I work on an ad hoc basis, so I'm always going into new homes and meeting different families each week. I often look after children and babies of all different ages, and what I really love about the Louenna app is how it gives me those gentle reminders-like routine guides and what to expect at different stages of development. It's really reassuring, even with all my experience. I haven't even got round to checking out the recipes and all the other handy tips yet, but I know they'll come in useful! As a first time Mummy I have found that this is without a doubt the most informative, useful and sensible resource. We have followed the routines which have been so easy to follow and have resulted in us having a very happy baby who has slept through the night 7-7 from 12 weeks old. The myriad of chapters offer a wealth of knowledge, so much so that I have turned to this with each and every little baby-related query that has cropped up. The shop has been SUCH a helpful guide, it has saved us so much money as there are way to many product for babies out there, but the Louenna app is brilliant for drilling down to what you really need! Personally I’ve tried to follow the routines and honestly, my newborn didn’t sleep even close to the times mentioned initially but I did find it helpful to have something to work towards. I have used other sleep apps for babies as an adjunct and now at 4 months, he is feeding/sleeping very similar to the 3-5month routine. That is a point made in the app itself - to be flexible. I do think if I hadn’t got this app, I may not have realised the importance feeding (+ top up feeds) has on sleep and vice versa. It’s just helped us form our own routine and has a ton of other helpful information as well (holiday lists, vaccination information, activities etc). If you want structure to your day, you can use this app to help you do that (it may not look the exact same as the suggested times but why does it matter?) None of them were anywhere near as helpful and informative as the Louenna app! Absolutely invaluable resource. This app gives you information you can trust and answers all those nightlong little questions you have as a new parent - which crucially kept me off google! When we were really struggling with sleep at about 5 months we booked a 48 hr ‘troubleshoot’ consultation with Janie. She has transformed our sons sleep in a matter of days and did it all with such care, love and attention that we didn’t want her to leave! The content is very practical, tons of useful tips and tricks on various aspects of baby sleep, feeding, development, etc for the relevant age. It’s been my go to for advice on literary anything baby related and it worked every time! The support team is absolutely brilliant - very experienced and incredibly helpful, willing to go above and beyond to help. I used their support package for sleep training and managed to get my baby to sleep through the night within a week with their advice offered at each step along the way and as a follow up. Just read the article in The Sun, very worrying that these outdated practices will once again be finding their ways until peoples homes. Please, please speak to a lactation consultant, qualified health professional or breastfeeding counsellor if you are having issues with breastfeeding or need information on looking after a new baby. And in response to your reply to this- Of course fed is best, what a stupid idea that starving your baby is a good idea and a sensible tag line, I prefer ‘informed by a strong evidence base and making choices based on that information is best’. And the evidence base is certainly not what you have looked at. P.S. I have looked after 100’s of family’s and I can safely say that I would never advise or do what you are doing. Just stop now. ### 1/5 — Anxious parents & upset baby *2021-06-01, version 2.11* Whilst this app has a lot of information in it which I’m sure is very helpful, I mainly got it for help with routines. With a 6 week old I was worrying that our newborn didn’t have a schedule and that we were setting her up for bad habits. (Turns out that’s totally normal up to 3 months) Tried following the advised routine which says to only feed every 3 hours either bottle or breastfed, and to distract with toys or a dummy in between. I now know that breastfed babies should be fed on demand and mums should not be shamed into thinking they have a baby that ‘snacks’, or keep their baby waiting to feed. Not knowing any better I was trying to follow the schedules which only made us upset, overly anxious and feel like a total failure. After more reading and advice elsewhere I now know that feeding on demand is what you should be doing, babies don’t always feed out of hunger, sometimes it’s for thirst, comfort, or a growth spurt. So based on this I’d say the advice is quite unhelpful and made us stressed with an upset baby. Would have been better to stress that routines aren’t ridged and newborn babies aren’t pre-programmed robots! ### 1/5 — ROBUX *2020-08-08* GIMME MY ROBUX AS PROMISED ### 2/5 — Great content. Best wishes, Louenna ### 3/5 — Issues with summary section and logging feeds, sleep and nappies *2022-01-20, version 2.21* Paid for the year and the information has been useful however I can’t use the log to add formula bottle feeds when I go to the summary they vanish. The logs don’t work well at all to add the nappies, feeds and sleep and the summary when things have added is off. I was hoping to use this feature to help me schedule my day so I am disappointed this function isn’t usable. I have updated the app this has not helped. It would also be helpful to have some further support on reflux. We have struggled with schedules due to this because bottles have to sit and thicken and my baby has to be held upright for a certain amount of time after feeds. It would be so nice to see some more advice around helping with reflux, especially for tummy time and play and trying to set routines as we take a lot longer with feeds so have less wake time to work with between naps. Likewise when it comes to weaning if you’ve been using thickened milk and weaning earlier due to reflux. Overall it’s a brilliant app I do find it useful I just think it could be better for the price per month/ yr ### 5/5 — Best parenting app! *2026-02-06, version 3.2.19* Absolute game changer, we’ve used it right the way through from the early newborn days to my daughter turning 2, and it’s still my daily go to. We have a happy child who loves her routine, sleeps 12 hours and eats well.
