I have to remove it from the group before adjusting it individually. I should be able to override the group by making individual adjustments. Please don't hesitate to email our dedicated service team at support@nanlink.com ### 4/5 — Workflow game-changer *2025-11-23* This app isn’t perfect, but it’s amazing. • Pairing lights isn’t Apple-easy, but it’s straightforward • Light control is instant—tap something onscreen and it’s live • Full color controls, with multiple input methods (color wheels, HSL sliders with fine-grain control) • Separate fixture groups is very handy if you shoot in different genres with different setups • PRESETS! Saving full HSL, intensity, and on/off info for my whole design means I can make multiple color options for clients before they arrive, and try them all instantly • A bunch of nice-to-haves: Light diagrams, sorting options, comments on fixture groups My only complaints are small: 1. Sometimes lights spontaneously lose their connection. They always come back when I tap into them. It’d be great to make that more stable. 2. There’s a short delay between tapping into a light and the settings coming up. That should be instant. Slows me down thinking and changing settings in front of clients. 3. The app needs a UX overhaul. Hard to find a bunch of important settings, and the most useful feature—saving presets—is buried several levels deep. Please put that out front! 4. Tried to create an account eight times, and never got a confirmation email, even in spam. ### 2/5 — Not great *2025-02-21, version 2.4.2* I’m pairing with Nanlux Evoke 1200 and I loose signal if I’m further than 8ft from the unit. App is lagging and poorly working. Unfortunately the app is not usable in a professional environment. I like the Evoke more than Aputure but I can’t rely on the Nanlink app:( Sidus I had never problems with:/ ### 2/5 — Update with ws-tb-1 *2024-01-19, version 1.4.5* Before the update I could group 4 of my Pavotube 30c Gen 1, now it won’t allow me too. Please fix this nanlite ### 3/5 — Fixture Groups *2023-12-09, version 1.4.5* When I’m creating a new Fixture Group I can’t add any of my fixtures to it, all greyed out. ### 2/5 — Layout doesn’t adapt very well to iPad *2023-10-03* This app doesn’t use responsive design so you get this strange phone emulated experience with lots us wasted space. Also logging in was very difficult because the fields wouldn’t allow me to paste values in from a password manager like last pass. When I was able to log in I was expecting it to import the scenes I already had from my phone but it just started over from an empty state. I think they need to walk this through some user flows again from the point of installation. **Developer response:** Dear user, thanks for supporting Nanlink, and also sorry for any inconvenience caused by. In order to protect the security of the user's account, the password needs to be entered again each time when the user log-in,but the account will remain logged in as long as they do not log out. The issue of pasting values from the password manager, we will give feedback to R&D team to improve the user experience.In addition, Nanlink APP can set up scene presets to save previously set content.Wish you all the best! ### 2/5 — Great hardware light. App privacy questionable. *2023-03-25* Why does the app require user contact and access to the content on my device? Photos, emails, text this has zero to do with light control. Privacy policy is that the developer can access (copy) your data and use it how they decide. Other manufactures that provide remote light control do request any of this access and those apps work fine. You can claim that you don’t use our data but nothing stops you as long as you are granted permission though the App. **Developer response:** Dear Textjason, Nanlink will never infringe any rights and interests of our users. The reason why we request permission to access photos and cameras is to enable the color picking feature in our App. Additionally, our Bluetooth connection method occasionally requires users to enable location and Bluetooth permissions. We want to assure you that before accessing any of these permissions, we always ask for the user's consent through a pop-up window, and they can choose to either agree or disagree. This is a standard practice that is followed by many other Apps. So, there is no need to worry about this matter. Thank you for your support of Nanlink. ### 2/5 — Ws-tb-1 *2023-02-23, version 1.2.3* I cannot in any way control a group through ws-tb-1, when I control the 6 individual pavotubes 15x they work normally, but when I create a group the app does not respond. all updates have been done. ### 2/5 — Lots of issues *2023-02-11* I can’t even go back from one tube’s settings to the previous screen. The arrow won’t work to go back so I have to close the app and re open if I want to switch between tubes, very frustrating. I’m on iPhone 14 max. Also the settings don’t seem to save + you guys really need to make a master control where you can control all the lights at the same time so all their settings Mach instead of going back n forth between individuals. **Developer response:** Dear DrizzyDDrake, thanks so much for your feedback and sorry for any inconvenience that caused by. Actually, you don't need to close the App when you wanna switch to control another fixture, you can just put each fixture into different scene, and then control the fixture that you want in the scene interface. Also, each time you adjust the light parameters, you can add the settings to the Preset, so that next time you can easily control your light. We sincerely hope the Nanlink App can help you more! ### 2/5 — Needs a revamp *2023-02-03, version 1.1.6* The lights are really screwy and CCT mode doesn’t work at all. ### 1/5 — Driving Mode Malfunction *2023-02-03, version 1.1.6* Driving mode ambient dimming won’t work. I’ve cross checked all the other effect modes and dim works as advertised, but for some reason the drive mode won’t. Disappointing as I need that mode for a set and now I’ll have to rent. Debating returning. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Anti-iPad *2025-07-05* Aside from all the general connectivity issues described by other users, I find it very unprofessional and frustrating that Nanlink does not have an adaptive interface for iPads. Almost every gaffer I know uses an iPad on set, but here I am having to scale up the phone version on my tablet. It looks terrible and wastes screen space. Although I love some of their lights, I cannot take this company seriously or choose them over Aputure until they fix this issue. **Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! A recent update erased my presets. It’s bad enough that I recommend using Aputure and moving away from NANLINK. They used to be good! ### 1/5 — App won’t work without supplying personal info *2023-10-16, version 1.4.5* What a load of junk. I never got it to work because I won’t setup another email account just to remotely control a light. Developer arrogantly believes this software is worth giving up my email. Deleted after all of 5 minutes. ### 1/5 — Still don’t work *2023-06-08, version 1.2.5* I have six pavotubes and I was hoping this app would work and of course still doesn’t. ### 1/5 — Pavotube T8-7x Bluetooth Not Working :( *2023-06-05, version 1.2.5* I don’t know what’s going on but I cannot connect to either of my lights in the app via Bluetooth, they simply don’t pop up in the app when the lights are turned on. This severely limits what features I can use on the lights. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2023-03-14, version 1.2.4* This app is worthless. Inconsistent operation, will not pair with lights that have already been added. If you exit the app and open it again it locks up trying to re-pair with lights. Asking permission of all your data… *2023-02-23, version 1.2.3* It is truly shocking how much permission this app is asking. It is certainly a good spy tool. Are you kidding me? This app wants users to give a access to photos and storage and millio other personal data. ?? In the user agreement stated: they provide data… if “we are asked by the Law of the People’s Republic of China to disclose their personal information to third parties, and without the user’s further consent.” Alarming. ### 1/5 — New Update Killed Presets!!! *2023-02-22, version 1.2.3* Today’s update (2-22-23) deleted over 10 presets that I use weekly for my job and dropped the connection to all 8 fixtures! I’m starting over from scratch. Why would you do this? ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work with new iPhone *2023-02-16, version 1.1.6* How am I gonna spend $2.5k on lights that are advertised to work with an app but the app doesn’t even perform. On a brand new iPhone with the dynamic island, you cannot interact with the apps top left and top right buttons… which renders the app useless. Please, invest in a more updated app please ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best Lighting App I’ll actually use. *2026-06-10* Many of these internet of things apps allow for such fine granular control, they forget to control the one thing they’re designed to do. This app skips complicated steps and is incredibly easy to use, so much so that’s it’s easier to control the light on the app vs physically. The app does everything I needed it to do and was easy to set up with the help of GpT. We'll keep working hard to provide you with a great experience. ### 5/5 — Fixture Group Doesn’t Work on Nanlink 2.0 *2025-03-01* I have 8 Nanlite Pavotube II 15X and 4 Nanlite Pavotube II 30X, all on latest firmware. After upgrading from Nanlink 1.x to 2.0, I could not get fixture groups to work. I did all normal troubleshooting steps. Then at last I deleted the Nanlink 2.0 iOS app and re-installed it, then it worked. I suggest that procedure for anyone have problems after upgrading from Nanlink 1.x to 2.0. Whatever updates have been done now have the app running smoothly, presets and fixture names saving as they should, login is working correctly and it’s just a sold app. Everything is working exactly as it should be and I’m now more than happy to use and trust the NANLINK app with my PavoTubes. I have only one Forza, so my needs are pretty simple. I followed a YT tutorial by @TheHyphenate to get up and running. Very straightforward and simple. Bluetooth connectivity was easy. Dimming, temperature, on/off, and fan control. That’s all I need. ### 5/5 — Working Great So Far *2023-02-10* I might update this if it becomes incredibly frustrating in the future, but with all the one and two star reviews I wanted to say that I just purchased 2 ProTube II 6Cs, and right out of the box I was able to easily connect and control them individually, and they worked great. Much easier to navigate through the app than the on light controls, though both are good, and if I’m setting up a scene, I’m glad I have a remote option, especially since I will likely be using these vertically, which would make using the built in controls difficult. Maybe it’s just beginners luck, but to me it looks like the devs heard your complaints and worked to fix them. One effect I would love to see added, although I could probably choose a fade that would work, is a “Streetlight” mode. I downloaded the app and am mesmerized with all the different effects that can be done with them.
