omg this is better then other companies..

### 2/5 — Limited functionality

*2026-01-27, version 3.18.13*

For a company as big and well known as namecheap to have such a weak app is kind of an embarrassment. You can’t pay via app if the domain has expired and is in grace. It doesn’t even show the coupon code at check out - it’s just like oh check back later.
Super weak.

### 4/5 — Namecheap and quality

*2025-07-27*

I’ve been with Namecheap for a long time we’re talking a couple decades. I’ve had some big snags, having purchased possibly over 10,000 domains but they’ve always walked me through it and the truth is the platform is one of the easiest to snag a domain fast.

### 1/5 — doesn’t even work

*2025-03-14, version 3.18.7*

you can’t even view your purchased domains, it’s been broken for months without a sign of update

### 1/5 — 🛑🛑🛑🛑

*2025-02-10, version 3.18.7*

Zero support or phone support., stay away from this company! 🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑

### 1/5 — Horrible support, no standards

*2025-02-09*

No standards at all between payments in app and via web. Also no transparency between the app and webportal. Horrible tech support that will waste your time. Can only pay with apple pay in app. If the domain expired and it’s the grace period you must renew via web but the accepted payments don’t include apple pay on the web. App is nearly useless.

### 3/5 — Great service but the App won’t let me login

*2025-02-01, version 3.18.7*

App won’t let me log in

### 1/5 — Can’t login through app

*2025-01-31, version 3.18.7*

After entering login credentials and verification code, the app hangs at a “Loading…” screen. It just says “Loading…” and nothing else; it never times out or provides any kind of error message. I tried disabling 2FA but that didn’t help. Such a shame since namecheap’s website is not well optimized for mobile browsers.

### 1/5 — Horrible customer service

*2025-01-25, version 3.18.6*

Horrible customer service— I will never do business with NameCheap again.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-03-15, version 3.18.13*

If you’re smart and you value money then hire a professional. Don’t pay these scammers to steal from you or your clients that you recommend.

### 1/5 — No filters

*2026-03-09, version 3.18.13*

No option to filter already registered or to disable similar suggestions inclusion.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-03-03, version 3.18.13*

If you’re smart and you value money then hire a professional. Don’t pay these Indian scammers to steal from you or your clients.

### 1/5 — BACKUP CODES BROKEN, FIX IT!

*2025-12-07, version 3.18.11*

I log in on website. Regenerate a backup code and copy it to my clipboard by clicking YOUR copy button.

Then I use apple handoff to transfer my clipboard to my apple device because YOUR FRIGGING APP DOESN'T SUPPORT 2FA "YET". Well, it has said "yet" for years now. Get on it lazy developers!

And to top it off, your own app refuses to accept the backup code and now my account is about to be locked if I can't guess how your incompetent software engineers parse whitespace.

Fix your PDF print of the backup code, too! It creates two columns but when you go to select them, the PDF has the columns in collated order! What a joke.

### 1/5 — Not secure

*2025-10-15*

The app don’t support yubikeys despite their website supporting it. There’s no reason other than pure laziness for that. It’s not new and other apps have supported them for many years.

If they’re this lazy about login security what else on their platform is insecure? Looks like it’s time to find a new registrar that takes security seriously.

### 1/5 — Horrible and not user friendly

*2025-10-13, version 3.18.10*

First 2 minuets on the app and I can’t even create an account without having to leave the app. It’s saying it’s from Ukraine so now I feel like it’s a scam app. Very hard to use, I would stay away if you’re trying to create a business or store.

### 1/5 — I love Namecheap, but this app isn’t worth bothering with

*2025-04-23, version 3.18.7*

*EDIT 4/23/2025: can confirm this app is still completely useless. Don’t be fooled by those glowing 5-star reviews that show on the store page… lol they honestly couldn’t be further from the truth given just how awful this app is. It’s almost impressive just how nonfunctional it is, especially compared to a simple PWA… Namecheap clearly only cares about it ticking that “we have a mobile iOS app” box for marketing.

I use Namecheap as they’re a great registrar & decided to check out their mobile app to have the option to manage things on the go—didn’t take long to realize that wasn’t going to happen when the app login doesn’t function at all. I don’t know exactly what the problem is but I suspect they need to iron out issues with their 2FA functionality; would be nice if they’d just get with the times by ditching their proprietary app and add support for 2FA via Duo/Authy/Google Authenticator/etc. Anyway, the app looked promising but is altogether useless in its current form—save yourself some time and wait until they hopefully/maybe revamp this sad excuse for an app.

### 1/5 — iPhone app broken

*2025-04-08, version 3.18.7*

Can no longer login and no help support available. I have deleted and reinstalled and use two-factor authentication. Screen frozen as solid orange saying “Loading …”

### 1/5 — Never works

*2025-03-31, version 3.18.7*

I have this app and every time i get to use it, it never works. I'm logged in but my domains never show up. Tried deleting and reinstalling and always the same thing. Might work once after reinstalling but next time it's broken again

### 1/5 — Fake reviews?

*2025-03-26*

I’m convinced that all these apps that have these amazing reviews are fake reviews somehow I don’t know how they’re doing it but they must be fake because this app has almost 0 functionality. It doesn’t show my domains most of the time when I login and it’s just the most basic Feature lacking app on my iPhone. The company is great, but their app is worthless so how are the amazing reviews? That’s my question.
