, no background traffic. Everything else runs on your phone — your times are there in airplane mode too.

Your coordinates never leave your device. The prayer table is requested by the district id you picked; nothing else about your location is sent.

hadith of the day.

• Dhikr counter — set your own round target and keep count. Counts stay on
your phone; no dates, no streaks, no statistics.

• Verse and hadith of the day — every record shows its source. Copy it,
share it, or turn it into an image in the card studio: portrait, square or
landscape, several backgrounds, save to your gallery.

• Voluntary and disliked prayer windows — ishraq, duha, awwabin, tahajjud
and the three kerahat intervals. Can be turned off in Settings.

• Home Screen widgets — prayer times, verse of the day, hadith of the day.

• Prayer notifications now show the time as well, and can carry a short
verse or hadith.
