## What is nana?

Hands full? Just say it. "Log a 4 oz bottle in nana" or "Log a wet diaper in nana" — Siri saves it with your name, even from the Lock Screen. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, say "Log what happened in nana" and describe it in your own words; nana drafts the entries and saves nothing until you say yes.

And it's a little joyful, too: every activity has its own pixel-art banana, and a baby banana on Home shows what's happening at a glance — nursing, napping, or ready for a feed.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 3.6.1 — 2026-09-30

Sync you can see without a banner, and the next bottle size whenever you need it.

• Sync status, in its place: “Syncing…” and “Getting 42 new entries…” now show in the line under your baby's name, and “42 entries added” says when they've landed. Routine syncs stay silent.
• No more playback: a big download from a partner's phone lands as one batch instead of filling the timeline in waves. Scrolled down? A small pill says new entries are waiting, and a tap takes you to them.
• Background sync that finishes the job: when iOS refreshes nana in the background it now keeps its database open for the whole refresh, and a save interrupted part-way is retried quietly. If that takes a while, the entry reads “Waiting to sync” instead of “Not saved”.
• Next bottle, always: Home's “Try N ml for the next bottle” line now shows while you're nursing, pumping or the baby is asleep, which is exactly when you'd prep it.

### 3.5.1 — 2026-09-29

Saves you can count on, even when nana isn't open. More reliable sync, clearer summaries, and little improvements for everyday care.

• Siri, hands free: “Log a bottle in nana” now saves every time, even when nana is in the background or your phone is locked.
• Every entry sticks: logs made in the background no longer turn up as “Not saved” once iCloud catches up.
• Last fed counts nursing: finish a nursing session and Home shows how long ago the baby ate, and for how long.
• If a save ever does fail, the row says “Not saved” right beside its name, with Retry on the right, and nothing gets cut off.
• See when the last poop was logged right on Home, with clearer context in Insights.

### 3.3.2 — 2026-09-28

A more playful nana, with the same simple logging.

• Meet the bananas: pixel-art icons for every activity, and a baby banana on Home that shows what's happening — nursing, sleeping, or ready for a feed.
• Each caregiver gets their own banana in Family, and log sheets, Quick Log, widgets, Live Activities and Apple Watch all share the new look.
• The nursing chart shows left and right sides in their own colors, with a matching legend.
• “Last fed” now sits under the whole feeding group, so it's easier to read at a glance.
• Typing a bottle amount updates the breast milk / formula slider as you type.
• Timeline ends fade out cleanly, and chart date labels no longer clip on longer ranges.
• Improved reliability when nana syncs in the background.

### 1.19.0 — 2026-09-24

New: temperature logging and clearer everyday tracking.

• Log temperature in °C or °F, including how it was measured, notes, and photos.
• See temperature readings over time in Insights. The chart stays hidden until you have readings.
• Choose from more bottle sizes with tidier volume controls and clearer units.
• Follow nearby bottles together under one Feeding heading, with each bottle still easy to edit.
• Dry diaper checks no longer increase totals in Activity, Insights, or summaries. Mixed diapers are easier to spot with striped bar segments.
• Medicine history has cleaner date headings, and temperature entries have their own muted-plum color.
• Feeding timers hide zero hours, with a gentle animation when a window is over. Reduce Motion is respected.

### 1.18.1 — 2026-09-22

Bottle guidance. After three bottle feeds, Home suggests how much to pour next — "Try 100 ml for the next bottle" — from your baby's own recent feeds, top-ups included. It stays up during naps so the bottle is ready first.

A calmer Home. Right after a feed the card reads "Just fed," and a normal gap between feeds is no longer mistaken for a missing log.

Trends at a glance. Insights compares the two halves of whatever range you pick, with an arrow on every line. Dry diaper changes no longer count toward wet, poo, or daily totals.

Also: overnight sleep continues across midnight, a nursing session's sides are grouped together, and quick bottle sizes make the usual amount one tap.
