The fact that it can auto sync the commentary to where you’re currently reading and easily toggle between the two is worth the money alone. I was willing to pay for MacArthur’s commentary in e-format, but the functionality being top top is a pleasant surprise. Most Bible apps are clunky and a pain to use. ### 5/5 — Wonderful App but One Complaint *2023-11-09* Maybe I’m being petty. But I struggle with navigation sometimes. For example, I’m trying to remember how to get to Bibles side-by-side. I have accomplished it twice and somehow it either disappeared or in advertently, turned it off both times. I have gone through every possible scenario that I can think of and I cannot find it again after searching and searching. Maybe it’s age related and my memory is failing me. The app itself as wonderful as expected. The detailed and never ending content and teachings are every bit the same as the many Sermons that I enjoy from Pastor MacArthur. Thanks. ### 5/5 — Love this app *2023-03-22, version 7.16.2* I ### 5/5 — AN INVALUABLE RESOURCE FOR UNDERSTANDING SCRIPTURE *2023-03-01* I have the print version of The Macarthur Study Bible, so when I saw this, I immediately purchased it and have never looked back. I will admit, at 62, I struggled a bit with the functionality of accessing commentaries and other information that this Bible is known for, but with repeated use I learned how to access the features, and it has proven a very valuable electronic tool. I still use the print version, but it is not convenient to always have at hand. I give it 5 solid stars, well worth the asking price. The Search function is stellar; at my age, I remember snippets of Scripture, but not always chapter and verse; “Search” helps immensely with that. The Daily Devotionals are always welcome. Of course, Dr. Macarthur’s commentaries help with understanding the true context of Scripture, and the hermeneutics seem sound. The only resource I wish it contained is an Interlinear Concordance. Now, it may well be in here someplace that I just haven’t found yet, but currently I use another Bible app to fill in that “gap”. A true blessing to anyone wishing to develop a true understanding of Scripture. I knew the MacArthur study Bible would be a huge benefit for me but I travel often and caring it different places presented a challenge. this has given me a convenience for studying the word of God and this app is structured very well and has amazing functionality. It hasn’t been updated in 4 years, which is probably the reason. Certain books will not display beyond chapter one, such as 1 John, 2 John, etc. you can select chapter 2, but it just goes to chapter 1. Different features of fonts, maps, footnotes, verse by verse study notes, the introductions, I can go on and on. The word of God is interpreted beautifully in this app. I don’t own the physical copy of John MacArthur’s Study Bible but I assume it’s the same information. It syncs from iPad to iPhone which is great, especially for the highlights. I have learned a lot from this study Bible app and I continue to learn something new all the time! This is the New American Standard Bible, which I haven’t owned before, and it’s great to bounce from the NASB to the ESV to the NIV to the KJV etc. to understand more of the text! I purchased the NKJV MacArthur Study Bible a few years ago and am rarely without it. When I am, it is due to its sheer size(every bit of which is necessary). After purchasing an iPad I thought I’d try the app, though I could only find it in New American Standard. In my opinion, the only thing that could improve this would be providing the ESV and NKJV translations to be able to swap between within the app. Other than that, it was well worth the price because of the intuitive interface and slightly customizable “Cloud” Bible. Easily the BEST part is the ability to save my notes, highlighting, and quick referencing related scripture, alongside of my reading or while listening to a pastor. 9.5* out of 10 ### 5/5 — Gives more understanding *2024-06-16* Reading the scripture with this app really gives a more in depth view on what the verses say.
