Clumsy ### 4/5 — Still Fun After 19+ Years! *2025-05-05, version 5.3* I’ve been playing this game since I got my first iMac, when I saw that it came pre-installed. On Macs and Apple TV, there is a 3D version that works great with the appropriate 3D glasses. There are not any adds, it’s always free. There are not many forums for this game so you have to hunt for and map the stollen eggs on your own while avoiding velociraptors, pterodactyls, giant sand worms, mounted guns and droid lasers. The game music is great. I play this game to both be challenged and to relax. I would give 5 stars if they would update to allow gyroscopic flight control with game controllers other than the Apple TV remote. Using a keyboard or controller works very well. It was very simple but I loved dinosaurs and the gameplay was good enough. I never played Nanosaur 2 until now, but I would say that it is the better game of the two. The gameplay is just a bit more engaging since you fly in this one and have more to interact with. The frame rate for this version is super smooth on my 2020 iPad Pro and the gyro controls aren’t too bad. The game also looks very sharp to me. Here’s where it falls on its face though… The camera literally makes me sick when I try to play this game with a controller. When you turn in any direction, the camera will pan toward that direction, and it does that movement quite quickly. That means that whenever you make a quick adjustment to dodge some trees or any number of other things that you’re trying to avoid, the camera kind of jerks around in this crazy way that is super difficult to look at after very long. Anyway, great game, awful camera. Please fix that Pangea :D ### 4/5 — Totally Worth Having *2020-03-20, version 5.2.1* Nanosaur is the coolest original mac game and its sweet they app’ed it. The game is a thrill! Compelling game and fantastic gameplay but you get dizzy. I can beat a level but in in-order to save any of your game progress you have to beat two levels at the same time. They are tough and semi long, thats my setback about the game. Ive always wanted to make it through and discover more of the story. I infrequently play and always anticipate beating it next time. ### 5/5 — Brilliant *2017-06-22, version 5.1.1* I've played this game on Mac and now on iPhone, and I come back to it again and again, year after year. Just 3 levels, but within each are different flavours of the same theme, the variety is good. I love how it's an open world, so you can replay the game again and again in different order. Can be challenging at times, and although the AI is predictable, it allows for varied game play. DEFINITELY, Definitely buy it and play it. Good for a casual play or play the whole game over a couple of hours if you're good. Tactics are important, use the seeking missile for the t-rex after you corner him against a tree or bush - important to learn how to get him as he can be super annoying. Nice flying engine and controls are easy. Highly recommended! I replay it all the time and try to win in different ways, for example snatching the eggs without destroying any enemies or never using the jetpack burst or trying never to take any damage. I recently found it was available for IOS. I purchased the game for $3 and tried it out. It does the original computer version justice! No updated levels in years. ### 5/5 — Immer noch Spaß - jetzt auch auf Apple TV 4 (Universal!) *2016-04-15* Nanosaur 1 begeisterte mich schon auf meinem 97er Power Mac. Dann kam OSX und bald danach Nanosaur 2 - damals mit Top Grafik und 3D mit Rot-Grün-Brille! Als eben dieses Spiel 2009 auf dem iPhone 3G erschien, war der Kauf ein muss. Wer hätte einem Telefon das damals zugetraut. OK. Inzwischen hat es auch auf iOS graue Schläfen da entdecke ich es neu auf Apple TV - und wer es schon hat brauch es nicht neu zu kaufen. Da wir einen 3D Fernseher haben, hab ich es sofort mit Brille gespielt und die alte Begeisterung war wieder da. Inzwischen wirken besonders die Texturen etwas pixelig auf unserem 47er Bildschirm, aber dafür fang ich fast zu husten an, wenn in Full 3D mein Nanosauer vor mir zu Qualmen anfängt. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — disapointed *2024-07-10, version 5.3* Discription stated it would work on my computer.It does not. Damals wurde es mit dem 12“-iBookG4 („PowerPC“-Rechnerarchitektur) geliefert. Später habe ich es mir nochmals im MacAppStore gekauft, damit es auf den damals „neuen“ macOS-Versionen für IntelMacs lief. Schließlich musste ich es ein drittes Mal im iPad-AppStore käuflich erwerben, damit es auf meinem MacBookAirM1 läuft.
