The first is that level select lists par, but it does not list the players score, which is displayed in a separate screen and while playing. This makes improving scores extremely tedious. Second, the score card records the player’s most recent score, not their high score. This discourages replaying if a player scored well. These two flaws are a major hassle to replayability. Although it is a well executed game, in my opinion there were some poor game design decisions, like having the rain levels kinda rng, and having the guideline imprecise (the fat ball at the end covers up where the ball will land) . Unfortunately, the golfing portion of this app is much more interesting than the advertisement portion. This left my experience feeling lopsided and myself feeling a little bit confused. As we have seen for over a decade, Nitrome is a very capable studio and publisher, however this release baffles me as I can’t seem to find a single shred of their trademark charm in this strange romp through a combination of St Andrews and Times Square. Hopefully this design philosophy isn’t continued in their future titles. Jokes aside, the golf genre is not nearly groundbreaking enough to warrant sitting through as many advertisements as the publishers of this game apparently believe is acceptable. Not only were the ads incessant, they frequently froze for upwards of 15 seconds leaving me even more time to contemplate the sad state of the mobile game industry. My experience could be summarized as watching a number in the top right corner of my screen begin to tick down from five, then stop, then start again, then stop again, and then finally reach zero so I could complete the next level and be immediately greeted with the same situation thirty seconds later. I would not recommend downloading this software. ### 3/5 — Level 54 is actually possible *2018-11-19, version 1.0* Despite what a few people think, level 54 is very possible to beat. You beat this level by getting onto the second platform where the light house is before it rains. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Scam app - copies clipboard for no reason *2021-06-07, version 1.0* Deleted app because it copies from the clipboard whenever you open it. There is no good reason for it to do that and all it is doing is gathering data nefariously. You swipe backward with the distance equaling the power, and you aim with moving left or right. A lot of the times you have to line up shots. The only problem with this is that the size of the whole is WAY too small. I’m not saying this to complain about the difficulty, but other players will agree that when you see a shot from afar, it is a matter of one pixel increment of moving your finger left and right to make a shot, and it simply isn’t fun to have to constantly retry when you miss. I would be perfect with only 5 more pixels or something. Also, there are way too many ads, to the point that I don’t want to even play the game, it’s obnoxious.
