Here you are Chief of police in Mexico fighting the cartels and winning the war against drugs, (or losing). It was on easy too. Easy feels like hard medium feels like close to impossible and hard is impossible! Make it easier to win and giant forces don't pop out of no where. Also fix the money system. Even when you are winning they suddenly receive dozens of troops and wipe you out. I had over half the map and they suddenly received 50 troops. Could have bought a pack of gum. ### 2/5 — Insanely difficult *2013-07-03, version 1.1* Very frustrating. I'm a skilled player of Risk on the iPad, to which this game is similar. But even on the easiest setting this game is insanely hard. I've now played 10 games in a row, trying different strategies, and I haven't won a single one. The play seems absurdly balanced in favour of the AI, and you'll find yourself going from controlling most of the board to suddenly losing nearly all in one turn. Also, even as a massive lefty-liberal, I find the clear bias of this game uncomfortable. It frequently feels like propaganda. It's a shame as this has the bones of a great game. Sadly, I don't have the patience. ### 2/5 — Laughable *2013-06-07* It did not take me very long to find a strategy that makes this game trivially easy. Even on the hardest difficulty, if the player amasses a large number of troops in a territory with an attack bonus, they can steamroll their way to victory by attacking every adjacent territory. Taking a territory grants a monetary bonus which can be spent on another attack, so within a turn of occupying an attack territory, all of the surrounding territories can be easily captured. The game can be completed without any real challenge so what's the point? ### 2/5 — No Point in Playing *2013-06-01* This game does a good job showing the futility of the war on drugs by NEVER ALLOWING YOU TO WIN. I controlled half of Mexico and lost everything but 1 territory. The cartels could wipe me out but don't. Yeah, that's realistic. NOT FUN. ### 2/5 — Could be good but no *2013-05-25* The game could be good, but the randomness of battles just get annoying. I lost 5 troops to 1 cartel. The added bonus for weapons doesn't do anything. 5+1 vs 5 means you loose if you are attacking. At this state the game is just frustrating ### 3/5 — Easy due to bias *2015-07-26, version 1.1* Have to disagree with previous reviews. Just beat the game on normal in less than 20 minutes. It's a risk clone with a built in modifier which makes it hard if you push the war on drugs and easy if you push for legalisation. I've played a lot of strategy gamed and this is the best one so far!!!!! ### 5/5 — Interesting and fun *2013-06-07* This game does a nice job of informing about the war on drugs in Mexico, and it seems like a lot of data is based off real-world information. It's a bit hard (I get destroyed on easy if I play aggressively), and it really suffers from not saving your progress after each turn. For those who think it can't be beat, play more passively. Don't attack the cartels all the time. Just keep them in check till the price of drugs goes down. I learnt a lot about drug cartels, so much so that I then joined one. ### 5/5 — Just Because You Don't Win, Doesn't Mean it Was a Bad Game *2013-05-29* Take the strategy of Risk and combine it with an educational experience on the drug war. Putting yourself as head of the Mexican battle against drugs may be a bit far-fetched, but it is humbling. In a world where everyone not in office knows the political solution, this game is a humbling experience. Even if you do everything right and have a numbers advantage, you can still lose. To those commenting about the difficulty of the game, I believe that is part of the lesson! Real life is not as simple as the good guys beat the bad guys easily. The point is this—even if we are doing our best in fighting the drug war, there will always be corruptible authorities and money available. But that doesn’t mean it is not worth fighting, just that we will lose more battles than we would like. There is much more to this app than a simple game. It is an education in the ongoing battle that, like it or not, affects the world around us. Even if this does not become an all-time favorite for you, it is worth the buy for the realization that sometimes solutions are not as simple as we think them to be in our head. ### 5/5 — Nice strategy game *2013-05-29, version 1.0* The gameplay is really good!
