It’s undeniable that the many masterpieces in the National Art Gallery are included. But there is no explanation of the paintings like the digital tour guide offered in the Gallery right?

No paintings by Van Eyck!? He’s credited for practically inventing oil painting. Go to the National Gallery website and add it to your home screen. You can download more pictures from it than this app.

A lot of content for reference

1. Loading the app, it hijacks the audio drivers, and podcasts/iTunes stop playing

2. No option to download all the HD images automatically. If there is, I haven’t found it

3. Some images don’t have HD sources

I won't rehash what others have said. Great to look at the art, but not useful for learning. The only info about the paintings is size, type, painter, and title. Would be sooooo much better if the story of the painting were included.

Some have complained that many  of these art apps don’t give any or enough info about the artist or the work. That’s what google is for,isn’t it? For the minimal amount of money that most of them cost, they’re well worth it.
