I’d buy more pictures if it was more user friendly. If I need to edit, i have to delete the order, re-select all the pictures and then edit and re-add to my cart. It feels like you never really know that you’re getting what you selected, including portrait vs landscape. I never order portrait but somehow got a couple of very expensive metal prints that came wrong. Second, email confirmation doesn’t show each of the prints you order — I ordered 4 and the confirmation shows one photo, quantity of 4. Third, don’t be in a hurry to get your order. I placed 2 orders on a Sunday and paid an extra $25 on each to get them by Saturday. The little wheel spins and spins but the page never loads. However, the app is awful ! I do wish it gave you the total as you go not just the total for each line. They do have good sales. I like mounting them because it makes them sturdy and you don’t need a frame. Spent all this time uploading photographs, resizing and getting them ready - and they were all gone. Interface is absolutely unintuitive and buggy. I’m deleting it. ### 1/5 — Broken App *2025-07-04, version 1.0.68* I had about four or five things go wrong when first using this app. Firstly, after selecting photos to print, it displayed a triangle with expression mark over one without any explanation of what that meant. Secondly, it designated them as “luster” style … wait, where did I choose that? No idea. Thirdly, it required my phone number, designated as optional, to complete the order. Lastly (that I can remember - I think there were other issues because at one point I deleted the cart and started over), hitting the final Place Order button after completing all the data entry result in … NOTHING! It just sits there. SO FRUSTRATING! ### 1/5 — AWFUL APP *2025-07-01, version 1.0.68* I read great reviews regarding the quality of their photos. I downloaded the app and signed up. When I go to upload prints, the app just displays a spinning circle and crashes. They offer color correction for an added fee but don't show you a preview of what the corrected will look like? The crop option is either super zoomed in or out, no ability to make minor adjustments. Even at checkout this app was broken saying I ordered 47 prints when my cart said 54. Feels like a scam but a friend said she's used it... ### 1/5 — Untrustworthy upload experience = not buying prints *2025-05-07, version 1.0.66* I’m less likely to purchase prints if it isn’t clear that the app can process my requested uploads. Trying to upload >10 photos (my ballpark guess) is fraught with uncertainty as a user; feedback and confirmation loops are lacking, and seeing a big red “!” is worrisome right after I’ve spent a lot of time individually selecting dozens of photos to upload. Uploading one or two is fine - I see a separate screen with upload progress etc. But that’s a very painful flow to replicate when I have dozens of images I want to print. Another way to (potentially) make this easier - add iOS share sheet functionality to the NPL app so that I can share directly from where I’m most likely viewing photos on a daily basis (the Photos app). ### 1/5 — Is the quality worth the headache? *2025-01-29, version 1.0.61* The quality of the photo prints are amazing, but trying to upload photos via desktop or app is just painful… the app shuts down as soon as you try to upload photos and the desktop just stops uploading randomly. It is beyond frustrating! They get some great promo’s, but you’ll miss out by the time you get your pictures to even upload. ### 1/5 — Very frustrating and unhelpful in app layout. *2025-01-08, version 1.0.59* Found it impossible to upload more than one photo at a time from my phone to the app. The per photo pricing showed up double the price in my cart. Hard to navigate back and forth between editing different photos. I’ve tried the app, computer browser and a smart phone browser, and the problems are all the same. Uploading photos is a torture, which has to be repeated multiple times to stick. Then, have to follow 20+steps to select each size, and then reviewing takes eons because none of the selected photos can actually be displayed. Spent 1.5 hr to select a few basic prints! I ordered some old Black & white photos on the Pearl paper, and they are impressive. The colored prints I usually do on glossy and they are beautifully vibrant. I’ve received many compliments on these prints.
